"The service was outstanding. Our waitress was knowledgeable and very helpful. The restaurant is a vibrant, colorful little spot that offers a lot of different neat food options. Definitely a place to try if you've never been there."

"The tapas were wonderful and the waitress was terrific about checking on us just enough to make sure all was well. She did an excellent job refilling our wine glasses. The shellfish were slightly overcooked, which often happens in many restaurants. The paella is perfect for someone who loves a tasy variety of proteins. I give it 5 noms-- om nom nom nom nom nom!"

"The tapas dishes were really tasty. We sampled 6-8 and most everyone in our group liked all but one. The atmosphere is lively, casual, and fun as is the decor of the restaurant. Our service was terrific with orders coming out quickly and accurately and timely beverage refills. We loved having a 1/2 price special on sangria, which was delicious. We had a really good time at La Bodega and will be returning with more friends or relatives."

"I've never had a bad experience at La Bodega. Good service, quaint atmosphere and totally excellent food. I love the tapas menu and have never been disappointed in anything I've ordered. They could probably fill a restaurant several times the size of the one they have, but somehow it wouldn't be quite the same experience anywhere else."

"La Bodega is a fun tappas restaurant. The food quality was very good, lots of options, and well priced. The sangria (red) was excellent. My only complaint was the noise. It was so loud that it was difficult to hear our server. I would not recommend it for a large group, but we will definitely go back."

"My two friends and I chose to be at LaBodega on a Friday during Happy Hour. We each chose two items from the Happy Hour menu and also we ordered a pitcher of the red sangria. We thought the sangria was delicious. The food items, however, didn't appeal to us. I guess I am not used to eating so much toasted bread. My friend said the squid was chewy, I thought the meatballs in garlic cream sauce were rubbery. The white bean dip was pretty good, as was the skewered chicken and chorizo. We decided that we should have chosen items from the regular menu. The service was very good. Our waitress was friendly and knowledgeable. Will I come back? Probably not. I had wanted to try it for quite some time, and I'm glad I finally did."

"We went to La Bodega last Friday and the service and the food was absolutely amazing. The host at the door was great, and kept us entertained while we waited for our table. What followed was quite possibly the best sangria I've had in KC...and delectable food to boot. I will be back soon...and especially in the summer to check out the scene from the terrace."

"We have dined at La Bodega before but were not happy with our experience last week. The food came out so quickly that (a) it couldn't have been fresh, and (b) we felt rushed through what was supposed to be our anniversary dinner. The restaurant wasn't very crowded, so you'd think they would have let us have a leisurely dinner. The meatballs in particular tasted like they had just come out of a freezer bag."

"This restaurant is an excellent experience! The interior is eye catching. The customers are too. We were greeted by a gentleman perhaps the manager as we parked our car right out front. Our waiter was very attentive and kind. He was patient with us as we had never been there before. The sweet white sangria is wonderful!! This is a great couples or girls night restaurant. Truly wonderful! We can not wait to back again. Do not miss going there!"

"The half-price tapas and sangria during happy hour were great. We had dinner for four persons with one drink each for $60. It is a small restaurant and the noise level was pretty high when it filled up. The servers were attentive and removed serving plates quickly as they were emptied. "Loved the food. It was wonderful. The service was great. On the down side, the portions were quite small when compared to the price that we paid. I would definitely suggest taking full advantage of their happy hour (half off appetizers and drinks) because everything is a little pricey. Or save this place for a nice date. It's best to park in front of the restaurant where there is better lighting."
