"We had an enjoyable meal. The waiter was knowledgeable and helpful - we took all of his suggestions and were glad we did. Everything we ordered was good including the Lay, Lady, Lillet cocktail, which reminded us a white sangria, but with more of a kick and the Spring Pea Pasta, which had pleasing but mild tarragon flavor. The wine list had some decent wines and the by the glass offerings were satisfactory for those who want only a glass or may want different wines throughout dinner. We'll definitely go back."

"One of my daughter's favorite places to eat, I had never been. I definitely will go again! The deviled eggs were like no others I have ever eaten, and I loved my Apple Chicken Sammy w/smoked Gouda cheese. The pretzel bun was outstanding. The beer list was extensive, and we appreciated the pairings that were on the menu. The food was definitely plentiful, and our order was on the table in a very short amount of time. A very good choice for my daughter's birthday!"

"This was my third visit to Westside Local and it was just as good as the first two times. The service is pleasant and efficient. I had the mac and cheese with bacon and shallots. Very yummy. I wish I had to thought to ask about portion size because it was very generous. Because my friend and I were headed out for the evening, we couldn't take home our leftovers and it made me very sad to waste. Plus I was too full for dessert. Most definitely will go here again and highly recommend to anyone."

"This was my second visit to Westside Local but definitely not my last. The food is very good: fresh ingredients and unusual combinations. The service is attentive and friendly. Even though we were stuffed from dinner, we couldn't resist bread pudding for dessert. They bake it when you order so it arrives at the table hot from the oven! I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone."

"Husband and I enjoyed the ambience - next time we will request the beer garden. Food is very fresh - a warning to picky eaters - the menu is not extensive (which makes it all the better for us - the chef can concentrate on a few great dishes). The choices are varied - and sandwiches are available anytime. Nice selection of cocktails and wines - all reasonably priced. Service attentive and pleasant. We have put this place on our "must return" list."

"The food was pretty good, but definitely over-priced for what you get. I do appreciate that all of the food was from local farmers. For my husband and I to each get a sandwich (chicken for me, burger for him) with a side (fries) and a drink (diet coke for me, a beer for him), our total was $50. For the quality of food and service, I thought a more appropriate price would have been about $30."

"The Westside Local is a splendid place for early dinner before attending an event at the Kauffman Center. Zip straight east on 17th Street after dinner, and you're at the entrance to the parking lot. Even better, for friends meeting at the restaurant, leave a car in the free parking lot across the street, and you'll only need to take one car to Kauffman Center.
And, as for the dining experience, the menu has all sorts of selections, from salads and sandwiches, to eclectic creations with seafood, or vegetarian. Selections change with the seasons for optimum freshness. Good wine list, and wonderful service."

With such a small selection on your menu, I was disappointed because the selections were so extremely limited when you are out of several options."

"Our party really enjoyed this quaint neighborhood venue! The service was great and the food was different and very tasty. The only thing I would have changed was the level of noise--there was a man playing live guitar and it was so loud that I had to strain to hear the person across from me. "My second visit to Westside Local for lunch was every bit as good as the first for dinner. A teriyaki burger was the special of the day and it was definitely special. We ordered it medium and it was perfect.The parmesan fries were crispy and delicious with great housemade ketchup. Hot tea (many choices brought to the table) and bread pudding topped off the meal. For only $2 the kitchen split the burger and fries so we each got extra fries and our own tasty pickle on separate plates, of course. Our server and host were very attentive to our needs.
The only complaint was the cold air that came in every time the front door opened. Don't sit near the door!"
