"My wife and I celebrated our 31st anniversary at this restaurant a few days ago.The food quality was outstanding as was the service.Our waitress kara was knowledgeable and attentive.Though a bit pricey,the overall experience was very nice and I'd recommend it for special occasions.There were 4 small loud children at the next table which was the only negative though I really can't blame the restaurant for this.Maybe putting families with small kids away from the center of the dining area would be a good idea."

"Arriving on time and seated immediately on a busy Sat night,we asked the waiter to wait on menus until after we finished our cocktails. He graciously allowed as much time as we needed before returning to describe the specials. We shared the scrumptious lobster roll as an appetizer,each bite savory and delicious. I had the New York Strip, rare, with a glass of Bordeaux. Perfection. My date wasnt as happy with his somewhat chewy skirt steak and will order a strip or filet next time. As sides, hash browns had just the right amount of salty crispness,and sauteed spinach was fine. I already booked a special occasion dinner that includes a vegetarian, who has many varied options. Fabulous food, informed staff, pretty room. Cant wait to return."

"What a great restaurant. Everything was excellent from Raza and Joswey's (spelling?) service to the food, the ambience, and pretty much everything. The sushi special I had was awesome, and the sake Raza recommended was the smoothest I've ever had. It's a bit pricey, but by New York standards, hey, it's worth it. Just go and enjoy."

"Food was delicious and fresh. Service impeccable. Very expensive though, so I would def recommend as a "special occasion" place. The lobsters were fresh and cooked perfectly. The crab cakes were all crab- barely any filler. The sides were delish- prob the best creamed spinach I've ever had! Will definitely be back!!!"

"A better than average steak house in a county that is known for good steak houses. Our steak did not come out as "rare" as we like it, so we sent it back. No problem! Had a great porterhouse! We eat at Rare 650 and its partner restaurants a lot. We are card carrying members, so we were able to get a Porterhouse for two and a two lb lobster from our points. This was a real score! Lobster was not dry...they shelled it for us."

"If you want to charge people alot of money, then you outta deliver on quality and service. If I'm going to spend $175 dollars for two, then I expect to have a fine dining experience. This place is not about the food or experience. It was all about the bar scene. While the food was adequate, the waiter was an inexperienced young kid and the noise level was ridiculous. Sorry, but when a restaurant wants to charge for a fine dining experience, you need to train your staff. And the noise level in the restaurant was so loud you could barely hear yourself think. The bill was $175 before tip. I gotta tip for ya....stay away from this place unless you are in the midst of a mid-life crisis."

"The food was amazing but the service was slow. It is not inexpensive and for the price we felt that the service could've been better. Our server was very nice and knowledgeable but we did wait longer than we should have. Granted it was Mothers Day so maybe that was the reason. We will definately try it again on a non holiday."

"Called twice to change original 6:30 Saturday reservation from 8 to 9 people. They assured me of accommodating, but hadn't re-set table leaving 9 of us standing around very crowded dining room while they scared up another chair and place setting. Round table shoved into corner made it awkward for waiters to distribute menus, wine list, and food. Basic steakhouse food was good, meats cooked exactly to order. Dinner for 9, including 4 bottles of wine came to $1000. Pretty steep for mediocrity."

"Food was excellent!! My husband and I shared the skirt steak and salad and they portioned it for us when being served which was very nice idea so we had our own plates to start with. The portions were very generous. My only complaint would be the sitting arrangements. We were a group of 4. They first wanted to put us at a table right next to the bar and we said no. Then they moved us upstairs which was too secluded and a huge party of 20 was at the table behind us. Next time, make a special request where u like to be seated."

"This was our first time at Rare. It was our anniversary and I wanted to take my wife someplace special. The experience was great! From the time we arrived, our table was ready when we walked in the door. I had requested a table away from the bar and that is what they did. It was much quieter than the bar area, which is pretty loud....especially when the music starts. The waiter service we incredible...so accommodating. Our waiter was very professional and explained the menu and the specials excellently. After dinner, without saying anything, they brought my wife and I an ice cream with candles for our anniversary....a very nice touch. All in all, this was a very nice experience and would recommend Rare to others."

