Eolo, Italian for Aeolus, is ruler of the wind. According to mythology, Eolo lived on a small, volcanic island off the coast of Sicily. He was a favorite among the Greek gods. Eolo gave Odysseus a wine bag filled with wind to speed his historic voyage home. Yet, nearly home, Odysseus's curious crew opened the bag, the winds escaped and their ship was pulled back to the Sicilian archipelago.
Sicily has been a cultural crossroads, inhabited by the Greeks, Romans, Phoenicians, Arabs, Normans, Jews, Bourbons and beyond. It has kept the best of these cultures and incorporated them into its own. At Eolo restaurant, food is thought to be a source of great pleasure as well as an insight into the culture and history of Sicily and its archipelago. We offer Sicilian-inspired dishes, desserts and an extensive selection of unique Sicilian wines. Enjoy a meal at Eolo and experience Melissa's love letter to the region of Sicily.
"Came to Eolo with my family for lunch to celebrate my son's graduation and it was OK...not great...kind of pricey...but OK. We had the lunch menu steak, a nicely done arugula salad, home made pasta some nice desserts - all good but nothing special. We spent over 200 dollars for a lunch for 4 for good, but ordinary, cuisine...the hit of the day was the Sicilian Red wine and the service was good, but we were the only people in the place so it couldn't be bad...we won't be back."

"The food at Eolo is some of the best Sicilian food I have ever eaten. The pasta con sarde is delectable, the appetizers extraordinary, the dessert divine. But the place was virtually empty! It could be the disorganized service, or the uninspired ambience, but put that aside and go enjoy some extraordinary food and save this place from going out of business!!"

"Eolo's menu was a welcome change from typical Italian - enjoyed making a selection of Sicilian specialities. Homemade pasta was wonderful and service unobtrusive but attentive. Good selection of wines. I would definitely go back for well prepared food that is reasonably priced."

"What a find, a return to my Sicilian heritage in food! Could not believe we tasted food from our childhood. The Pasta con Sarde,as we called it,(Bucatini cu le sarde)was perfect, authentic. I’m sure many Italian foodies haven’t tasted this (these) unique dish.Purpo cu ciciri and Sagnarelli cu ragu di carni more winners."

"Lovely fare for lunch. The mixed appetizer of three choices from several is still a favorite. This time we included broccoi rabe which was so fresh and tasteful with parmeasan cheese sliced into it. My friend and I split a frittata which was a nice sized portion and we really appreciated the filtered coffee, nice touch."

"It was ok - very quiet as it was a Monday night but that didn't seem to make the staff any more attentive. Food was good although the lamb special had an inordinate amount of fat. And don't order a dry martini - they haven't got a clue."

"the octopus was really good; my dish which was tuna on a bed of delicious veggies was outstanding. on the other hand my husband had a ragu which was quite ordinary.
the dessert which was cannoli in a cone shape was very yummy."

"Food was good - but they served it too quickly. They brought the appitizers within 5 minutes of us ordering, and then the dinner before we were done with the apps."

"Though I enjoyed this restaurant very much, it was way too expensive for the neighborhood & what we ordered. At $150 a couple the place should be amazing not good or vey good. Hopefully they will adjust their price point & be able to stay around a little longer."

"I found this restaurant to be a perfect spot for a quiet lunch. Eolo has a quaint, authentic Italian atmosphere making it a perfect spot for conversing with your table companions. The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner which is good to know. The menu has lots of wonderful Italian dishes to choose from. There is even a special 3 course lunch menu which we selected which is an incredible value. Eolo has a very nice selection of Italian wines to complement your meal. The service is efficient and not rushed. Will definitely return!"

"Disappointed by the restaurant week prix fixe. The entree portion was very small, and would have cost less to order off the regular menu. That said, it was delicious."

"had restaurant week dinner. adequate choices but result somewhat dull. v. capable cooking and interesting food but somehow it didn't matter. also, though a prix fixe this time, seemed unduly pricey on regular menu."

"Cozy and small with a very enjoyable experience. Staff couldn't be more friendly and attentive. Service was excellent. Food and wine was fabulous. The pasta with short rib ragu and swordfish were both outstanding. Portion sizes were just right. Looking forward to a return visit to try more dishes."

"Eolo was much more than I anticipated. Food was great! Service was great! The atmosphere was also great! Very mellow and warm restaurant with wonderful servers. Went for dinner during Restaurant Week and I was blown away at how comfortable the setting was. There was no rush for you to leave and you can see everyone there was truly enjoying themselves and the food."

"Went there for Restaurant Week with two friends (3 choices per course). It's small and cosy, and actually quiet enough so you don't need to yell to talk to your fellow diners.
I got the Arancini di risu (rice ball stuffed with meat ragu & cheese), Cuscusu di pisci (seafood with toasted almond couscous) and Torta di Tomazzu (goat cheese cheesecake balls with salt crust & strawberry gelato). Everything was delicious and portion sizes were just right.
Our reservation was for 2, but a friend wanted to join at the last minute (and subsequently ran very late) and they were very accommodating. It would have been nice if they'd brought over the complimentary bread while we waited but that was a very minor let down on otherwise good service."

"The food was good but service was some of the worst ever. Even though the restaurant was not crowded, the staff was missing in a ction. We were never even offered coffe with dessert or asked if we anted an additional glass of wine. Can't see how this place will make it."

"A surprising Sicilian cuisine, mini timbalu and wonderful choice of appetizers. We split the three appetizer special with caponata, burrata and beet salad. These were three of several choices. The caponata was perfection and had a Sicilian twist with raisins to give it that added sweetness. We also split the timballa, which they call timmulu, layers of pasta and vegetables baked in a pastry shell. It was more than enough for two people. They had homemade ice cream, expresso and nutella or hazelnut were the ones we chose, both quite delicious. We liked the restaurant so much we went a second time within a few days."
