"Took my lady out for her birthday, as she had been there for lunch before and I have never been. I ordered the rib eye steak and she went for the tenderloin. Both were absolutely delicious, cooked just as ordered and I couldn't get enough of the Rosemary Smashed Baby Potatoes. A nice bottle of wine and a couple of after dinner "special coffees" topped things off. The only tthing better than the food was the service, It was a relatively quiet night and our waiter paid close attention to us and made sure we felt welcomed without being intrusive. Our wine glasses were kept full and he even made sure our after dinner coffees arrived just as we were on our last sips of wine. Nice finish to an excellent night out."

"I've been here several times and will return again for lunch or dinner. I'm looking forward to warmer weather so I can try the patio. Service is amazing. The staff is well informed and their suggestions for food and wine were spot on the money. Portion sizes are on the smaller side so are perfect for those of us who enjoy a great experience trying new things without any guilt and you can actually enjoy an appetizer and a meal."

"We had a lovely evening at Madison's. The food was very good and the service impeccable. The only disappointment was the location of our table. We reserved in advance indicating that this was a special occasion. Our table was adjacent to the coat check room. Next time we will insist on a better location."

"I have I visited the Grill many times. The service and food are always excellent!! However, The last two times I have dined there have been large groups..My thought ( and the thoughts ofI my guests ) were that the dining room was not large enough to accommodate the groups and as the noise level was too high. Last night I had to select a spot to dine and instead selected the Mac for its quieter ambience. Perhaps the larger groups could be accommodated in a seperate room?"

"Service is slow, so it's not a place to go if you have limited time. It's a very quiet restaurant with a more formal ambience - so it's a great place for a business lunch, group event, or special occasion. The menu is a bit limited, but generally well-seasoned and well-prepared."

"This was our first time at Madison's Grill. It was a special occasion meal. The atmosphere was nice but the food was extremely salty and poor quality. 3 people at our table ordered the 9 oz AAA rib eye steak....the steak was about 0.5 inches thick, full of sinew, chewy and not tender. This was not AAA...more like a steak you'd get at Smitty's or a diner. Another person had the Coq au Vin - skin on the chicken was so crusty and tough that it was hard to cut...sauce was so salty. The vegetables and presentation of the food were good. The appetizers were also good. We ordered the Chocolate Lava Cake for dessert....was horrible....it was something like a weird jello and pudding combined. The server was attentive but odd. Not worth the $ at all."

"Second visit to the Madison.... the service was exceptional. Waiter was extremely professional and a wonderful sense of humor. Overall a very nice experience. Food was great and presentation was attractive. Some "regular" customers were quite loud and brash.... seem to think they were the only ones there. Waiter did apologize for their rudeness but not much else he could do. Would go back again."

"The decor was elegant, and the space was of a moderate size; cozy and not cramped (I say cozy in a positive way). My friend and I each had the Executive Dinner for $50, consisting of a Seafood Risotto to start, Striploin/Sable Fish as a main, and Raspberry White Chocolate Terrine to finish.
The starter bread was extremely hard, which I attribute to a 9:00 reservation, but even so, that is no excuse for an upscale restaurant. The risotto was delicious but the tempura prawns were a bit underwhelming. The fish was well-cooked, but the squid ink fettuccine was far too rich and butter-soaked. The polenta fries side was also unimpressive in texture and flavor. The dessert thought was delicious; smooth, balanced, and just leaving me wanting mor"

"We enjoyed the meal and we also liked having the wines paired with the courses. We had seen the dining week promo on the news and decided to have a night in the city along with one choice from participants in dining week. We picked Madison's and glad we did.
The NY strip I had was a bit tough, but I fault myself on that as I should know better with that cut.
A enjoyable evening and we look forward to sampling your regular menu.

"I love Madison's. Their field mushroom tartlet haunts my dreams and the pan roasted chicken supreme is, well, supreme! Their desserts are amazing too. I have to plan another visit soon as there are still some items I need to try (not WANT to try, NEED to try.) Go there. You won't regret it!"

"The room itself is lovely, not too noisy, good service...all things one would expect in that price range. But the cocktail list was uninspired, and the food - although nicely presented - ranged from good to mediocre. I can't say anything was 'bad'; it's not that we didn't enjoy the meal. But, again 'in the price range', the meals themselves should have been far more memorable than they were. Even the coffee was so-so. In my opinion, with a little more creativity in the kitchen, Madison's could go from a decent, if over-priced, restaurant - to a great one."

"Our waiter, Brett was outstanding. Only thing holding me back from a 5/5 on the food was that I found the entree portion a bit scant and the dessert (bread pudding) a bit boring and I am a lover of bread pudding. Don't want to be nitpicky but feedback is free and I want to be constructive. Duck was amazing!"

"I love this restaurant for business lunches as well as special dinners. It is quiet enough to have a conversation even when it is full - the tables are well spaced. The food is consistently tasty, the decor elegant and the price point is reasonable for fine dining."

"We were very disappointed. The Rib Eye was flat and skinny, looked and tasted like a fast fry steak from Costco. Mashed potatoes tasted like ones that had been made in advance, frozen and then reheated as needed. Was incredibly overpriced considering the quality of food and lack of ambiance.
Positive, the service was very good. Our sever was attentive to dislikes and made a sauce switch that was very complimenting to the chicken and was very helpful in wine suggestions.
However, for the price and quality and quantity of food, we will not be returning."

"Our waiter Brett was top notch. The food was piping hot. The décor and seating was exceptional. We had flavours that were amazing. The parking is tricky and I think they should give more clues as to were to park on the web site. the best spot is the lot between telus and Alberta College, at ground level. You can only come into it one direction."

"Beautiful setting and ambiance. Tables nicely spaced out. Service was attentive and friendly. Quality of food and wine was excellent, and it was nicely presented. What was especially impressive was how they accommodated wine preferences. We each wanted to have a different glass of wine. One of us prefers fairly sweet Riesling wines. When we couldn't find a riesling on the list of wines by the glass, we asked which wine on the list was most similar. Our waiter invited another waiter who was most knowledgeable about wines over to express an opinion. When he came over he just said that if one of us wanted a riesling, they would gladly open a bottle and provide a glass of riesling. And the one that he chose was excellent."
