"J&K was a recommendation from my boss. The steak and ambience was amazing! I love that is it is byob making the bill cheaper in the end. I got the pre fixe menu and everything was fabulous and portions are generous. The only reason I gave four stars on service was because there was only one server for the whole restaurant. Being in the hospitality business I understand the pressure he had on him and the service was still great just a little slow in between courses. However I do recommend J&K to anyone."

"We had high hopes for J&R Steakhouse, but we ended up disappointed. The main dining room was incredibly noisy - so much so that it was difficult to carry on a conversation. Service was uneven. My husband ordered the larger of the pre-fix menus, but they never brought his soup. We told our waiter when they brought the entrees and asked him to take it off the bill. When the bill came, it had not been removed and we had to ask again.
About the food--my husband ordered the garlic shrimp on the pre-fix menu. The dish consisted of 3 smll shrimp in a garlic sauce! That's an appetizer portion?

"Service was good. Our waiter knew the menu and was very accommodating to our needs. My wife had the bone in ribeye - she said it was dry. I had the filet Mignon - it was tender and cooked to my liking. Though lacking seasoning. I would have been nice with a source which this restauratant does not offer (of any kind) - only A1 steak source. The side dishes were OK."

"J&K features quality meat cooked to your specifications. With 3 and 4 course meal deals and BYO alcohol you get a fine steakhouse meal at a very reasonable price for the quality. But go for the food. The atmosphere is nothing special and the service is a bit spotty. The waiters always seem a bit stretched and the assistant staff aren't well trained. At our last visit, water wasn't refilled and the coffee order took three tries to get right. Fun place to go with 2-3 couples looking to have a serious steak and enjoy loud boisterous conversation. We go regularly and don't hesitate to recommend."

"Been here many times, my favorite steakhouse. Steaks rival that of more expensive steakhouse such as Flemings and Ruth's Chris but priced more slightly less. The shrimps in galic and sausage appetizers are amazing. The (2) price fix options are very reasonable and include an app, salad or soup, entree and dessert. Remember bring your own wine as they do not have liquor license, the staff are happy to open and serve your drink."

"the steaks were very good, cooked just right. the atmosphere is average, def not a steak house feel. but maybe thats what they are going for?? the wait staff while overly attententive which made us feel rushed. they definitely need to polish up on their skills. one picked up a glass from the top of the rim which is a no no. being our first time there, i found it strange the hostess punched one of my guests in the arm after telling what she thought was a funny line."

"I've eaten here twice. Both times the food was excellent. The menu is not particularly creative (nor should it be, it's a steak house), but the food is prepared perfectly. I had a steak, and it was outstanding. The service has gotten better, though it still isn't quite up to the level of perfection that the food has achieved. If you want excellent food, not top-end prices (though it's still not cheap!) and a comfortable atmosphere go here. If you want the more traditional steak house high end service and prices (and food that isn't as good) go to the other steak house in town."

"The food was good, but pricey. I ordered the from the 3 course price-fixe menu, which was $50.00. The salad and dessert were quite good, but the dinner entree looked ridiculous on that large white plate with just a 10 oz. filet mignon and a teeny tiny onion. That was it! There was also a small dish of skinny fresh fries on the table that the four of us had to share. Not impressive! The filet mignon was good, but with so little on the plate, the meal looked a bit chintzy. Really, for the price they charge, how much does a piece of broccoli cost???"

"We had been to J&K twice in the past and enjoyed. However, this time the service was slow. Although we told the waiter we had Mayo theater tickets, he ignored us for long time periods, to the point that we did not have time for coffee or dessert. And, while the medium-rare sliced NY strip steaks we each ordered were tasty and broiled to medium-rare, they were tough and certainly not the quality one should receive from a steak house."

"Our service was not what one would expect when dining at a fairly upscale steakhouse. Within 10 minutes of placing our dinner order the appetizers were served. Our entrees were served within minutes of barely finishing our appetizers. No sooner had the waiter cleared our dinner entrees that the dessert menus were given to us. We had to ask the waiter to give us a few minutes to enjoy our wine but he did not listen again our fruit plate was delivered within a few minutes. We were done with dinner in an hour and fifteen minutes,not a pleasurable dining experience . Felt service was robotic and impersonal. We will never recommend or dine at this restaurant again. Also the salmon entree was tasteless. The hostess"

Service was decent but not warm, (Not once did they refill our wine glasses)

"First time @ J+K's and it's a definite "keeper" (i.e., I'll return often because it's was an excellent outing). Started with shared appetizers of slices of "flambe" chorizo (although no flames at the table, which I was actually expecting) and a series of tomato and mozzarella "sandwiches", with just the right amount of balsamic (with tomatoes that were much better than usual for February), entrees were steaks, of course my wife's, the kiddie portion of sliced NY strip and mine the "small" (1lb) bone-in ribeye, both very, very good and finished up with a shared apple bread pudding w/rum raisin ice cream, just perfect.

"The filet mignon was really good, (which for $46 it should be!). Service was a little slow and hard to get somebodies attention.

"This was our forth time going to J&K Steakhouse. I was a little nervous this time because we've had bad experiences dining on holidays in the past. The food was always so so, or they brought out your dessert with your dinner. Well I'm so glad we went on Valentine's day the food, the service was magnificent as usual. I love this place, if you've never gone you don't know what your missing. A true gem in Morristown!!! Byob is an extra plus."

"My wife and I had been wanting to try a BYOB Steak House, which we had never heard of before. So on our way to a show, we decided to make a reservation, and we were pleasantly surprised. The food was delicious, and the BYOB certainly helped to keep the cost down from a typical good steak house. We will go back for sure."
