"We have dined in more than one Ruth's Chris Steakhouse. This location was among the better restaurants in that chain. The wait staff were patient, thoughtful and pleasant. The steaks were wonderful, as to be expected. The cost of a meal with a prime steak, perfectly cooked to preferred doneness and a nice bottle of wine is a pretty penny. It's definitely worth going to for that special occasion. My mother was delighted and that's what counts on Mothers Day!"

"We dined at Ruth's Chris for Mothers' Day celebration. It was quite busy-- evidence that a lot of people had a similar (good) idea. The Ruth's Classic was our choice with salad, a petit filet, a side and dessert. Everything was excellent and the steaks superb. If you love steak you can't do better than Ruth's Chris.
The service was first-rate. The wait staff was attentive without being overbearing. For those readers who are familiar with the European restaurant service traditiions you will get a similar feel -- the staff is timely and helpful without a sense of lurking."

The wait staff did not bother us one bit during our dinning expierience, however they were extremely attentive and on the spot as soon as we were done with each dish. "Typical Ruth's Chris! The service was friendly, attentive and polished. Beef was very good, cooked to order perfectly. The fresh asparagus was from Mexico, rather than fresh from the local Stockton farmers. That surprized us since it is Asparagus Festival season in the area. I guess chains do not buy fresh local, they buy from Mexico. Unfortunately, the asparagus was a little tough. Lobster bisque, very good. The server fulfilled my request for caramelized bananas dessert.Restaurant is not downtown, is about 20 minutes from downtown area. Restaurant is in a shopping center and a little hard to find. The address provided for using GPS didn't help, had to work hard to locate. Perhaps Ruth's chain should consider LOCAL FRESH VEGGIES."

"This restaurant consistently delivers on what it promises; excellent qualilty, properly prepared dishes, professional service, in an attractive and welcoming setting. The focus is on the beef, but the poultry and fish offerings are prepared with the same high standards. The lighter entrees, such as the ravioli, the dinner salads, etc., are an attractive alternative to the heavier choices. The bar offers properly prepared cocktails and the wine list is extensive. Whether it is a special occasion or we just want a great meal, this is a frequent choice."

"We had a 50th birthday celebration for a party of 6 and they had the table decorated with happy birthday confetti which was very nice. The servers, busboys and asst manager all gave birthday wishes. The food was good except my steak was undercooked and I had to wave down someone to send it back. When it did arrive, the steak was a bit overcooked and no longer enjoyable. Was disappointed especially since the steak was over $50 alone. Everyone else enjoyed their meal and the special dessert of the evening, banana cream pie was fabulous."

"HORRIBLE Experience and even worse service by our waitress. I am not sure what Ruth's Chris' protocol is for hiring but they struck out hiring this person. Long, Long, wait time between courses, no re-fills on beverages and in the end an argument over the bill. The bill was $234.00 we left $270 and the stupid waitress stated that we had shorted her by $14.00. What? The way I saw it is that she didn't deserve any kind of tip but we wanted to get out of there after spending 3 hours AND they weren't even busy. Maybe 1/2 full if even that. Absolutely no excuse for such poor service. I have eaten at this establishment several times in the past with no issue. I do not believe I will be going back!!!"

"The dinner and service were excellent. We had our 10 year old granddaughter with us, and our waiter, Rebecca, made her feel right at home and special. We appreciated that. Both Rebecca and her helper, David, took very good care of us. In fact, when we left the restaurant, our granddaughter told the manager that Rebecca and David should get the Employee of the Month reward."

"Our family went here to celebrate a birthday (party of 8) and had some special requests: ground beef my elderly mom could handle (she'd had a tooth pulled a few days before) and smaller meals for our younger grandchildren (the waiter said they could fix some steak sandwiches) and a burger for the teenager. None of these items was on the menu and prices charged were very reasonable. We were so impressed by how accommodating the waiters were. We'd eaten here several times in the past, so we knew the food and service would be excellent, but Ruth's Chris also goes out of its way to make things perfect. They even scattered some birthday glitter on the table and brought one of our desserts with a candle in it."

"I don't know why we had never been to a Ruth's Chris but we had a gift card and our daughter was home from school so we decided to go. It was absolutely fabulous. Our server, Paula, was a delight -- knowledgeable about the wines, accommodating about our orders (they substituted scallops for shrimp in the filet/shrimp combo), and professional yet friendly. Our food was cooked perfectly. Although not cheap, I feel like the food justified the price. We will be back."

"My husband, daughter and I dined at your Sacramento restaurant on Saturday. We were seated by a nice hostess. A group of four people were seated behind us moments later. They were immediately welcomed by a waiter, "Welcome to Ruth's Chris." They were served cocktails as we waited for water, bread drink order. After 8-10 minutes my husband finally flagged down a waiter who took our drink order. ( not his able) Eventually our server came to the table,all smiles, no apologizes, and took our food order. I love your restaurant , but you need help with the servers. We never saw a manager walk around like the"old days". Will you ever implement a dress code again? My husband was in a coat, my daughter and I were in dresses. People were in jeans."

"The food was outstanding (including perfectly cooked steaks) as was the wine selection and the support service staff excellent, but our waitress/server was way too pushy. I mentioned I wanted only two side dishes, but she loudly proclaimed we should have three (3rd one ended up uneaten). Though she originally informed us of all add-on shrimp, sauce, etc., options, she still encouraged them when taking each order. I felt as if she were on commission, trying to sell us more than we wanted of everything...not what I expected from such a fine restaurant. "When it comes to steak, Ruth's Chris Steakhouse is second to none. Friday night was no exception. It's expensive and great for special occasions. It was busy. Diana was our waitress. She was very good, friendly and had some helpful suggestions. I had the special Kansas City Strip with blue cheese and my wife had the traditional filet."

The food was amazing...my rib eye was perfect, and Hubby couldn't stop raving about his filet. Kudos for a delicious lobster bisque, a great caesar salad, and warm bread w/soft butter. Our apple crumble dessert was divine...

"This was my first experience at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse and was blown away by the service! The food was spectacular. Crab stuffed mushrooms were delicious and the filet was cooked to perfection! "Overall it was ok. The service was lacking, water glasses were slow to be filled on initial request. Wait staff to "talkative" asking about the Super Bowl. The Ruth Chris in Denver does a much better job of serving the lobster bisque, brings a hot bowl, placing the lobster in the bowl at table and then pouring in the bisque in front of you, Sacramento just brought a bowl of soup. lacked presentation. Also very tired of all restaurant wait staff who are now being taught to ask "How does everyting taste"? They must all be attending the same seminar from staff at Mimi's to the five star restaurants. I think the service was fine, but they're many things to do to bring the level up to extraordinary."

"This was our first visit to this location. We knew that this is a steak house, perfect for our carnivore grandchildren. Our group thought that the food was outstanding. The filets were done perfectly. The vegetable sides, Brussel Sprouts and sauteed spinach were delicious. The server was pleasant and efficient. The noise level in this restaurant was great...we could converse in normal speech levels, unusual in most restaurants. We plan to return to this restaurant during one of our future visits to Sacramento."

"Food was fabulous and the staff had sprinkled the table with confetti in honor of the birthday we were celebrating. Best of all, after all the exquisite platters had been served and consumed, the staff brought out a huge chocolate lava cake complete with birthday candle. Only negative is the fact that about 20 percent of the other diners must have thought they were there to do automotive repairs. At least they were dressed in baggy jeans, polo shirts and baseball caps. It appears that any thought of a dress code at expensive restaurants (dinner for two, $225 including tip) has vanished."
