Sambuca Restaurant - Nashville
Dining to a different beat...Sambuca has the perfect recipe for the Gulch in Nashville. Guests are served the ultimate combination of 4-star cuisine, luxurious surroundings and a showcase of first class musical performances for a rare and extraordinary dining experience
"Unfortuately, I found that the food, particularly for the prices charges, was merely good. In other words, none of the dishes our party ordered was so good that we want to come back and try something else. I can see coming for the music and some appetizers, but not a dinner. Drinks were tasty but virtually non-alcoholic. Sorry."
"Everything was good except for the food. We ordered appetizers only and they were greasy and cold. Just not very good for the price. Expected better quality."
"this was our 4th time at sambuca. they were able to seat us in a booth, as we had requested. the food & drinks are delicious, especially their Tiger Blood cocktail and the Buca beignets (it's worth the drive just for the beignets). the cracked pepper scallops were fantastic too. my only complaint -- and it's the same complaint every time -- is that the band was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too loud! so, if you want a romantic/other dinner where you can talk to your companions, maybe consider going somewhere else, or plan on an early meal. we got there at 530 & the band had just started around 7. overall, this is an excellent restaurant, very attentive service, awesome food."

"Request to sit away from the stage. It is VERY loud so it's impossible to have a conversation while the band is playing if you're sitting inside. The front desk staff was rude and overwhelmed. I called to say that we were running late and a gentleman said that was perfectly fine. When we arrived (10 minutes later), the hostess had given our table away. We ended up sitting outside. The service was slow and sporadic and the food was just OK. Certainly not worth the prices. My group came for a very special occasion and was extremely let down. I would not come again."
"We were celebrating our 22nd anniversary and wanted to try a new restaurant. Having never been to the Gulch before, I thought it would be perfect for our evening. I selected the Sambuca after perusing their menu and largely because they had live music. We were not disappointed! The ambiance was perfect - romantic yet lively. We enjoyed a great Pinot Noir at the bar and with our dinner. I had the flat iron steak while my husband had salmon. Our meals were excellent! The creme brulee, my favorite dessert, was amazing - the best ever! We really enjoyed the live music which was a group playing music from the 70's, 80's. Our service was excellent, both at the bar and at our table. We could not have asked for a better evening!"

"The server was excellent. She was very attentive without being overbearing and never let our glasses get to half full. Our appetizer was out within less than 10 minutes of ordering. We arrived at 9:45 and we were finished by 10:30, and my husband ordered a steak. The music was great without being annoying or too loud. I consider the music at Hard Rock to be "too loud for dinner" if you need a comparison. They accomplished a perfect balance of restaurant, lounge, sports bar, and dance club. Perfection. I would have liked if the seasoning in my food was more prominent, but irregardless, I would go back because service, location, decor, everything was excellent. My husband and I went for our anniversary and they sat us in the perfect location."

"Dined at the Easter Buffet. Food was great - delicious and well presented. Staff was friendly and our waiter was excellent - just the right amount of attention and very professional. The complimentary valet service is a definite bonus."
"I have eaten ther many times, and it was my favorite place. This last time, all our steaks were undercooked. And waitress came off a little unfriendly."
"Normally, this is a WONDERFUL restaurant; however, we had reservations for 1:30 for a party of 7. Unfortunately, we weren't seated until 2:00 p.m. Usually, this would be a minor inconvenience, but when your with older people and they have medical issues, mealtimes are important. I know they had a large party that had been there since 11:00 a.m., but, there should've been other accommodations for us. Just so you know, my Granddad is 90 years old and can't climb stairs.
Additionally, there should be more of a seating area for those waiting for a table and those either trying to leave or go to the buffet. Because of the long wait and not enough areas to wait, I felt like I was constantly in someone's way."

"Food was ok. Live music nice but geared toward older crowd (think elevator music). One of the people in the band bussed the tables during the break. That was worth going just to see that :)."
"This restaurant was disappointing, we had a reservation but they seated us (a couple) at the worst table in the house right next to a private birthday party and another large group, we couldn't hear ourselves or see the band so we asked to be moved which they did accommodate but we were there for well over an hour before we saw any food. The lounge staff was really nice and the kitchen was fast, probably to make up for the strange service in the dining room. The food was ok but everything was overpriced. The only reason we didn't get up and leave was because we knew the folks in the band."
"The food was great, we were seated right in front of the band (great for live music lovers, bad for conversation, but I loved it), and the server was very helpful. I think in the warmer weather with the patio open it would be even better!"

