"I've been to this place 3 times now and have enjoyed my dining experience every time. The service is good without being overbearing. The food is yummy and varied with an interesting assortment of flavor combinations. Pricing is moderate. I wouldn't recommend it for big groups, but if you have 6 - 8 people, it's great, since the plates are small and folks can share a lot of variety."

"Red Crane is an excellent choice for unique and tasty food. The restaurant is small but very nicely decorated and the service was good. I highly recommend the Chilean sea bass and wasabi Caesar salad. The bacon fried rice was bland and needed some garlic or something to bring out the flavors, but we brought it home and doctored it to make it great."

"We went to the Red Crane with our close friends for the Valentine's Dinner. The table was waiting for us. Our waiter recommended the special of the night. We followed his suggestion. The dish was excellent! Other dishes, for example, the Poke was so fresh. I can go on, on, and on. We ordered many appetizers and did not have a huge main dish. These made us full.
One thing I want to have more is the space. I know they are planning."

""Neighborhood gem" is the perfect description of this small Japanese fusion restaurant in Cupertino. Plan on a long leisurely meal because it takes a while for the food to be prepared. We didn't view this as a negative since it was a weekend and we were in no hurry. We truly enjoyed each course we had including the soy/garlic edamame (unique), the ahi poke (very fresh), the sea bass (pricey but very tasty), and especially the coffee-flavored ribs (don't get turned off by the name, the coffee flavor is subtle and these ribs were tender and delicious). There are many intriguing dishes on the menu and we look forward to trying more of them during our next visit. we will definitely return."

"Our overall dining experience was fair. The food service is extremely slow. The only saving grace was that the food was very good, but that may have been because we were literally starving by the time it arrived. We waited approx. 1 hour to be served on a Saturday evening, which seemed to be the norm for the evening. We overheard many other diners commenting/complaining about the long wait. We are still debating on whether to return."

"We had the Hamachi sashimi which was really good but a small portion with 5 very thin slices, the deep fried karaage spiced calamari which was a good sized portion with a tasty dipping sauce and the char siu marinated chilean sea bass which had good flavor but the sauce was a little thin and watery. Including two bowls of rice the meal came to $50 for the 3 plates but we had a $30 Groupon so it was $45 including tax and a 20% tip. A little pricey for the small plates but overall it was good. We probably should have ordered one or two more dishes for a full meal."

"Don't go if you are hungry . Quality of food was good to very good but portions are small on most dishes we ordered . Food was brought out like a piece meal . Waiting time between dishes ordered was beyond average . At one point waited 10 to 15 min. looking at the fried rice we ordered before our entrees came out ! Cost is above average for what is offered . Owner must think he/she has a view of the bay from the strip mall parking lot . I only saw Home Depot . With so many other good restaurants available to choose from, I can not recommend Red Crane at this time . Good luck Red Crane ! I will try once more to see if anything has changed but if not I don't see much of a future ."

"The roasted garlic edamame is incredible. The way they prepare it could turn anyone into an edamame lover. If you go to the Red Crane, this is a must try! They also have a "twist" on your typical caesar salad by mixing wasabi into the dressing. It's quite good. The char siu marinated chilean sea bass was also pretty good, but they used to make this dish with cod, which we thought was even better. Not so favorite dishes were the roasted garlic chow mein (not a lot of flavor and they put raw, cut up tomatoes in it), and the shaking beef was flavorless as well. Overall decent food but not great."
