Welcome to Pasion, the Nuevo Latino restaurant from owner and executive chef Jose Calvo-Perez. Pasion brings a taste of the Latino Carribean, South and Central America to the Inner Sunset District of San Francisco, combining excitement and energy of Latin American cuisine and décor with a modern, urban flavor. ¡Buen Provecho!
"Every meal we've ever had here has been a 5 star meal. Ceviche was as fresh as ever. The drinks Pismo's were delicious. Don't leave without trying the lamb meatballs and the ceviche. We were wow-ed for sure. Latin cuisine that is fresh and innovative"

"I've tried the ribeye, the pork chop, the whole fish, the paella, the ceviche, various sides, this place has great food. Of course I didn't eat all these things in one seating but over several visits. :) Fortunately for me I live 5 minutes away and currently my default place to go for a nice predictable and great meal. There is dining available at the bar or you can get an easy reservation via Opentable. Service in my many visits has been consistently great and I've not had any problems with the attentive servers and staff. I will be back and bringing other friends each time."

"I came here for birthday brunch with a friend and I really liked the atmosphere of the restaurant; it seemed like everyone was having a good time. It was pretty noisy inside, but that just added to the energy of the place. The food was delicious; had the ceviche trio with plantains to start and I ordered the Pasion Lomito sandwich with sweet potato fries while my friend got a brunch order I'm forgetting, although it did consist of eggs benedict. The sandwich was really flavorful & rich and the ceviche was good. And bottomless mimosas for $12? Not bad at all. I would come back again to try different ceviche & maybe a brunch item."

"Went for brunch this past Sunday. We had a hard time finding parking because a street fair blocked off the entrance to some public parking nearby, but we called them and they were chill and saved our reserved table for us. We ordered the guacamole to start and it was served with perfect plantain, taro, and yucca chips. I ordered the hue is al horno and every bite was flavorful with just the right amount of spice and richness. The boyfriend had the tri-tip sandwich, of which I had a bite. The beef was tender and had an excellent rub. They kept my bottomless mimosas flowing: I never had to ask for a refill! All in all, it was a delicious brunch and we will be back."

"This was my fourth time at Pasion and each time I am so pleased with the ambiance, the tasty food, and the attentive waitpersons. The bisque with shrimp was exceptional and the ceviche delicious. A true delight!"

"Creative, great ingredients, reliably satisfying. Prices are reasonable for the quality. Tends toward the adventurous. Recommend the pescado a la macho (whole fried fish that you flake off with a fork, surrounded by shellfish). One of the better values in SF."

"I love all of the cheap eats and modest restaurants in the Inner Sunset, but once in a while it's nice to splurge and have a foodie experience. Pasion fits the bill. They have an interesting mix of appetizers (try the ceviche and yucca fries!) and entrees. Their entree proportions are generous."

"Wow, I live in San Francisco and eat out a lot. This place is excellent in terms of fresh, top notch quality food. We were seated immediately, the place was packed and now we know why. The Lamb meatballs were a stand out dish. The squid ink rice was also a stand out dish. We had the paella, wow, fresh clams, mussels. Everything here was total class from the service to the food. Don't miss this place, and prices are reasonable!"

"an effort that needs refinements across the board, the food is a mixed bag, some were good like the tuna ceviche and various fries, the rest had the right ingredients but not the proper mix and balance of flavors. The service and ambiance show potential but not enough care, the overall energy of the place was not passion but meh! I have a hard time deciding whether I would try this again or recommend it, the Tuesday half off wine bottles is an tempting enticement!"

"Just too loud. Despite very good food the noise made our overall experience unpleasant. It's not tolerable to scream into the ear of your table mate for an entire meal."

"The food is excellent, the wait staff very attentive, the wine great. The only issue I have is the noise level is just awful. Mostly it has to do with the acoustics. There is no muffling ability in the place - and if you get a group of women - or even one women with a high pitched loud laugh - it is actually very loud to the point that you think she (or they) are sitting right next to your ear."

"I took my girlfriend to Pasion for Valentine's Day. The menu was a 3 course pre fixe menu with 3 different options for all 3 courses. The food was very good and very plentiful. For the price ($85/per person including wine pairing for all 3 courses), I was very happy! Our reservations were at 8:15pm. The overall noise level was a little louder than I generally prefer, but given the holiday and the peak seating time, it was to be expected. The head chef was quite visible and friendly, and he handed out complimentary lime jello shots as a "palate cleanser" (I was told they contained vodka and pisco). Overall, the experience was very good, and I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting a solid Peruvian-inspired meal!"

"Great food, service, and setting in this restaurant. I had the "lomito saltado," which was sauteed sirloin steak strips, while my wife had the "pescado a lo macho" which was a crispy fried whole dorade. The food was great and we shared some ceviche as well. We had the "ceviche pasion" and "ceviche atun" with plantain chips. We also ordered a pitcher of Sangria. We will definitely come back."

"Last night I had the worst valentines dinner of my life. Luckily my girlfriend and I are are easy going people, because a few different times we almost started yelling at the staff there.
First of all, they called me twice in two days to confirm our time. That's fine, but they really emphasized a TWO HOUR LIMIT, to "ensure the best possible dining experience." Well, that turned out to be a lie.
We got seated immediately, at the worst table in the restaurant. Fine. Not a deal breaker for me. From the very first second we were VERY rudely rushed.
We were given the prix fix menu, which we didn't realize would be the only option. This turned what I thought would be a $80 meal into a $150 one. They offered an addition of oysters, whic"

"I continue going to Pasion because the food is wonderful and everyone is incredibly friendly, top that off with never having to flag down a waiter to refill your water and I'm sold. I especially enjoyed the wine pairing with your Valentine's Day fixed menu, as well as the intro chef's specialty that was included and was absolutely amazing."

"The food wasn't bad, but the service was just okay. There was a long wait time, and the parking in the area is pretty horrible (not the restaurant's fault, but still noteworthy). I've had better bunch places in the city, but I would come here again if someone invited me."

"Very interesting menu with many choices. We had empanadas, ceviche and the salmon tacos. Everything was very tasty. The servings are small, but just right. Enjoyed our lunch. Not must to say about the ambiance - a little noisy, no table cloths and paper napkins. However, would go back again if in the area."

"On returning to Pasion, I have to say I was disappointed. Our ceviches were delicious but the entrees have slipped. We all complained of cold accompaniments. The potatoes were undercooked, the side veggies were cold. We didn't want to complain because we were celebrating a birthday...might not return."

"A lovely place to treat my father to an upscale dining experience in honor of his birthday! The waitstaff was too sparsely scheduled on a Tuesday evening for a full dining room of clientele, but the waitstaff manager and the bus staff picked slack without missing a beat. Everyone was all smiles, attentive, responsive, intelligent even while clearly running their butts off in attempts to keep all us hungry patrons sated. The food was top-notch: creative, flavorful, well-made, and just generally delightful. I will be back, so much of both the food and the drink menus left for me to conquer!"
