"My husband and I decided to celebrate our birthdays at Burton & Doyle. We were greeted by a lovely hostess and seated almost immediately. We were pleased until we realized our service was not as good as those around us. We were never told about the days ago specials, yet we heard the waiter clearly mention this to a nearby table, and just when the servers began to do well they would simply rush off. We are not complainers however this is truly the first time we had ever encountered any thing like this. We are a young, well groomed Hispanic couple, well mannered, yet we seemed to have been treated very differently compared to what we observed at nearby tables. Truly a disappointment."

"Went for Mother's Day and experience was quite good; However waiter brought wrong bottle of wine (good thing I noticed it, otherwise they'd be out the money!); had to keep asking waiter to refill wine glasses. Food was excellent. Atmosphere more upbeat that Morton's down the road; However, service not up to same level as Morton's

"Burton and Doyle used to be one of my favorite places because it provided steakhouse quality food and service in a lively unsteakhouse feel. But the past two times I've been the food has proved disappointing as the costs have increased. I'm afraid that food quality no longer matches the high sticker price. Another turnoff was that only one round of bread came by and the bread plates were removed the minute the appetizers came."

"Lived up to reviews from people who have dined here. Service was top-notch. Attentive yet not intrusive. Appetizers were exceptional: lobster roll from Sushi menu and crab cake. Main courses, swordfish special and prime rib, were cooked to order and more than ample in size; we had enough for a second meal the next day. A place for a special occasion or when you need that distinctive dining experience. Looking forward to returning for lunch."

"Burton & Doyle is a OK steakhouse, but not great. The appetizer of Clams Oreganata was fair. My rib steak was overdone even though I asked for it medium rare. When I showed it to the waiter, he just brushed it off saying it'll be rarer in the center. It wasn't. The Caesar salad was ordinary, not the kind of salad I expect at a steakhouse that charges $52 for a rib steak. At North Shore Steakhouse (now defunct), they mixed the salad at the table with a freshly made anchovy paste, egg yolk, and freshly grated Parmesan. This was like a salad I'd get at a diner. The Cinnamon Bun dessert was swimming in a cloying sweet sauce."

"The filet mignon steak was ordered medium well but it came charcoal black and completely dry. It was way beyond well done. The worse is the manager who came over and yelled "medium was like that" without even looking at how blackened the steak was. When we pointed that out to him, he then tried to avoid the problem by saying "should have let him know early". I tried to wave at least two different waiters / bustboys, they nodded their head but somehow too busy to come over to check the customers and finally got the manager who is the worse finale for the dinner. Bad food could be a fluke, bad customer service is simply unforgivable!"

"After an extremely long hiatus on my part, I took the family to B&D for the first time. Everyone raved! From appetizer to dessert, the preparation, presentation, and taste of the food excelled and rivaled some of the best Long Island steakhouses. The corking policy was particularly refreshing and advantaged by us. Lastly, the décor, although dark and dimly lit offered a regal feel. Steakhouse row on Northern Boulevard offers carnivores many choices, but B&D should be deemed a must visit by all."

"My wife and I have been to Burton & Doyles a few times the last few years. I have to say the experience has gotten worse every time. We got there early and were able to get a seat at the bar and had good service from the bartender. The hostess and valet were also very friendly. We were very disappointed in the table service and not happy with the quality of the food. First, the captain of the station barely came over to us, never checked in on the quality of our food, and did not even tell us of any specials. with 2 young children at home, we do not have a chance to get out as ofetrn and we were looking forward to a nice dinner. Unfortunately, I wish I went somewhere else that night"

"We booked at B&D for Valentines Day and we were not disappointed. We were sat where I had requested, in the Hampton Room; a quiet room off the main room which was loud. The service was impeccable, the wine; marked-up pricey but fantastic. I think my plentiful 18oz. steak might have suffered the holiday-rush and was slightly overcooked but the sides were plentiful and delicious, a la carte. My flowers, ordered at time of online res, were brought to the table during dinner, making it super special. Overall, we had a very nice night. Final tally: $$$$, be prepared!"

"was very disappointed with dinner. normally go to Peter Lugers but decided to give Burton and Doyle a shot. ordered ribeye steak med rare. steak came out rare so waiter cooked some in plate but instead of on side he did it on bottom of plate that was full of butter. also not all of the steak was sliced (never saw that before when ordering steak for 2) so when we sliced up balance of steak it was even rarer. i should have complained when i was there but i felt we were already in middle of meal. i have to say i never had this problem at Lugers or the Palm, always order my steak med rare.

My husband and I actually dined there the day before Valentine's Day, As this has been our tradition over the years.The lunch menu is extensive and very well-priced for And elegant place such as this favorite steakhouse.The regular menu was available as well. We chose to order from the regular menu. The B&D salad was delicious, big enough to share, With string beans and bacon bits and a wonderful marinade.My husband had the fillet mignon which was prepared to perfection. I chose the grilled shrimp oreganata, fabulous!This restaurant is our go to place whenever we feel like having a special dinner. It never disappoints!!"

"I've been here a few times and the food has always been excellent. The service has not! They are very attentive when you arrive, but as the meal goes on, they forget about you! It took 20 minutes to get the check on a dead Friday night. There are plenty of other quality steak houses in the area. Try one of them!"
