Boogaloo - St. Louis
Located in downtown Maplewood we are a fun, casual restaurant and bar featuring Cuban/Creole/Caribbean cuisine served both as Tapas and Large Plates. We have a fun, eclectic aesthetic with alligator skin wall paper, murals, beautiful mirrors and chandeliers and our signature swings at the bar. We serve a full selection of drinks with our specialty Mojitos and Caipirinhas as well as wine, bottled beer and 10 beers on tap.

"We had a group of 10, Boogaloo was very friendly and accommodating. The service was a little slow, on serving food, and we had to remind them a appetizer was forgotten, but was corrected as quickly as possible. Understandable, busy night, lots of large groups, I still would highly recommend this place. FUN! Food is really good!!"

"Service was not great. All the food came out at the same time. Waitress disappeared. Don't need to ever go back. Not a dining experience as it is billed....it's a BAR...food and service is bad and noise level is high....take it off of OPEN TABLE.....!"

"This was the perfect place for our girls night out. The food is fantastic! Each dish has vibrant flavors. Everyone had a great time and was really impressed with the food. This is one restaurant which should be on everyone's "must go" list."

"The service was extremely slow to start off with. From the time we sat down and received our first drink was 25 minutes. The server did not come to our table for 10 minutes from when we first arrived. One drink ordered on the rocks came out with the ice 90% melted so it became vodka and water instead of vodka on the rocks when it arrived at our table. The food, delivered by people other than our server, came out at a decent time, was very hot and good so luckily they didn't wait for our server to bring our food out! She was very friendly when she had time to come to our table. Perhaps too many tables for one server?"

"I absolutely love this place. I found it in Sauce Magazine. Being from the Caribbean and being stuck in Saint Louis I loved the fact that they had Grouper....just amazing. I will definitely return. The server and host noticed that my husband and I were on a date and offered to take our pics. Just wonderful."

"We have been to Boogaloo several times and always enjoy the food. Tapas are a great way to try several different things. We had poor service, and this is not the first time we've experienced that at Boogaloo. The waitress seemed annoyed by us, and didn't want to take our order in a reasonable timeframe. After we got our food, we had others stop by to refill water, but the waitress virtually disappeared."

"There was no one there to greet me upon arrival. The admittedly new poor waitress appeared to be serving the entire left side of the restaurant alone during Saturday afternoon lunch rush. Food was good, but she just couldn't keep up."

"Good variety of food (NOLA/creole, Caribbean, Cuban). Very happy to find that many of Boogaloo's food selections are rather unigue, and not the standard fare of their favored cuisines. The atmosphere (decor, ambiance) will make you think you will step out of the restaurant onto the streets of the Marigny or Uptown neighborhoods in New Orleans. Great service on a busy night (Valentine's). Nice touch with the rose for my wife at the end of the meal. Good size tapas menu. Nice to have option of a traditional meal, or build one with a variety of tapas items. The rope swings used in lieu of bar stools is another nice tropical touch. Finally, if you are looking for a GOOD mojito to cool you off on a hot day, Boogaloo is the place."

"My wife and I went for Valentines dinner. It was a last minute reservation but they had the time slot we needed. Even though they were busy, the service was timely without any long waits. We ordered the Valentines dinner special and were surprised at the amount of food and quality too. I mostly order their dinner specials and have never found it to lack in taste or quality. The same was true with this night's 4-course meal: appetizer, salad, entree, then dessert. It wasn't too much or too little but just right."

"We went for lunch with my elderly father-in-law, I made reservations, but it was not too crowded so we were allowed to choose where we wanted to sit. We had a large booth in the corner by the bar. The waiter was the bartender on our side of the restaurant. (not the side with the swings, which by the way, are totally cool) was excellent!. He asked my "Pop" if he wanted a frosty mug or a traditional beer glass. HUGE points for that. My Pop is a retired AB employee with 44 years at the brewery...total Bud Man and likes his beer in a glass not a mug. The service was excellent and the food as well. I regret to say I cannot remember the waiters name. He was very kind to my Pop and the rest of our party as well."