"Amazing atmosphere, great food (including dessert) and stellar drinks! I toke my husband here for his birthday and both he and I were very happy with the service. Our waitress was amazing (offered great suggestions on every aspect of the meal), along with everything else, including the live music. We will definitely be back!"

"I really enjoyed having dinner at this restaurant. The atmosphere was very relaxing. The live band was incredible. The food was excellent, the drinks were excellent, and the service was non-less than 5 star. I had the sea bass and it melted in my mouth. What I enjoyed the most was the fact that this restaurant attracts business professional class people that want to have a nice meal, a drink, and some entertainment."

"Excelent restaurant. The food was delicious from starter to dessert. Prices are like any fine dinning restaurant, but not over pricey (+$20-mid $30's). Live music on stage playing nice music, but not too loud so, it was the perfect scenario for me and my husband romantic dinner. The service were EXCELENT. I definitely recommend this place and will return as well!"

"The experience at Sambuca could have been an awesome one had it not been for the cold food we were served. The decor, the ambiance and the service were great... our appetizers came out luke warm to cool... but there were only 3 pieces, and we didn't think much about it... the main dish provided the same... we were celebrating our anniversary and did not complain ... just did not want to have to deal with that."

"Loved the atmosphere. Our server was on the ball and very attentive. Being a musician I really enjoyed the band and it was nice hearing someone that actually knew how to use their equipment. We were able to talk without having to shout and still enjoy the music."
"Made reservation with instructions to be seated away from stage. She sits us directly in front of it. Requested to be place at another table and was told could sit upstairs and requested not to sit upstairs but would rather be seated downstairs. Was told to hang out for next available table and was sat upstairs anyway!! While waiting one of the bartenders messed two drinks up and was onoy concerned with himself and chatting with friends or regulars. Horrid bartender. Food was decent but not great. Or waiter was very nice tho and his service was great. Food,...disappointing. been here several times in the past and has seemed to have gone down hill overall. Will not return."
"We completly loved our experience. They had a badnt that played at a wonderful level so we did not have to strain to hear each other. The ambience and food were both top notch!"

"Came here for a birthday dinner with friends, food was great, the place is beautiful. One of my guests was a few months pregnant and she asked if there were any virgin drinks available. Our waiter just shook his head and proceeded to take our orders.I felt like we didn't get a indefinite answer,so I asked again and this time he verbally said no and made a little joke which was fine, we just didn't appreciate his dismissive attitude before. His personality also seemed forced. He had a natural interaction with others, but once he started serving us again, his personality, smiles, etc. just seemed forced which me and all of my guests noticed.Other than that everything was great."

"We were disappointed with our experience at Sambuca. Asked for cozy booth, got loud table. Food was average. Great view on 3rd level. Very pricey food/drinks for what you get. I can see how a college aged group would think this was a good place, Very loud."
"We love sambuca but it is so dark in there you can hardly read the menu. There was love music which was great. They gave a good menu with lots of different selections. I love the champagne chicken. My daughter had the scallops which were good but the risotto was tasteless. My husband had the lobster enchiladas a which he enjoyed."

"My fiance and I went here for our Valentine's Day dinner last Friday and we both really enjoyed everything. The staff was warm and welcoming. We were taken to a table for two right in front of the stage where later Chris Weaver played with his band. The ambiance was incredibly low-key, romantic, and our server was incredible. She was attentive, knew the menu and drink list like the back of her hand, and was great for suggesting dishes for us when we asked. I would, without a doubt, come back here for another romantic date night. We may actually make this one of "our spots" around Nashville. I highly recommend Sambuca for the atmosphere, the service, and the food. Don't forget to try the Tiramisu (it is fantastic!)."

"I love the food at Sambuca! They have a really good selection rather you're just wanting appetizers or a full meal. It's a pretty cool atmosphere as they usually have live music. However, it can get a little noisy and crowded. It's a little pricey. For me and my husband to have an appetizer, dinner and a few drinks we always pay at least $100. But I would definitely recommend it!"
