Vancouver's Original Modern Italian Dining. The restaurant’s interior is warm, stylish, and comfortable with plenty of space for cocktails. The room features natural cork flooring, a not so subtle nod to Q4’s reputation for wine excellence, plus this eco-friendly choice absorbs sound naturally; no more shouting to be heard over restaurant chatter and clatter. Perhaps the most prominent feature in the room is a massive 10’ by 20’ original abstract painting by world-renowned artist Jason Gogo. In keeping with the wine theme, Gogo used Napa Valley grapes to create the vivid wine red paint showcased in his work.
"...... and have the tasting menu!!!! We had no idea what each course was going to be and that turned out to be half the fun! The food was EXCEPTIONAL and don't be alarmed when they say "tasting sized portions", we left STUFFED! Delicious food, wonderful staff, turned out to be one of the nicest dining experiences we have had. We also went on a weekday evening, so the restaurant wasn't too busy, so we felt as though we were really well taken care of."

"the halibut, apparently first of the season, was dry and the accompanying risotto was also dry. It was my impression that the fish had been cooked and reheated. Generally speaking, the dish was flavourless and grossly overrated and over priced as a result!"

"Lovely restaurant but I found it too costly. Not comfortable paying $12.50 for a glass of 6oz wine, which is one you can buy at the local liquor store. The best thing about this place is its location. Ideal for anyone going to an event at the Queen E theater or either of the arenas."

"First time at Q4, and the food and service were outstanding. I had bruschetta for an appetizer, and the tomatoes were ripe and delicious. For mains, I had the Sphagetti; it was spicy and flavorful. My wife had the tuna, which she loved.
Service was attentive, without being annoying. Just right. Wine recommendation was spot on.
Just a terrific evening."

"Went early for dinner before going to the Opera and the food and service were excellent. Very prompt but not rushed service - lots of hockey game, pre-theatre patrons like this location with the proximity to events - highly recommend."

"I had Osso bucco which was excellent with roasted brussel sprounts and mashed potatoes. Excellent. Caesar salad was nicely redolent of anchovies. Great. Service was pleasant and unobtrusive. However, I found two major drawbacks. The most important was extremely loud music with booming bass. I though this was a restaurant, not a rock concert. In addition the loud music, we were also stuck next to a very loud party who later decided were shouting to be heard over the music. I think overall the room has bad acoustics. The other concern was nickel and diming. $3.90 per cup of coffee. Ouch! Another $3.90 when I asked for a refill. Server did not say (she should have) that it was another $3.90. Bad!"

"Me and my girlfriend went there for valentine because their regular menu was really attractive but were told that they have only special menu that day and, honestly, valentine menu is terrible, they charge an extreme prices for food like in a Blue Water cafe, while not having such quality. The service was sloppy and waitress attitude was really annoying. Would not recommend."

"Our waitress Sarah was excellent! We were there for my birthday dinner and she was able to accomodate all of our needs and made a great suggestion on the wine. This was my first time at this location and we will surely be back!!"

"We enjoy dining here every time we attend the Unique Live series and we have our regular table and the hostess recognizes us, which makes it special. I decided to try the rigatoni with the meat sauce and it was so spicy I couldn't eat it. It was't supposed to be spicy and the chef just got carried away, so they substituted the duck confit pasta, quickly and it was fabulous. The desserts were fabulous again as well. Would highly recommend this restaurant. And the wine list is very reasonable and excellent."

"We found the atmosphere very smooth and comfortable. The servers were naturally friendly and tended to our table with professional care. The food was absolutely delicious! We tried a variety of dishes - ravioli piedmontesse, slowraised porchetta, the bistecca espresso cut striploin and all were outstanding! The chocolate hazelnut torte and ciliege filate dessert looked too pretty to eat - but of course they were also delicious and completed our dinner date. This was our first time at Q4 and we will definitely be returning."

"Our Dine Out party of 6 had mixed reviews which is common for Dine Out when eating from a set menu. The starter soup was delightful (butternut squash) but the ragout was uninspiring. The tilapia ordered by 4 of our group was good while the pasta offering was a little too al dente for the 2 who ordered it and one felt it was too salty. The outstanding find of the night was having Burrowing Owl on the wine list -a favourite round the table! Our server was just perfect, there at the right time to refill glasses and take orders but not ever too far away. The atmosphere is modern but cosy and having a round table made for easy conversation."

"a bit noisy with the high ceilings making conversation sometimes difficult to hear. Nice to see so many round tables in the restaurant for parties of 6 or more. We visited during dine-out 2013 and food was surprisingly very good considering we were on a limited menu choice. would go again for casual evening. Nice to know they have free valet."

"First time at a Q4. I've heard good things about the one in Kits so decided to try this during Dine Out. To be honest, this is not the type of restaurant I would regularly dine at. Some might, but for me, the prices put it on the special occasion list. The food was very good as was the service. The portions initially looked to be on the smallish side but the food (polenta with mushroom ragu, pork osso bucco and a phyllo mascarpone dessert)was rich and satisfying. The one complaint I have is that like many restaurants, Q4 offered a "Dine Out" menu. I would've preferred the choices to be from the regular menu, more in line of a tasting menu."

"Too noisy, service was average and slow.We arrived at 7 and our waitress didn't take our order until 740. The food was good but not what we would expect from a restaurant of this category. Reminded me of Earls."

"It was pretty full he hit we went. They tried to put us at this make shift table in the back by the bar. Absolutely horrible table. Pretty sad to even offer hat table. The next table hey offered wasn't much better. How do they decide who to give he poorer tables to. Due to the seating, we did not enjoy."
