One of London’s most beautiful restaurants L’Oranger offers a perfect haven in St James’s in which to enjoy the Provencal cuisine of chef Laurent Michel. From his three Michelin star background, Laurent brings an elegance and subtlety to the French Classics. Whilst the rest of London offers diners cutting edge menus, there is comfort in the knowledge that L’Oranger delivers the seasonal French classics time and again executed to perfection. The service and environment is traditional but warm, serving comfortably spaced tables, with highly polished silverware and crisp white linen. Aged oak panels surrounds the restaurant itself and the interior is lit by a glass-domed ceiling. The best kept secret in London is the intimate private room downstairs which seats up to 30 guests and offers the most exclusive dinning destination with individually prepared menus and wine selections. A beautiful secluded courtyard, inspired by “Belle Époque”, is also available on summertime.

"From the moment we arrived to the time we departed the staff could not do enough. The food was amazing and the dishes were explained to us on serving. Any questions were doing answered and explained with great detail and interest.

"We visited L'Oranger for a special occasion but were all a little disappointed as it was recommended to us. Food was good and service was professional but there was no ambience. They apologised that the pianist hadn't arrived but there was no back up plan so diners were speaking in hushed whispers. Tiny little points included serving coffee at the same time as dessert and pouring in all the tonic into a gin and tonic and not laying out napkins on laps which I thought a restaurant of that regard would do. I also felt our table was cramped and the waiting staff struggled to access all our positions comfortably. Also felt it was over priced for the experience and food. Sommelier was good."

"L'Oranger is a French-run French restaurant just round the corner from the French Dept of Trade in London and thus full of French people. The attentive friendly and never pushy staff are what make it what it is with the wonderful and wine list."

"Very French - in a good way! Service attentive, relaxed and unfussed ambience and comprehensive wine list and excellent food. We had set lunch menu so relatively inexpensive but still top quality. I had braised beef cheeks - wonderful and my friend had chicken cassserole - relatively simple ingredients but still superb-tasting. Great place for a laid-back lunch. Will definitely return."

"A hidden gem in St James's St. The decor is restrained and more like a London Club than most restaurants of this quality. 4 of us had the lunch menu, which, with a good and varied choice, was excellent value for money. The cooking was superb and the service was friendly and first-class. Wines expensive but what do expect in SW1 - we chose a Tannat from SW France which was just right for lunch ( or any time). We shall return."

"The restaurant is very good and There is a pianist playing perfect atmoshpere for a romantic dinner I went there with my boyfriend and we absolutely loved it especially since we are french speaking people it was the best Place to enjoy out evening will so go back"

"Everything about L'Orange from start to finish was absolutely fantastic. The food was devine with lovely little twists, the service was impeccable and the ambiance was really great. There was lots of attention to detail to make it enjoyable dining experience. Definitely recommend."
