"Business dinner at White Dog this week. 3 starving business people having flown cross country (2) and across the Pacific (1) all enjoyed their dinners before collapsing from jet lag. High lights are their burger- always great, and their veggies. The fries are great but however they cook their carrots make them even better than fries, amazing!"

"I like very much the design. The service is also great. As for food - one of the entrees that we ordered - scallops, was very mediocre. Kids get a huge burger for very reasonable price.
The rest of the food was delicious. The house cabernet was great.

"I love the relaxed feel of this restaurant - just a comfortable place to be. I have been here many times and definitely would return to try more dishes. The mushroom soup was amazing and the kale salad were superb. We had the trout and salmon which were prepared to both taste and look great. The wine list is great and the Service was well-timed and friendly."

"I have been to the White Dog cafe many times. Getting to go there is a huge treat due to the expensive prices, but it is always outstanding. The truffle fries are always a personal favorite and the double cheddar burgers are amazing (especially those buns). The only problem is how close the seating is at certain tables. Otherwise it is an excellent restaurant."

"I had heard good things about this restaurant, but this was my first time here. I must say it exceeded my expectations. If you like fresh beets, the beet salad was excellent! And I tasted my husband's tuna tartare which was also wonderful. My entree, Farm and Sea was excellent as well. The portions were perfect. I was sad I didn't have room for dessert. The only thing I might suggest is a little bit more comfortable seating. I was on the bench with a pillow. If you have a bad back, ask for a table with a chair. The prices definitely suggest fine dining. I will be back, mostly likely saving this nice place for a special occasion."

"Food was fair at best. Wegmans tortellinis have more taste than this place. Burger was okay, but not as good as others would make you believe. Service stunk! Got my wife's order totally wrong. Waitress totally ignored us as well. Would have loved a 2nd drink with my meal. By the time she came back and asked, I was one bite away from finishing my meal. Bar scene looked interesting and seemed like this place might be a good place for a drink. But that would be it."

"Here's the nub: each plate seems like someone decided to throw together a variety of unrelated (and pretentiously labeled) ingredients, not because they go together and tickle the palate, but because they want to "check the box" with ingredients that sound like they dropped off a California-fresh menu.
But they do it so badly! And the ingredients are such low quality! I can hear Chef Ramsey screaming: have you TASTED this???!! I mean TASTED it???!!
Not good- I could go on but not enough "characters" left in my allotment."

"Parking lot was full & crowded. Had to park in the back and walk around the building. No walkthru available to get to the front. Our table was set up and ready for my group of 10 when we arrived. Atmosphere was great - lunch time so it was busy and a bit noisey at first but cleared out ater 2PM. Our group really enjoyed the meal!"

"Took my mother here for an early Mothers Day Dinner and everything was fabulous! She is a real foodie and is still raving about the food. Our waitress was excellent with a great sense of humor and very knowledgeable about the menu. The seafood sampler was so fresh and the tuna tartare is to die for. "I chose the White Dog Cafe in Wayne for my brother's birthday. Neither of us had been there although we live quite close. I made the reservation for 5:30 pm because I had read and heard it was noisy but we were seated in the back room which is beautifully appointed and found it very quiet.
The food was very good although the portions are small. When we left and walked thru the bar it was active although not so that we were affected where we were seated.
Give it a try.
Definitely give it a try."

"The resturant is eclectic in decor. The food was good but over priced. The service was a bit slow. In the beginning the noise level was good - we could have a conversation however by the time we left arount 7:45pm it was too noisy to enjoy each other's company or hear each other. "I met a friend from childhood for dinner so we were focused on a major catch up. Our waiter was terrific in asking us our tastes and steering us to a yummy meal. We both had the trout which was fabulous! Only tricky part is all the hard surfaces make for a lot of noise and the tables are close together so you get a great sense if community, but if you were looking for intimacy, not so much."

"My wife and I decided to celebrate our anniversary at the White Dog in Wayne. As Wayne residents, we frequently eat at many of the great restaurants in the Wayne village, however this was our first visit to the White Dog. We noticed a small line at the bottom of the menu saying we should ask our waiter about the "Chef's Menu", a prix fixe 5 course meal that the Chef creates around the diner's preferences. "This is my fourth time dining at the White Dog Cafe in Wayne, and the food and ambiance is always at a high level. With each dining visit the same thing jumps out, the service, it is poor when you compare it to the quality of food. Same great food but better service in the bar area."

"Another trip to the White Dog Cafe, this time with three first timers - and every plate was cleared of every delicious morsel. We ran the full spectrum - Scallops, Trout, Filet, and the giant pan roasted pork chop. The salads were over the moon good (try the beet salad or the burratta cheese appetizer). Couple of stiff drinks in proper proportions and price were also appreciated."

"We went to the White Dog for brunch last Sunday. It was for my daughter's birthday. What a great experience. We will definitely return for dinner and lunch. The menu was unique and everything we ordered was delicious - to include a side of fried pickles. The crab eggs benedict was great. The omelets were perfect and I had an avocado BLT that was outstanding. We and a reservation and we were seated on time - even a little early (we were so hungry we came early). The service could not have been better. The decor is French country and each room is decorated differently. We sat in the garden room with comfy couches and pillows on one side of the table. I highly recommend this restaurant. A wonderful experience."

"Our server Michael was phenomenal !!! We really enjoyed the local cheese plate, and I loved the Salumi panini. I highly recommend the ice cream sandwiches for desert or the house made sorbets!
Great atmosphere. This place gives off a really amazing vibe. From the host stand to the severs, to the management ( and of course the food) the White Dog never disappoints!
No reason to drive into the city with this restaurant so close to our home."

"This was our first time at White Dog Café in Wayne. Ryan our server was awesome. He was attentive but not overbearing and was extremely accommodating all night. The Chef Zach prepared a tasting menu for us that was outstanding. Everything that we eat was done perfectly. I would recommend the Ahi Tuna with Pork Belly, their version of Surf and Turf along with the Scallops, Oysters and Octopus. Overall it was a fantastic night. We will be heading back soon."

"I let them know we were celebrating our wedding anniversary. We were treated very well with a card at our table when we arrived. Service was first class. They brought out some fresh bread baked on premises with a honey butter. Couldn't get enough of it. The chef sent out a small cherry tomato appetizer as well. We had the five course restaurant week tasting. Every course was well done and tasted very good. I especially enjoyed the mushroom soup and the apple salad. We were surprised at the dessert course when a plate came out with a scoop of homemade ice cream arrived on top of a fresh baked cookie. On the plate in chocolate was written " happy anniversary". Not inexpensive, but it's great to be pampered every now and then."
