"We unfortunately didn't get to dine here. We had a reservation for 7pm and at 7:15pm we were still outside waiting. Granted it was Mother's Day and the staff felt terrible. My son was starving so we ended up eating at Sobaya across the street which is outstanding. Paella looked amazing and the staff looked attentive - we will absolutely go back on a non-holiday night."

"We went for an early dinner and the restaurant had a nice crowd. The service was great and the tapas and paella were reasonably priced and delicious. As promised, they comped the "Mother's Day" portion of the meal. As result, the bill was a pleasant surprise! We tried to leave a generous tip as a result. I will be returning to try more of the menu!"

"I loved this place. Great service and we felt very well taken care of. Don't miss the paella for two, which is the reason you go here, I know, but it was worth it."

"I ordered the early bird special which you can get from 4-6pm on Fridays and Saturdays. It comes with an appetizer, entree, one scoop of ice cream for dessert, and beer or sangria. The meal was great from start to finish. I had the goat cheese salad, the meat empanadas, the mussels in tomato sauce (my favorite), sangria and vanilla ice cream. My fiance had the steak and potatoes as an entree and the tres leches cake. It was a very nice time. We had wonderful service, ambiance, and great food. Thank you! Great for a group as well as a romantic date!"

"The good: the tapas dishes especially the stuffed squash, chorizo, and clams! The white sangria was also really good, not too sweet. It's a convenient location for going out or going home afterwards. The bad: it was sooo loud. We were sitting downstairs and I could barely hear the person sitting next to me. Also, there isn't a good waiting area when you walk in so you end up standing right over people who are trying to eat!"

"Small intimate spot. Good food. Friendly and attentive service. La Paella seats only about 30 diners. Every spot was taken on a Thursday night. I'll be back."

"The restaurant is really small. Very noisy to the point of not hearing others at the table. Food was varied. We had the tapas. But very much the same garlic fried or sauteed flavor. The sangria was good. It was nice for a small group birthday but way too noisy."

"At 4.30pm the restaurant was empty. So no ambiance, apart from some good Spanish music. The food was pretty good but overpriced. The staff were very friendly and helpful when I spilled a whole glass of red wine down my husband's khaki's. :-( Very casual. I would imagine it is a good place for groups."

"The Paella is made with frozen seafood -- and did not taste like a paella. I also ordered cod fish crocet - it was all potatoes and no cod fish in it. The place is cute and cozy, but did not find it clean and of course with the dimness in the place, who would know. Not much choice of coffee and do not cater to diabetics, they had no equal, splendid, just regular sugar and the waiter thought we were asking for something foreign. The couple next to use were just confused. Sorry, will not go back again...I will stick with Don Quijote"

"My girlfriend & I were very impressed with La Paella. We made a reservation for 8 pm. When we got there, the place was busy and loud. We were seared within 5 minutes. What was great were the red & white sangria, this fried shrimp wrapped in bacon & the paella. Very tasty! I intend to go back with my parents. The one negative about the place was that it was very noisy. If your looking for a quiet, intimate evening, don't go on a Saturday night at 8 pm."

"Sometimes you just need an easy simple place for good food and a glass of sangria. It's not fancy and no "wow" factor, but the seafood was fresh and prepared well."

"For paella diners La Paella should satisfy. The paella for two is full of shellfish with yellow rice, albeit the rice is not as savory as one would hope. Overall the paella is good. The restaurant could have better lighting in order to at least read the menu."

"Went there mainly for tapas and we were both very happy, the jamon serrano and Manchego cheese are very good in particular. Gambas al ajillo have a little too much garlic, but that's ok. Sangria too, with not too much ice and a little spicy, excellent. Service was very attentive and nice. Nice area to go out afterwards too."

"Small, rustic-looking restaurant with personalized service. Menu listing of paellas for 2 is a little confusing: they are happy to make paella for one, and even to adapt it. And oh, the paellas are delicious! Wine list is small but good, and is reasonably priced (as is the food)."

"My husband and I dined at La Paella on Valentines Day and really enjoyed the experience. We were shown to our table straight away. The tables were quite close together but this wasn't a problem for us. The food was lovely and we were brought 1-2 dishes at a time which was helpful in ensuring that the table didn't become too cluttered! Overall very helpful staff and a great atmosphere for a romantc meal for two."

"Valentines day, was crowded. Appetizers were fairly good. I ordered Paella. My wife ordered pork chops. Well. I lived in Spain for 4 years. First of all, no one serves empty clam shells as a substitute for real clams in Spain. Empty shells ARE TAKEN OUT before brought to the table. I counted 6 out of 10 clams were simply empty-nothing inside, should I give an A for decoration? Second, rice in my Paella was absolutely tasteless. Needles to say, my wife was a bit dissappointed with pork chops- they were tough and over-cooked at best."

"This was the first time eating at La Paella and it was wonderful. I went with my boyfriend for Valentine's Day. Romantic. Good food. GREAT SANGRIA! Downside, it was a bit noisy but that is to be expected on Valentine's Day. Otherwise we will be going back."

"If passing by on the street I would never have thought to try this little hole in the wall but so glad I did! The seafood paella was AMAZING!!!!! In other restaurants when I order paella I usually end up leaving behind a ton of rice but even that didnt get left behind here! The entree portions were very generous and the service was TOP NOTCH! The sangria (on a buy one get one free special) was one of the best I've had from a restaurant.
Will definitely eat here again and soon!"

"Cosy little hole in the wall that gets packed quickly as a result. Waitstaff were very attentive and their red sangria is so tasty. Food was ok. Mussels were so tiny they weren't worth digging into the shell for. Shrimp dish was extra small for the $9 and the saffron rice at 9.50 is questionable too. Some great sauces in the dishes though so I mainly got full by using the bread to soak them up. The grilled calamari was the best dish.! Based on other reviews we stayed away from the paellas. Nice village vibe though."

"Basque paella was excellent! Can't wait to go back and try the others. Space is tight and decor is tired, but the waiter was attentive and the food came out promptly. The paella tasted quite fresh and the langoustines in it were the yummiest we'd had since a trip to Scotland."

"Tapas make last minute group dinners work. People leave early or come late, but the food is always on the table. Service was very accommodating and always made sure there was food on the plates and drinks in the cups. Happy hour runs late, like a proper Spanish restaurant, and the sangria is fruity and a good compliment to all foods/seasons."

"Service was great and spot was cool, but the portions are really small. $9 for the meatballs (albondigas) and there were 4 small meatballs. $9 for garlic shrimp, 5 small shrimp. Both were tasty, just way too small for that money. Basque paella was good, but same thing, way too small for $39."

"On a Saturday night it was crowded, loud and the service was slow because there were so many other bigger groups than my party. I was excited to try the paella and honestly it tasted a little fishy. Ironically enough, if I come back I will NOT have the paella and just share the tapas."
