"We had the evening special, filet, lamb chops and shrimp. It was delicious. The decor is stunning. All the staff from the valet to waitress to manager were extremely helpful and friendly, we would certainly go back. We had a wonderful time."

"My bf and I went to Hy's to celebrate his birthday. The service was a little patchy at first, bouncing us between a couple of servers and then getting "lost in the shuffle" for 20 minutes or so.
That aside, once we ordered, our appetizers (cheese toast and sauteed garlic shrimp) were good and the drinks we ordered from the bar were delicious.
For dinner, I ordered the Steak Neptune, and the bf ordered the Filet a la Hy's. Mine was cooked perfectly to order (medium), but the bf's was overdone and seemed a little tough for beef tenderloin.
Thankfully they remembered to bring some birthday dessert to the table (I had called ahead to request this).
It was a good meal, but not as good as I was hoping for the price."

"We drove over 2 1/2 hours (one way) for our dinner at Hy's. Service was incredible.....attentive, entertaining, witty and super friendly waiters. The food was out of this world amazing! The BEST steak I have ever had........hands down! I love that they make your salad right at your table. Talk about freshly made! Just a super, super experience. We will be back!"

"This was my first time to Hy's and it was a great experience. The food was delicious and service top notch! I mentioned that we were celebrating a birthday and when dessert arrived, there was an inscription on the plate (Happy Birthday) with a lit candle. This was totally unexpected and very much appreciated. The whole experience definitely exceeded my expectations."

"I had the filet mignon (my old stand by for any steak place) - my husband had the ribeye and was less than impressed. We took our 15 year old meat loving daughter, who also enjoyed her steak. Unsure what hubby didn't like (aside from the prices, he likely thought it should have been best tasting thing ever on his tongue for that price!). Service was fabulous, location and interior were terrific. No complaints, would definitely go again (if I can afford it!)."

"This was our second visit to Hy's in 6 weeks. At our first visit, the good food was ruined by a below par service. The restaurant however, refunded our meal. "The service was outstanding! Our server was very helpful and enthusiastic. Upon making reservations, I had requested a more private area for my husband and I. We ended up getting a very private booth, which was much appreciated. The main course was pretty good - my husband really liked his steak but I expected a little more for the ribs (though that's not what they are known for). The dessert was delicious. "Enjoyed the dinner - although a bit disappointed in my cut (bone-in rib) as it was a bit sinewy. My third or fourth time at Hy's, and with the great room, I still think it is a top steakhouse in Toronto. We were seated at a booth, which didn't have much leg room - seemed like the seat was too long or something - but my wife thought it was cozy so we didn't ask for a switch. The wine list is a bit disappointing. It is well presented and very organized on an tablet - but definitely lacking in selection and value. With a short list, every bottle should be interesting and fair value, so that wasn't awesome. Definitely worth a visit if you're doing the steakhouse rounds - definitely a cut above the Keg, its little brother franchise."

"This is one of my favourite date night restaurants. The food is consistently fabulous. I'm not a big steak-eater, but the Filet A La Hy's just melts in your mouth. The twice-baked potato is a wonderful compliment to the steak. And I cannot say enough good things about the service. The staff here make dining an experience to be savoured. You never feel rushed and you are always well taken care of. They went above and beyond to help me arrange a lovely birthday surprise for my husband. Perfect place for a special occasion night out. They are wonderful people serving wonderful food and I am looking forward to going back."

"This was one of the best I have ever experienced. Cocktail lounge with piano and live singer started the night off great as we sipped on a cocktail. We were then lead upstairs and seated by the fireplace (perfect spot for us). Service was impeccable and server knowledge of the menu was impressive. Apps were very good and enjoyed. Prime rib and rib eye were our mains and they were perfectly cooked and just melted in our mouth's. Our night was very memorable at Hy's and we will return without hesitation."

The food was good, but disappointing for a high-end steak house. Maybe expectations were high, but it did not feel like good value. I would recommend Ruth's Chris' over Hy's in the same price range."

"Steak was very good, but side dishes were below average. The service was poor. We ordered wine which did not arrive until mid-way through the entree and after reminding the waiter. Not good enough for a restaurant at this price. I would have taken a less dim view of this if we would have been offered some recourse for this, but this did not materialize. Other steakhouses in Toronto offer a better overall package."

"Nice spot to go before a hockey game. Nice when the server asks if you are going to the hockey game and what time would you like to leave. Food is always great as well as the service. Never feel rushed or crowded. Never have been disappointed."

I had a chance to dine in your establisment because it my was my husband's choice to celebrate his birthday. If I had a choice I would of chosen somewhere different to go to. I have never been here before and my husband is a great fan of yours.
I do have to say that food, as well as service was very good. Waiter Chad was very attentive and polite. The only thing I was disapointed is that I felt being rushed. Our appetizers arrived within a short period of time and all at the same time giving us no time to enjoy each one of them. The food arrived shortly after we were done with appetizers. Paying high price for meal I wanted to enjoy my experience and I did not. Not sure if I want to come back."
