North, exemplifies a culinary tradition that blends sophisticated Italian cuisine with the comfort of traditional cooking techniques. The menu features dishes that are created from the freshest ingredients without the unnecessary adornments of cream or heavy sauces. Crispy thin crust pizza, wood roasted entrees, pasta specialties, and a variety of antipasti round out the menu. "Ambiance is nice and comfortable. Noise level is higher, but mostly because people around us always tend to be slightly inconsiderate. It's all right though. Service is pretty consistent. Slow at times, but not terribly so.
Food is wonderful here. We've been back four times since it had a makeover, and have loved every meal we've had thus far. I'm pretty sure we've tried majority of the menu already. I think the only downer was that the steak they offer is so mediocre for the price they have it listed for. It's not memorable, and not fantastic enough to consider again. HOWEVER, the pizzas and pastas are fabulous !
We'll be back, and it'll probably be another late-night dinner."

"My husband and I went to North to celebrate a special occasion. We loved the food! Our salads along with the bread were a meal in themselves, creative and very delicious. My spicy shrimp pasta was the perfect texture with a lot of zip. My husband had a margarita pizza and loved it. We didn't sit out on the patio and will request it next time. The night view over Tucson is gorgeous and it would be a quieter environment. It was far too loud indoors to converse comfortably, which was very disappointing. The deliciousness of the food was dampened by the overall volume of the restaurant (at least the night that we were there). In spite if it, I would still highly recommend North for a tasty spirited meal."

"Went to North late on Mother's Day evening. Groups of diners, family and other large and small groups still filled the space inside and out. Never noticed the noise to be an issue. Waitstaff were very attentive. Excellent bottle of wine and wonderful home made pasta. Loved the decor inside and out down to the details that the backs of the white leather couches are tufted on the back so they look fabulous through the windows!"

"Nice though noisy ambiance. Food is very good. Outside seating is pleasant and good for people watching. Don't try to figure out why the western checkerboard shirts on wait staff in an otherwise Italian theme place...there is no good answer. "This restaurant is so noisy that you just cannot hear people sitting next to you at the same table!! All Fox restaurants are noisy and not sure why they like it this way. A big turnoff to go back. The food was just okay. Other places in area much better choice."

"My wife and I dined here for the second time and it was good. However, the shrimp pasta recommended was mouth numbing spicy hot and my wife sent it back for a traditional pasta dish. There was a mistake on our bill and the waitress had neglected us for a while. Salad and my braised beef gnocchi was delicious. The overall experience was positive. The wine by the glass was expensive if you deviate from the house list. In some cases more than an entree!
So watch what you order."

"Recently North totally renovated it's restaurant, and to be honest at first I wasn't impressed by the change of decor. I loved the modern look it used to have. But the change of menu is spectacular. All of their pastas are made in house and are fantastic, the italian farmhouse salad and their new bruschetta is awesome, the zucca chips are a must have. I also love the wine selections and happy hour menu items. And for a sweet treat at the end they have these little doughnuts with a lemon creme that are so good and refreshing. Would definitely recommend!"

"My wife and I visited this restaurant in celebration of our 1st Year anniversary. EVERYTHING from the greeting when we walked in to a picture taken when we left was GREAT to say the least! We were welcomed with a warm smile and quickly seated. Our waitress was knowledgeable made great recommendations, was attentive, funny and courteous! EVERYTHING tasted GREAT! Menu was decently priced and they even gave us a complimentary dessert in celebration of our special night! The people, ambiance and food truly made this an exceptional experience!"

"I was a bit disappointed in the seating arrangements. Our initial table was placed so close to the next group we were literally having to be careful how we moved our arms so as not to bump folks at the next table !. We asked to be moved to somewhere with a bit more space and we were accomodated but it was a bad start to our evening.
Food was a 6 out of 10. Price was so so for portion sizes. Water bottle on table is a good idea if the water was cold and/or glasses had ice. Service was a bit slow. . took nearly 20 minutes to get the bill paid. I was just about to get up and go to the front to settle the account and the waiter finally showed up."

"We came into Tuscon from Phoenix to take my partner out for her birthday weekend and wanted to have a special dinner. So, I chose North because it was highly recommended on Open Table. The service was good and the food was even better. We had a beautiful table outside on the patio. There was a large group of boisterous people at a nearby table, and though it was bit distracting, I figured they were just enjoying the evening out. Overall, North is worth the trip."

"We have patronized North since it opened many years ago and always enjoyed the food. However, our experience (four of us) on Saturday with the new menu was extremely disappointing. We had extremely poor service. We waited over 50 minutes to get our food after we ordered. A nice lady came around several times to apologize for the delay. Once she said the food was probably right behind her; however, we waited another 15 minutes for it to arrive.
Each of the four of us ordered different items and none of us liked our meals. Three of us left quite a bit of food on our plates, and one of us got a box to take food home for the dogs."

"The host Briana is a gem. Table was late and she kept us happy. Made sure we didn't get cranky. Loved the waiter (a dancer at U of A) GREAT kid with a real sense of proportion. Food was outstanding. Our friends were impressed with our choice of restaurant. Can't wait to come back."

"We want to love NoRTH, really we do, but the noise level is deafening. Our waiter had to shout, and asked us to repeat our orders. The hostess, who was on the phone, was hovering near the wall with her free hand cupped over her other ear. The music was SO loud that the noise level from people talking loudly to be heard over the music ramped up. We may not return unless we can sit on the patio (which was ALSO noisy).
Having said all that, the food is lovely. The service is typically Fox Restaurant quality. The ambiance is fun and interesting."

"Hadn't been to NORTH since the menu change, and we were very impressed. Pasta was excellent! We had requested an outside table, and due to a very large party, there were no more tables outside. The restaurant really went the extra mile to make us happy, moving an inside table outdoors for us and bringing us a complimentary appetizer, which was delicious! We'll be back for sure."

"The Italian Farm salad is one of the best salads I have ever eaten, filled with fresh lettuce, a light dressing, parmesan cheese, olives, cucumbers, and peppers, all served on a board. Easy to share if you are also ordering an entree.
The only thing I was missing was quiet time with my dinner date (my sweet husband). The noise in the interior of the restaurant is pretty noisy when many diners are present. We love the patio and have eaten out there for lunch.

"We chose the perfect time of year mid March and time of day 5 p.m. to visit this restaurant resulting in a near perfect experience. The food was excellent and the view while sitting outside was perfect and the service was near perfect. Everyone from the hostess to the waitress were very pleasant and seemed genuinely happy that we were there. Sitting outside was very comfortable and I especially liked that the tables were not ten inches apart but ten feet apart at least. For our first visit, the impressions was fabulous!"

"North is better and better each visit. It took a while with the new menu. A wonderful sea bass has been added and my wife really enjoyed it. The calamari appetizer was fresh and delicious. I also enjoyed the tagliatelli Bolognese. The service was excellent... very capable and attentive. Definitely worth a visit!"
