Jannah

1775 Fulton Street
San Francisco, CA 94117

Legendary San Francisco Chef Yahya Salih is back with a new twist on some very old favorites. Combining traditional Mesopotamian dishes with California/Mediterranean influences Salih has put a new spin on some well established Middle Eastern dishes. Formerly Yaya cuisine, Jannah provides a modern and fresh atmosphere in which to enjoy the many creations of Salih. Combining his experience with California cooking pioneer Jeremiah Tower, with the traditional dishes of his native Iraq, Salih has carved a niche for himself as one of the premiere chefs in the San Francisco Bay Area. Salih has created the only restaurant in the city that replicates Mesopotamian cuisine.

"The staff is super friendly and accomodating. We loved all the appetizers; Baba, Mama and Zuzu Ganoush. My entree was the veg dolmas and they were ok, my boyfriend had lamb kebabs and loved them. We will definitely return."

"Great value for quality and size of portions, and pleasant atmosphere. Fatoosh salad is wonderful, easily shared by two persons. Perfectly cooked skewered marinated salmon and the lamb shank were delicious. These three dishes alone were a an oh so satisfying dinner for two people with large appetites."

"Our group of six tried Jannah for Saturday dinner on a lark. The spreads were fantastic (especially the mama ganoush). The main plates were all tasty, though the veggie phyllo concoction was less interesting than its meaty counterparts.
Only two other parties came in while we ate, so I hope the lunch scene is vibrant enough to keep Jannah open. I definitely plan to return."
