Stella Blues Cafe is a family owned and operated restaurant that has become a land mark in South Maui. We offer home-style cooking with friendly service.
"Overall, the meal was ok although it was obvious the restaurant skimped on the appetizer, salad and desert portions. My preference would be to have a better quality meal and pay a few more $. Better value was received at the Willie K dinner show 2 evenings prior at Mulligans.
Of particular interest was the restaurant had no record of our reservation which had been made through Open Table. Luckily there were tables available that evening."

"Thought this was going to be a really cool restrauant with memorabilia of the Dead everywhere. It was no We certainly thought we would hear Grateful Dead music and find awesome tye-dye tee shirts with the Stella Blue logo. There were a modest amount of framed posters (nothing to write home about) and no really old posters from back in the day which could be ordered on the Dead web site. Sadly, we didn't hear one Grateful Dead song being played. This is not what your web site declares! This could have been any restrauant anywhere...nothing special at all! When we asked the owner (Cindy, I believe) why no Dead music...she said, "We get tired of it!!! Server had a tye-dye shirt, but none for sale. Patty melt had no onions,my burg was good."

"Our waiter was not interested in helping us navigate the menu. Brought out the wrong wine and left the wrong glass on the bill. Food was below average except the chicken wings. Very loud and no ambiance"

"Quality is slipping. We live nearby and know that the kitchen is usually slow, but this time it took an hour to get our entrees, and one (meatloaf) was cold with coagulated gravy on top. The usually perfect, moist grilled chicken was overcooked and so dried out it was tough as leather. Although the service was great, and the server apologized profusely while replacing the cold meatloaf dish, we will not be going back for the food."

"My husband and I each had one of their pizzas. It was ok, not the best. Our server was wonderful and the atmosphere was dimly lit, nice for a date night. We would come back, but we would try something other than pizza."

"Great place for lunch. Exceptionally fresh local fish and produce. Had great service. Nothing special or romantic, but worth visiting. Great casual dining place."