"I enjoyed everything about Rare650! Will definitely be going again. Place was sleek, sexy & gorgeous but still intimate and cozy– management ran like a well oiled machine. Staff was attentive without being pests.The food!OMG- Scallops perfectly prepared, steak was tender & juicy, sweet potato puree was an unexpected treat. My friend had asked for his medium well, it came back a bit too rare, he considered eating it like that but waitress reassured him it would be a quick fix- it was- portions were huge (I had Filet Mignon for breakfast! lol )Coffee was freshly prepared( hate it when the meal is ruined by bitter coffee) the profiteroles were sinful - enough for two. A bit pricey, but food and experience worth it"

"Rare650 is an upscale place for a special occassion. The focus is steak, sushi, and fresh seafood. My wife and I enjoyed all 3 categories. The winelist is long and there are many options by the glass including some rare, if not pricey, vintages. The list is given to you on an iPad. We sat in the enclosed outdoor area which was charming but a little loud. It was not a struggle to talk but you did have to combat the noise. It is a romantic option for a special meal for sure, but expect pricey entrees and over-priced appetizers and side dishes costing double what you would expect. Much is a la carte. We would return for a special occasion."

"We've eaten at Rare 650 many times over the years. We went on a Saturday night to celebrate a birthday. Our requested booth was next to the bar and we had to shout to be heard. Be sure to ask for a table away from the bar when you make your reservation. The menu has been expanded beyond the regular steakhouse and definitely caters to a younger crowd with a large selection of very good sushi. Appetizers came within the expected time. Then we waited a frustrating 45 minutes for our entrees to arrive. All the food was very good and portions are large. Those who had steak commented on its excellence. Dinner with drinks, appetizers, entrees and sides (no coffee/dessert) ran about $100 per person."

"Yet another great meal at Rare650. Shared the tuna tartare sushi roll to start, amazing as always. Nice salads (Caesar and house) as a second course. Seared scallops w/risotto entree was fantastic, special stuffed shrimp appetizer (as an entree) was great as well. Cinnamon sugar doughnut dessert was delicious. They didn't have the bottle of wine we picked from the list (glitch in updating the information) so we were offered an even better bottle at the (lower) price of our original choice. Service was attentive and knowledgeable, maybe a little more gregarious than I prefer but still professional. All in all, you can't go wrong w/Rare or Blackstone's, Scotto has nailed the steak house/seafood formula."

"We had a 6:30 reservation and it wasn't too busy when we got there. We were greeted and seated right away. Service started out great but as the room filled up the service dwindled. The food however was phenomenal from the salad straight through to the dessert. Overall it was a good experience."

"Dinner, as always, was perfectly prepared and delicious. Very good service. We sat in one of the outside enclosed porches, which was nice because it was actually a little quieter there then inside the restaurant. One of my local favorites for steak and lambchops."

"Waiters reading off every detail of specials, choreographed and simultaneous delivery of dishes, vigilant and constant cleaning of the tablecloth, and no one misses saying, "thank you" on your way out. Sushi was fresh but much more limited selection than a sushi restaurant. Steaks were overdone, fibrous and disappointing. Side dishes and salads were strong, but desserts were stale and uncreative. $400 for a meal for four people is typical, and there are both far stronger sushi restaurants and steak houses within this radius. Head elsewhere for better quality dining, unless you're going for the scene."

"We had a family dinner last Saturday and were genuinely impressed with top notch food, attentive and courteous service and the classy ambience. The crab cake and evening’s special roll appetizers were rich and flavorful. The porterhouse steak that I shared with my son was top notch. The food was so good and I ended up taking home the left over steak. Overall, my family had a great meal and wonderful time."

"Ambiance,decor,food and service were all outstanding. We all thought it was over priced though. One doesn't goto a high end steak house/sushi bar and expect to get away without spending $200+ a couple, but $300 we thought was over the line. We will try another high end equivalent before running back to Rare 650."
