Nothing arouses an appetite more than a sizzling, juicy, tender steak... hot, fresh from the broiler, resting on the plate before you, ready to be carved, ready to be eaten...a Pace's steak. Our meat is different, and you'll taste why. We pay a lot of attention to our steaks long before they even get to our kitchen. First, we select only the best shells directly from the butcher market docks in the heart of New York City. We don't trust anyone else to age them. We do that ourselves, with weeks of rotating under special lights and fans to produce the tastiest, most tender cuts you'll find this side of the Tunnel. Our marinated steaks are bathed with a secret brewed sauce and steeped in it for three days, until the unique flavor permeates every bite. Then we prod and we poke, until we're satisfied that the steak we're serving is a steak you'll remember.
The Pace Family--four generations of serving food to the public. Now serving the best steak we hope you'll ever have.
"While our steaks were cooked well, not much was right outside of that. Side portions are small. They serve all there filets with onion rings? Kind of cheapens the whole experience. We were approached by a vendor selling roses which while is a nice gesture, this isn't Yankee stadium. Very loud manager or owner was having a very loud conversation with a table next to us and we were forced to listen to them because of how loud they were. Add a waiter that was stuffy and kind of rude and that reaffirms that we will not be visiting again. There are several better options for a nice dinner. And to think that several friends said that pace's wasn't very appealing prior to us going. Should've listened!!"

"This was our first time at Pace's, after hearing many good reviews. We were not disappointed. The food was excellent! The staff was friendly and engaging. We are adding Pace's to our list of favorite restaurants."

"There were 4 of us for dinner. The waiters were very nice. We went to Pace's because it was restaurant week and that would be the only way we could afford to eat at the highly rated steakhouse. The waiters most certainly were not interested in us ordering from the Prefix menu. The food was delicious, potions were small for the cost. . Paces is very nice, the food is very good. I would recommend it just don't order from Pre-Fix menu."

"Consistently excellent. Very attentive staff, excellent food, and great decor. The salads were all excellent (we ordered 4 different types). I ordered the confetti salad (chopped vegetables and shrimp), no lettuce which was excellent. The marinated porterhouse for one was superb. Will definitely be returning. The only thing we would like to see on the menu if sides is sautéed onions (to accompany the steaks)"

"The bar was a fun scene, not the usual steakhouse bar. The decor was very warm and cozy not the usual masculine mahogany wood which gives the place a cold feel. The food was delicious. My petit filet was made exactly how I like it. The service was a bit slow, but to my liking. I do not like to be rushed when I am dining. I will definitely return. Oh, cannot forget the waiters who were very friendly and accommodating."

"The food was absloutely great as was the service. The only reason we would hesitate to return is the noise level. The dining rooms are small and there were many large tables with smaller ones sandwiched in. It was hard for us to have a conversation because the tables were so loud. When another large group was seated next to us, we skipped dessert and left. It would be better if the larger tables were set up in the back of the dining room."

"Our party of eight arrived for our 5:30 reservation and although there was a small wait, we were seated relative promptly considering it was Easter Sunday. My brother in law and I ordered the Porterhouse for two and it was cooked exactly as requested. Everyone's meal was fantastic and the service exemplary."

"Paces is always a good restaurant, although compared to Insignia which is less than five minutes away,it is a little dated. The food was good, not great, and they got my husband the wrong steak, so he was eating after us. Overall it is worth the money."

"We ate here with another couple on Saturday night. The decor is typical steakhouse, but dated and not romantic. Very "bridge and tunnel" crowd. Our cocktails were fine, wines by the glass were limited for a steakhouse. Sushi roll was fair, and very expensive. Ceasar salad was good, crab cocktail was good. I reluctantly shared a surf and turf with my friend and was very disappointed as expected. The lobster tail was AWFUL and was definitely previously frozen. We left the entire tail on the plate. The filet mignon was fine but not great. The guys' steaks were good as were the sides. The waiter "forgot" all of the ice cream which should have accompanied our desserts. We will not return or recommend - too many other good places to go."
