Pescatores is an Italian inspired West Coast Seafood Restaurant. As often as we can we serve the freshest seafood coming from our local waters up and down the coast. Our focus is not only on our fresh food but also on friendly and knowledgeable service. The wines that we serve come from the coast as well including Napa, British Columbia, Oregon and Washington to name a few. This longstanding restaurant has become a staple amongst the locals and travelers alike

"Our party of five each found the fish we ordered to be cooked to perfection and seasoned very well to enhance the flavor of each dish. Whle the sides were ordinary, the potato aux gratin was very good. The dungenes crab was cooked to perfection and so sweet and moist it stood on its own without needing to be dipped in butter. The halibut was a thick cut, but likewise cooked but still moist - it's so easy to get a dried out piece of halibut, but not here. The local stuffed trout and arctic char were also as good as any we have had at many more expensive restaurants back home in LA. As good as the meals were, leave room for dessert, as they were all top notch. The wine list also featured BC wineries whose wines went well with our meals."

"We arrived to find our reservation was in a very crowed, small table for two next to a extremely loud table and we couldn't hear each other, and were thinking of leaving. I mention to our waiter we had a similar noise experience just at lunch and could he by chance move us. This was a special weekend for us and felt we were plunked in the middle. Our waiter despite a very busy restaurant managed to moved us to a booth, and our entire evening was not only saved but thoughly enjoyed. Food was amazing, and after the move to the booth a very special evening was made. Thank you."

"We decided to have a late lunch before getting on the Victoria Clipper to go back to Seattle. We got there early and decided to have a martini in the bar. We had a great time in the bar with Jill who was a lot of fun. We decided to stay in the bar for our meal. I had 4 oysters on the half shell that were plump and excellent and fish and chips that were top notch. My wife had the sesame ahi which was cooked perfectly and really excellent. Would go here again on our next trip"

"We have been dining at Pescatores every time we have been in Victoria and have always enjoyed good food and service. This latest visit was definitely an off night for the restaurant. The food was very over cooked and tasteless (the lobster was absolutely murdered) but the staff did their best to make things right. The manager was apologetic and the waitress (Farrah) was excellent"

"Other than a wait for a reserved table (due to popularity of restaurant the evening we went), we found the service to be very good with prompt, courteous and efficient attention. Seating was a bit crowded and the ambiance was pleasant. We found the food good but not excellent. Worthwhile to patronize for a special occasion."

"We enjoyed our dinner here. Service was prompt and our server answered any questions we had expertly, even though I think she was fairly new. We were seated quite close to the front door and the kitchen area, and there was quite a bit of noise coming from the kitchen, but it really didn't take away from the enjoyment of the meal. The food was very good and presented well. The only criticism I could make is that there weren't really any vegetarian entrees on the menu other than one salad, which was quite delicious. I realize this is a seafood restaurant on an island, but one or two options would be nice."

"We were early and the table was available so no waiting. Very good service; food delightful - great oysters and my special favorite - the Cioppino. My wife is the big desert fan - loved the Bananas Foster. My only negative comment was the small pour on the martini - what I thought was a partially frosted glass was actually an inch and a half of solid ice in the bottom of the glass. Get your Martini at the Bengal Lounge, then hit Pescatores."

"I love Pescatores and have dined there often over the years. Had a friend taking a late ferry and we wanted somewhere special to check out the Dine Around Victoria menu. After checking out the menu online, I booked with open table.
Staff and service were great, especially our server, Rachel but was not impressed in the least with the dine around fare. The calamari was greasy and flavorless. The linguini was also flavorless and the fish served with it was obviously frozen and tasted freezer burnt."

"We have been coming here for years and always find the food and service to be excellent. Two things on the down side this time - first one of our group had salmon served on a VERY splintery cedar plank - actually dangerous, as the splinters were coming off in the food. We mentioned it to our server, but don't know what follow-up happened. Second, I love beets, but the cooked beet I had was musty and unpleasant. On the positive side, the rest of our food was delicious, especially the crusty chicken, halibut, and the lemon cheesecake! And our booth was cozy and away from the noise, which was lovely."

""Dine around" Saturday evening dinners can be busy, chaotic and not always pleasing, but Pescatores made it very enjoyable from the Oyster bar shucker that gave us a deal, to the Maitre'D making sure our reservation was timed right in the restaurant and to get a nice booth to seat our party of 4.
Our server Melanie was friendly despite my 2 minor complaints about the food. Excellent pacing of menu items, efficiency and always carrying a smile is tough on a busy evening. I wish more servers were like her.
Food quality is at 90/100 for me and small errors are corrected promptly and with a "certainly Sir" positive attitude."

"Four of us went for the annual Dine Around Town special. What a super value that is, and the food was perfect. I love this restaurant but it is a little higher end (both in cost and in quality) so we don't get to go there very often. The only negative was that they were playing some really repetitive jazz music too loud to allow for much table conversation."

"in a word ... underwhelmed. You see and hear marketing all over town as some great seafood restaurant but on this night even though the seafood was cooked properly, it lacked seasoning and the remainder of your meal was disappointing. The food was bland, again lacking flavour, no seasoning and the pasta was overcooked. And a dressing without flavour over a bed of oh, too simple spinach does not a salad make. Short answer, I guess their real claim to fame is their marketing... and if they are targetting the tourists, know that this new local will not be returning."

"Overall, we were quite pleased although we ordered and paid for 2 lb. lobsters which at best were 1 3/4, but who is going to weigh them when you are hungry. Service was exemplary. Noise level made conversation difficult. The menu is a little hard on the wallet but that may be a sign of the times."
