Rubirosa is Angelo (AJ) Pappalardo's family-run neighborhood Italian-American restaurant and pizzeria.
The menu at Rubirosa is comprised of Al DiMeglio's (Olana, Osteria del Circo) take on Italian-American classics including a wide array of house-made pastas as well as its flagship thin-crust pizza dating back to a 51 year old family recipe.
The family recipe originated at Joe and Pats pizzeria in Staten Island which is the namesake pizzeria of AJ's father Giuseppe. Our menu is complimented by a unique Italian focused wine, cocktail and spirits program by General Manager/Wine Director Bari Musacchio and talented Bar team.
Rubirosa is located in the heart of Nolita and its clientele bridges the gap between the old and new neighborhood regulars. Angelo Bianchi helps to create a fun crowd in Rubirosa's cozy and comfortable atmosphere that welcomes every occasion from a family-style group dinner to drinks and antipasti at our cozy bar
"The pizza was outstanding...best pizza I have ever had in NYC. Was introduced to Gavi de Gavi wine which paired perfect with the beet and goat cheese salad."

"Food was fantastic. Ambience was great. Only downside was the waiter who was a bit too cool....he was far more interested in gossiping with his colleagues."

"Two words: Vodka Pizza! That is a must. Other items of note: Chicken parm, eggplant parm, the artichoke, swordfish risotto, fluke, the supreme pizza and the donuts! Everything I've eaten here has been outstanding. My parents came to visit from Las Vegas and they liked this place so much we ate here two nights in a row."

"Pizza was terrific. Brick oven. Thin crust and crispy. Loved the sausage pizza. The mushroom was also good, but the sausage was better. My daughter was less excited about her gnocchi."

"Amazing food. Love their meatballs and vodka pizza. Whole wheat and gluten free pizza crusts are very good. Tomato sauce used in their spaghetti and classic pizza is awesome. Flourless chocolate cake it moist and creamy. Good for gluten free and non-gluten free eaters. Make sure you get a reservation because the place gets packed and fast around dinner time on weekends."

"Amazing thin crust pizza (order the Supreme) and great cocktails (another Postcards from Italy please) so what's not to like? Well, maybe eating in the smoky back room (ugh). A seat at the bar is the best."

"the pizza was delicious-very think crust and we had 2 different toppings-volka and white w/spinach...delicious...also had the meatballs which were truly homemade and great along with a pasta...of course, we added 2 desserts-cobbler and flourless cake...I would run back to try the other pizzas and pastas....very enjoyable."
