"I ordered the blackened Mahi Mahi with pesto tortellini, roasted butternut squash, and red peppers. There were 4-5 pieces of DICED butternut squash underneath the tortellini and 2 small strips of red pepper on top of the Mahi Mahi as a garnish. Not worth mentioning a garnish in the menu description. The meal really didn't blend well together and I wouldn't have ordered it if I would have known what I was actually getting. Consider removing the butternut squash and peppers from the menu, or actually add decent portions of them to the meal."

"So loud on Saturday night we could not hear our own table and there were only 2 of us!! Bars were packed. Dress code was shorts and t shirts college style. One guy was doing push ups. Not a place for adults!"

"When my party arrived yesterday we found the dining room was being used by a radio station doing a big and loud production. We were put in the bar area but this was right next to the loud noise coming from the event. Conversation was impossible. We left and went to Sequoia next door, which was delightful.
Tony and Joe's or Open Table should have informed us that a large private party was using the dining room at the time of the reservation. When we left Tony and Joe's no one apologized or explained. Bad customer relations.

"We needed somewhere to eat that was close to the Kennedy Center. Tony and Joe's is a short, easy walk. We went at 6:00, so it was not very full, but was filling up when we left at 7:30. Very enjoyable evening!"

"The Mahi Mahi, swordfish and salmon were all delicious and well prepared and presented. We enjoyed the music but the noise level from other diners was so loud that we could barely hear one another talk! The service was mediocre, and we noticed there definitely was a need for more servers.
Glad Tony and Joe's reopened after the flood, I think we will stick to brunch!"

"Tony & Joe's is our favorite brunch in DC. The buffet is fabulous and it's hard to beat the view straight down the Potomac. We were completely lost for places to go while the recent renovations were underway and we were worried that the brunch wouldn't be the same after they re-opened. Fortunately they made the dining room even better and the brunch is every bit as good as it always has been."

"We had reservations for lunch but didn't need them as there wasn't many people in the restaurant on a Monday. The menu offered many exciting choices. We really enjoyed the presentation of our Indian Candy salad which was fun to share. We also enjoyed the Lump Crab soup. The swordfish and Chesapeake Steam Pot where both slightly overcooked. The Mahi Mahi was a bit spicy. All in all, the food was good but not great. We were expecting much better. The butter was frozen, and no cracking tool was provided to open up the spiny crab leg which was frustrating and made a mess of my hands!"

"Restaurant has a fantastic location at the Washington Harbor. Busy, high energy area right on the waterfront. We stopped there twice. First time for a cold beer with relaxing and people watching. Good draft beer selection. Second time, we had a late lunch. Appetizers of smoked bluefish and crunchy fried shrimp. Both appetizers were accompanied by slaw type salads with just the right zip. For the main meal, my partner had the salmon and i selected the whole fried Bronzini. Both dishes were excellent and prepared just right -- not overcooked."

"From out of town, had to find a spot for a nice meal in an interesting location. Tony and Joe’s Sea Food Place worked out very well. Booked through OpenTable 1 day prior for a busy Saturday night. A band played nice upbeat jazz. There was also a large outside seating area. Busy night, but the pace of service was still great– so kudos. The crab cake connoisseur with us was happy with her selection as was the member who selected the seafood steam pot. I had a salad and steak which were very good. The chocolate cake and ice cream were nicely done."

"Our second visit within the past few weeks. We had made reservations to celebrate the 80th birthday of my mothers birthday. We had reservations for 7pm. Hitting traffic on Key Bridge, we did the right thing and called the restaurant and suggested we would be about 10 minutes late. We were told, "that's ok". We arrived at 7:07pm. With that our table was obviously given away. Every few minutes we were told it would be another 2 or 3 minutes. At 7:35pm I asked to speak with the manager. No sympathy there as I was told that' the chance you take when you're not there right on time. We were seated 10 minutes later at 7:45. We won't be back anytime soon as we found the manager a bit abrupt, the place noisy, and the food good (not great)."

"Our group of eight really enjoyed our leisurely dinner at Tony & Joe's. Service was excellent, and the Cream of Crab soup was even better. What's more, I did not realize the gratuity has been written into the overall bill, so when I left a substantial tip, our server took great pains to catch us we left to return the money. Even though I knew he was obliged to do this,I left him an additional 12 bucks."

"My family dined here on a Saturday night. This is a great location right on the water. We ate here in February so we couldn't sit outside, but it looks like a great location to do that during the summer. My mom and I both ordered the scallops, which were delicious! I would order them again. My dad and fiance ordered the salmon - I tried a piece and it was very good, but a little too peppery for my taste. While we ate, there was a live 3-piece band playing. They sounded great, but at times we had to shout a little to each other in order to be heard. It is also great for large groups - while we were there a party of 20 or more came in and were seated comfortably. Overall, our experience was great and the service was excellent."

"The seafood is always excellent but what they should have put more emphasis on is that they have carved lamb, prime rib and some other meat over to the side. Many of the brunch buffet items were not labeled lending to some guesswork. The jazz was very nice but a bit quiet and did not play long."

"This place fits the stereotype of a restaurant that has a prime spot on the waterfront that allows it to not put much effort into the quality of the food. However, the waitstaff and hostess were pleasant, so I upped the overall rating because of the service.
There was live music in an old school way. A bit cheesy but not unpleasant."

"This was our first time to the restaurant. We were pleasantly surprised and enjoyed our meal. The calamari appetizer was one of the best we've ever had. I had lobster and my husband had the fish stew. Both were also excellent. We will definitely return!"

"I took my husband here for Valentine's Day. The atmosphere was very relaxing and romantic without it being corny. The very dim lighting combined with a live jazz band made our first visit unforgettable! Although there was a diverse V Day menu, we opted for their normal entrees which was delicious! The presentation was gorgeous and the portions were a good size! The service was great as well! We will definitely return once the weather breaks!"
