Mexico.... home of Talavera, the unique fine art pottery from the 16th Century, native of the city of Puebla.
This genuine and refined Mexican spirit of the Talavera art sets the ground for the spirit of our menu. From the "Huarache" grill, a series of delicate dishes served on a corn tortilla base, to a variety of regional specialties from Sonora to Oaxaca, from Michoacan to Puebla, from Jalisco to Yucatan.
Talavera, the art of a genuine and refined taste of Mexico.
"The waiter took time to explain some of the items on the menu and also made recommendations. Service was attentive and timely, and the food was excellent. I will return."

"This past visit, I treated two friends to dinner and we had a great time. My friends had never been there before and they loved it. I will definitely return and continue to bring new customers, because I have never been disappointed. Their food is so heavenly, it's indescribable, though that doesn't stop you from trying to articulate the complexities to the moles and various other dishes. I look forward to the next time that I get to go."

"Don't plan to talk...very loud, but music group was good so it depends on why you are there. Service was very good, food was just OK and not much of it."

"The food was good, we had the fish ceviche very fresh. My friends had a dish with mole that was quite good. I had the filet, it was interesting but next time I will stick to the more traditional dishes. Nice place for a celebration. They also have a restaurant in the grove Jaguar that is quite good."

"Wait staff was in need of training...you have to know the menu if you're selling it! Service was painfully slow...waitress was preoccupied with large tables outside, so my table was neglected. Food overall was really good but the service put a huge damper on the night. Suggestion to Management: hire competent wait staff, it will help you immensely. Conclusion, if you are craving Mexican food...head to Chipotle and save the $$$."

"Best gourmet food and margaritas among the few choices for Mexican cuisine in Miami. The restaurant gets crowded and noisy at times when the street fairs are held right outside the front door. Some tables are undesirable because of traffic patterns and noise from the bar."

"A restaurant we have patronized since it opened. Food is always good to very good and reliable. Owner rarely comes by any more, and we felt it ran smoother and was better when he did. Menu has changed little over the years; specials are usually good when they have them. We return regularly though with less frequency than before when we have a taste for this more authentic Mexican restaurant."

"Very good upscale Mexician cuisine. The moles in particular are very good. Talavera's reservations system leaves something to be desired-- the reservation through open table wasn't really a reservation: their policy is you are just the 1st person in line to be seated after you arrive in what seems to be a non-reservation system. This could be a problem on a busy night."

"We had been there before and loved it. But this time only so so. A bit pricey and overall quality of food lacked flavor? They cook to authentic Mexican recipes and service was terrific but maybe just a bad night in kitchen. For the price, my daughters would have prefered somewhere else. Underwhelming experience."

"this is far from a first dining experience at this particular spot, and I must say I keep coming back for more as it is a delightful place. the service is tops and the food, well, so far I have never had any problem digesting their sauces or other flavorful concoctions. it is a pleasure whenever I am in town to visit this restaurant and enjoy having a meal there."

"A really great food experience that is not the typical Mexican fare. I especially liked that the dishes were varied and there wasn't the usual rice and beans added. All the flavors were intense and satisfying. I'm only sad that I live on the West Coast and they are in Miami!"

"Food is always good although the use of rice to offset small portions has become more noticeable. Recommend restaurant except if you have a group of six of more. Restaurant and tables are small and they try to stuff you in small tables not suitable for six. Pricing is on the more expensive side given that this is basic Mexican food and portion sizes small. Margaritas are the exception and worth price!"

"Food very good as always but service only fair in that server kept asking, "What?" when we said something. Noise level very high thanks to overamplified guitarist, which made conversation difficult"

"Delicious as always! One of our favorite Coral Gables' restaurants. Actually wanted to make an earlier reservation, and Open Table would not let me. The place was deserted when we arrived. Should have been able to make earlier reservation."
