From the Siri Group, a family business that owns and operates four highly acclaimed restaurants in the San Francisco Bay Area; the original Sweet Basil Thai Restaurant, Basil Thai Restaurant and Bar, Basil Canteen and Soi Four Bangkok Eatery is proud to bring our newest addition Soi Four Bangkok Eatery to Scottsdale.
"Soi" is a Thai word for side streets or alleyways that, together, form the essential lifeline that makes up the fabric of Bangkok city. Like the city, our menu is a modern take on the traditional through the use of fresh local ingredients, sustainable practice, and creative approach to authentic Thai dishes. At Soi 4, we also offer Thai inspired artisanal cocktails and a wide variety of local and imported beers.
….influenced, accented, tinged, anything but "fusion'. We like to see it as a beginning of something interesting.
Chai yo – Cheers!
"Not your prototypical Thai menu. No traditional pad thai, for example. When you walk in you understand that red, green, yellow, and massaman curry will not be in abundance. Are short ribs and Atlantic salmon found in Thailand? Probably not. It was a different blended culture "Thai" dining experience. Medium spicy here amounts to about one star out of five at other Thai restaurants. The ambiance was "hi-tech." Service was efficient and thoughtful. With hard surfaces in the restaurant, we were pleased that the noise level was manageable for conversation. Perhaps the high ceiling ameliorated the decibel level. Parking was easy/ breezy in the shopping center parking lot--no intrusive de rigeur "no-fee" (but we do take tips) valet."

"I heard about this place in Bay Area and I know that they came to Scottsdale to open...so I had to try it couple years ago. Since then, I'm a fan! Everything's very tasty! Only thing is they're trying to be "upscale" so it's a bit pricey compared to your average Thai place and the portions are small. But the taste is worth it. Panang Neur and their roti are my favorites, but their whole fried red snapper isn't worth $30. For two pounds of fish, there's hardly enough meat on the bone to go around for 4 people."

"My fiancee aren't hardcore Thai fans, and it's sometimes difficult to have Thai food that tastes amazing. That being said, we've been very impressed with two Thai restaurants in Phoenix, Latitutde 8 and Soi Four. The dish i had at Soi Four wasn't amazing, but it was delicious. The drinks at Soi Four really are unique and full of flavor. The chicken curry dish that my fiancee had was the highlight of the evening. The restaurant has a very metro feel when you're there and the service was great. If you want to have good Thai food in Scottsdale, drop by Soi Four and enjoy yourself."

"The menu was a little limited, but what they had was fantastic. I had the papaya salad and duck curry and both were delicious. Our server was very attentive and polite. We would definitely recommend this place to friends."

"Had a great evening with friends. Food and service were exceptional. Server was very helpful in selecting glutein free options. Sunday evening special of 50% off bottles of wine added to our pleasure. Will definitely return and recommend to others!"

"We had dinner with a group of five. The food was outstanding, up there with the very best Thai food. I can particularly recommend the fish and seafood dishes, which are fresh, tasty, and interesting. The price was VERY reasonable. We paid around $50 per head including two rounds of drinks, taxes and tips. Unfortunately the service was not up to standard. We showed up at 7:30, but our first round of drinks came at 7:55 when the waiter also took our order. The place was not even that busy (about two thirds full). I am used to much better service in the valley.
Overall, I will go again because of the food."

"The food was really good but it took a long time to get it. We were there for lunch so we only had an hour. We had to eat our food very fast because it arrived much later than expected. Will hestitate to eat there again for lunch strictly due to the time constraints. However, the food was wonderful!!"

"We have enjoyed many evenings having dinner at Soi Four in Scottsdale. Even brought our young granddaughter when she visited us. She loved the food and the waitstaff treated us very well. We probably eat there once or twice a month, and food is always very good"

"This was our first time eating Thai food & thus our first time at Soi 4. The restaurant, while casual has an understated sophistication. We enjoyed a couple of beers from Thailand & ordered appetizers. The fresh mustard leaf wraps stuffed with roasted coconut, prawns, sweet palm & herbs was to die for. The spicy corn cakes were also very good. Our entrees were ample & intruigingly delicious - wok-fried crispy sliced chicken & green beans and the prawns & fried eggplant with basil chili wine sauce. Both had a "kick" but were not overpowering. We couldn't pass up dessert & had the fried banannas & coconut ice cream and the crispy mango w/vanilla ice cream. We very much enjoyed our 1st venture into Thai food & Soi 4 was the place to go."

"Food was fair at best. Flavors were weak and dishes were average at best. We ate several dishes from traditional dishes to basic Thai curry dishes to get a good sample.I would also mention we had a glass of wine we sent back which had clearly been old. (Yuk) I expected quite a bit more based on the reviews I read. There are some good Thai restaurants in town, I don't consider this one of them. Restaurant was quite nice as was the atmosphere. If you want a nice atmosphere with average Thai food this will be for you."
