"Hostess was not friendly. She literally pointed and said "Your table is over there." There were too many screeching children at 7 PM on a Saturday night. Tables were crowded. Our table was by the window, but the seats were arranged awkwardly. The guy who came to deliver the bread said "Move your menus." Service was just average. All the beer taps were NOT WORKING. Food was good though!! I was hoping for a romantic dinner but Piazza Bella didn't fit the bill!"

"We found Italy in Roscoe Village. An authentic menu with authentic preparations brought us back to the tastes of our trip last year to Italy. Perhaps the best linguine with clams ever, and their simple tomato cream sauce with fusilli, sausage and peas made my mouth so happy. Excellent Caesar salad, but ask for it without croutons, as they take up way too much of the salad space--and big enough to easily split. Crispy thin pizza with just the right amount of sauce. Dough-ey little garlic rolls and crispy bread to start made this meal wonderful from start to finish. Great waiter, too, made it all perfect. This was our first time here, but not the last."

"Great food and service as always. Acoustics and weekend crowds make it nearly impossible to have a conversation while dining, which greatly takes away from the experience. I would visit much more often if not for noise issue."

"One of our neighborhood staple restaurants - consistently high service and food quality. Had the seafood fettuccine for the first time and was excellent. The sangiovese wine was excellent as well. Went with a group of 6 - decent sized crowd but not too loud where I couldn't hear everyone at the table. Our server let us take our time and enjoy our meal and conversation."

"This was our first visit to Piazza Bella and we will definitely be going back. Food was outstanding -- great variety on their menu. Pasta and risotto was so good! Service was okay -- our server seemed stretched a bit too much. Another server waited on us during the meal and was much more attentive. Our only complaint is the strange set-up -- you need to check in with the hostess on one side of the restaurant (the main restaurant) but then we were seated on the other side -- having to go back outside to get there! There is no door connecting the two sides. Would have preferred to be seated in the main restaurant -- seemed more cozy. The other side is more of a bar feeling."
