Emilio's Tapas - Hillside
Thank you for your interest in Emilio’s Tapas. Emilio’s Tapas is an authentic Spanish Tapas Bar Restaurant conveniently located in West Suburban Hillside. Spanish cuisine can best be described as a mix of French and Italian influences; tapas are small dishes ideal for appetizers or when ordered in rounds build a complete meal. Our menu consists of regional Spanish specialties, original dishes created by Emilio offered in both the dining room and bar for dinner daily. The restaurant is casual with spacious dining rooms and an energetic atmosphere accentuated by colorful Spanish murals, music and tiles.

"Emilio's is a fantastic place to share new tastes with old friends. Emilio's has been our favorite restaurant in the Chicago area, but we moved away years ago. When we visit, we bring different friends and both sides of the family to come together and try dozens of tapas small plates. Old favorites are of course the garlic potato salad, but also the pisto manchego (mix of roasted vegetables), the beef brochette in cracked pepper with caramelized onions, and the bacon-wrapped dates. They have a number of vegetarian dishes and also work with low-carb, paleo, and probably any other diet, because you order multiple small dishes."

"We've dining at Emilio's numerous times and the food is always spot on, the service efficient without being overbearing, and the staff pleasant and helpful. The tables can be a little tight, but the food is so flavorful, especially the garlic mashed potatoes. We dining with friends who are pretty much "meat & potatoes" folk and they absolutely loved it! From the sangria to the dessert, it's always a great time and great meal."

"As usual, the food and drink are great. This evening, we were celebrating a birthday and Emilo's service and little touches (ballons, birthday card, free cake) just made it special. You must try the garlic potato salad, dates wrapped in bacon, goat cheese in tomato sauce....the list is endless of the good food here. The place does get noisy and the live music in the bar gets to be a bit too much, but otherwise, highly recommended."

"Everything here i delicious. My favorites are the bacon wrapped dates and the escargo. I get those every time. Sometimes when I go, we each have to get our own because we don't want to share! I tried the langostino stuffed with crab in a sauce that tasted like heaven. I could eat there everyday!"

"Three of us gals went and enjoyed some great food, good service and lively atmosphere. We were there on a Sat. night, so we enjoyed the live entertainment coming from the bar area. "We love tapas, and Emilio's offers fantastic food. Tapas of course, are about 'small plates,' yet my impression is that because the food is so good, Emilio's can get away charging a buck or two more per 'small plate.' It was a little noisy on Mother's Day at noon, but the service was good and the food came quickly. The food is fresh, tasty, and there are a lot of choices on the menu. This is one restaurant where I could say, if I had the money, I would eat there every day."

"It's been years since I've been to Emilio's. I used to go to their restaurant on Clark in Chicago. The food is still as excellent as I remember. The service was great. Our server was always ready with a drink refill, or to take our order for another round of tapas, yet never intrusive. The only problem I have is that the noise level was ridiculous. It was very difficult to have an conversation with my husband."

"It is always a pleasure to eat here. This time we found live entertainment, some great flamenco guitar music with a dancer too! We really enjoyed the additional perk. Chef Emillio greated us personally at our table too, a nice touch. We have never been disappinted here, we will come back soon, and especially for their Anniversary celebration in July. "Pros ---- Good food; good service; our table for 12 was set up very nice - it was a bit out of the mainstream, which was perfect as we didn't want to be blocking others. This place has an outdoor eating section; we do plan to return during the Summer months and request that we be able to sit outside. I'll keep you posted.
Cons ---- Food was just okay, in my opinion. Desserts were VERY small for the price.
---- There was air circulated from somewhere in the dining room. We were freezing almost the entire time we were there. After 3x asking them to lower the blower on the "fan", it did start warming up a bit (and it was only 55 outside; not like we needed the air conditioning)."

"This is one of my favorite neighborhood restaurants. It never disappoints. When we were there is was very busy. The wait staff still let us talk and linger after dinner. "Service was fair, liked the fact that the actual chef came around and chatted with the tables, yet the chairs were SUPER UNCOMFORTABLE!!!! I would have stayed longer and ordered more food and drinks but my legs were KILLLING me due to the chairs."

"Went here for Valentine's Day this year as a last minute date. We walked in to be seated immediately at our reservation time, which is always nice. They had a cute couple singing loves song (wonderful singers by the way! The guy sounded just like Rod Stewert!). We started with some Cava and then had sangria with dinner. Started with the meat and cheese, delish!. Bacon Wrapped Dates are always a hit and this time was no exception. We tried the special Shrimp which was HUGE! so yummy too. Those are the dished I can remember a week after... I would reccomend this spot for dates, groups, and just good food and sangira!"
