Buca di Beppo serves authentic Italian cuisine in an eclectic, vintage setting. Our dishes are served family-style, meant to be shared by everyone at the table. Two sizes are available: BUCA SMALL feeds up to two and BUCA LARGE feeds up to four. At Buca, guests delight in our lively atmosphere, enjoy the classic tunes of Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin and admire our décor, including family photos and candid shots of Italian-American icons, such as Sophia Loren and Joe DiMaggio. "We decided to go out with a friend to Buca based on the fact they had a gluten free menu. We got there, and even with our reservation, we were made to sit for 10 minutes, even though the restaurant seemed largely empty. The place is full of kitschy memorabilia all over the walls, floors, ceilings and every space. Fake flowers and make-up tubes from the 50s and random bras and the Pope's head sticking out of a table. We didn't know what to expect but it was very overwhelming, cheesy, and frankly with all the twists and turns and weird stuff glued to the wall I felt I was stuck in a serial killer's basement. The service was slow, ineffective, and got my gluten-free order wrong. The food was mediocre and over-priced. Would not go back."

"While it is an experience, the cost for a family of 5 to grab dinner here was noticeably higher than other comparable restaurants. You will leave here full and satisfied by the overall taste of the food, but the check (now a week later) still resonates as a bit over expectation for what it was."

"Had gift card so tried it out. Had party of 6. Waiter was great. Very apologetic about wait for food, was really busy on a Sunday. Food was decent. Not sure that I would pay those kinds of prices without a gift card. A large spaghetti and meatballs was $29. Overall would eat there again."

"My reward for making a reservation online was a really poor table - right next to the bar and the server's workstation. We have been to Buca's many times and have noticed a continual decrease in the level of service. Now I know why. We spent the evening listening to chatter between servers at the workstation. We were appalled at the comments they made about the tables and customers they were serving. If you ever worried that the wait staff talks about you behind your back, worry no more - they do, and they do it openly and without respect. Their comments were biting, distasteful, and unprofessional. It was if we were invisible, which only adds to the overall disrespect these people have for those paying their wages. We won't be back."

"It was our first time. We had a group of 8, and I think our server didn't care about us since she knew she would get a standard 18% tip for a large party. On the bright side the food, atmosphere and company were great. Will try it again."

"...service just so so. Maybe our waiter was new; he was difficult to understand, especially given the noise level. It took quite a while to get a bottle of wine (although a small tasting so we could decide which to order was brought fairly quickly). Our order was correctly repeated back to us; however, pizza never showed up; was blamed on the kitchen. It took about 25 minutes to get it after we asked.
Time for kudos: I screwed up our reservation, made it for the wrong night. When the hostess couldn't find our reservation, we pulled up the email confirmation and realized that I made it for Friday, not Saturday. They checked with manager who gave us a table with instructions to be done by a certain time. Whew-saved the evening!!"

"I would recommend Buca di Beppo - Gaithersburg in a heart beat. Once my husband and I walked in, we received a warm welcome, were walked to our table without having to wait and once we reached our table, we were told who our waiter will be.
The food that we ordered was delicious. I ordered the Chicken Cannelloni, which was the perfect temperature and every bite was a delight. My husband ordered the Penne Arrabbiata, which again was the perfect temperature and tasty. We ordered the small portions and we still had to take the leftovers home, but we did not mind at all.
For dessert we ordered the cheesecake, which was creamy, but not too rich, so each bite did not feel heavy.
Overall, we had a wonderful experience and you will too."

"My friends and I go to Buca di Beppo on a regular basis because we love the food. This past time was not so great. There was a large group sitting in the same room as us who was extremely loud and out of control. Other customers were clearly unhappy about the noise level and it was difficult to even have a conversation at your table. The manager came by our table to ask how our meal was going. We said the food was great but that it was extremely loud, to the point of not being able to hear each other. The manager's response was that it was quiet earlier in the evening and that we should have come then. We were incredibly disappointed with her response."

"Second trip, first to this one in Maryland, I had visited the restaurant in Las Vegas. Uniformly outstanding food..worth the visit. My son and his fiance joined me, and it was a perfect family place. Service was very good, energetic, will say the entrees took a bit longer than I would have expected. Overall, very memorable and will return as soon as I can."

"Party of 6. Two members asked to change the sauce from spicey to non-spicey for two of the entrees.
All other entrees were ordered as stated on the menu.Waitstaff said no problem. Order arrived at table and only one entree of the two came as order with the non-spicey sauce. It took the kitchen two times to correct the order. By then everyone else's food got cold waiting for the corrected order to arrive properly. The waitstaff did not ask about
the other orders so we all eat a cold pasta entree. Those who got the correct entree agreed the food was tasty but all wished we could have eaten a hot meal together. It was pretty bad when some started to eat in front of the person who did not receive their order. Waitstaff did apologized."

"I made reservations on line at the last moment for a holiday Sunday. Was very surprised that there was something available. When we got there, they were ready for us. Staff (from welcoming to waiter on) was so nice and friendly and I know they were hazzled because of all the extra people that day. My husband was hesitant because he really doesn't like to share a dish he picks out. He was stuffed and we still have enough to bring home. A VERY pleasant experience."

"Seemed every other table had a birthday celebration on the saturday night we dined there. The staff came out (Bennigans style) and sang happy birthday every 5 mintues for every other table. This is going to be a very noisy restaurant. Typical olive garden type food. The salmon was not bad, and the stuffed mushrooms were good as well. The restaurant is definitely very stuffy (unless you sit in the bar area, which surprisingly was quieter than the main dining area)."

It took 1/2 hour to get a glass of wine and a vodka/tonic. Our waiter said the bartender wasn't there that and a server had to go look up the recipe ?!?!?!
Cocktail FINALLY showed up without a lime, and upon tasting, they used water not tonic. Sent it back for a rum and coke
(asked for the lime this time), and the waiter said not to worry-he wouldn't charge us for the first V&T. No kidding.
Then we had to ask for the side dish that hadn't appeared. No water.
Music BLARES overhead even though we were in a nearly empty room ( which we asked for with two elderly moms in tow). Manager warned about the loud music, saying she wasn't able to turn it dow"

"Buca di Beppo is one of our favorite "go-to" restaurants when we have guests visiting from out of town. Love the chopped salad! "Great location and parking for good for a number of businesses in Gaithersburg, including our agency. Good setting for relaxed business lunches. Good variety of food that can be modified for vegetarians and special diets. Food is good, portions are appropriate for lunch time. Service is very timely and Bucca staff appear to understand that "business lunches" need to be done within a schedule time slot....efficient but not rushed. Setting is good for large staff lunches (8-15 people) allowing people to interact and do a little mid-day team building. Dessert offereings are great, especially for taking back to the office to enjoy for a later in the day meeting."
