"Matterhorn was good, but way overpriced for what you get. The ambiance is great, but the rest falls a little short for the steep price tag. The cheese fondue was really tasty, but the meat was a bit off and didn't taste right. There was a lack of options to dip into the fondues, and since I can't eat bread because of the gluten, I had to order sides to dip in the fondues. I've had better fondue for much more reasonable prices, so I won't be back."

"Without a doubt one of San Francisco's hidden gems. There is no better communal dining experience than fondu and Matterhorn is the best you'll find. Add to that a killer bar and wine list and you've got a great dining experience. One of our favorite places to take out of town guests and to host group events."

"We had dinner here to celebrate our 10 year anniversary. We ate here on our honeymoon originally. The food was really good. Very traditional Fondue. I wish there was a little more variety to the menu and wine list, but the food was great. The thinly cut beef that you fondue in the broth was excellent. It cooked up quickly and was very tender. There was also many sauces and extras to dip in addition to the beef. We'll go back in 10 more years!"

"My boyfriend is Swiss, so this was a logical choice for his birthday. I made a reservation, and amended it to add that it was his birthday and that he was Swiss. I figured since the owner's citizenship is on the site for the restaurant they'd love to know a fellow countryman was there. I do wish that the host or the waitress would have extended that extra level of service and wished him a Happy Birthday. I wasn't looking for freebies. We didn't spent that much.
That lack of attention to detail in that area was the only negative. The fondue was great. He was thrilled to see traditional dishes listed first. It was nice to see him happy and going on about a dish he'd grown up with. We enjoyed the meal and were nice and stuffed when we lef"

"We've been going to Matterhorn for years now. My daughter loves spending her birthday there, and we always have a fantastic time. And it's fun eating fondue. She's now 25 and still enjoys spending her birthday with them. The owner is super friendly and accommodating, they recommend the portions required for your group so you don't over-order. It's a LOT of food. The cheeses are all amazing. The chocolate fondue - YUM, but their other desserts are also delicious. Just a great place to be."

"I love this place and have been coming for years! If you love cheese as much as I do, it's incredible! Definitely start with the raclette appetizer. Brigitte, the owner, is awesome, too! She's very personable and hilarious...I love going to the Matterhorn to see her, too!!!"

"Food, and service were great. The location can be troublesome for parking. They do have valet parking for $10 on Friday and Saturday, but I would recommend that you be prepared to drive around for a bit if you do not wish to valet."
