"We went for the Dine Originals Restaurant Week on March 14, 2010. While the food was amazing, the service was terrible. We sat at our table for 20 minutes before being greeted, then our appetizers arrived before our drinks. The server was forgetful in placing the correct utensils, such as spoons and knives. He also did not ask if we wanted to go boxes, just simply took our half eaten plates. Overall, the food is good and the patio is wonderful. Just hope that the server we had on Sunday was a fluke."

"We have been going to Barcelona for a few years. We always enjoy it. This past occasion we went during "dine originals" week, and they had a three course prix fixe menu in addition to the regular menu. We opted for the prix fixe, and while the food itself was great, the entire meal seemed a bit rushed. The appetizer, main course and dessert weren't on TOP of one another, but there wasn't much time between courses. We were in and out (with a bottle of wine, even) in an hour on a VERY busy Thursday night. I wish that they would've given us a little more time between salad/entree, but other than that, great as usual!"

"This restaurant truly is a gem. I've been several times and have never been disappointed. The food is terrific, carefully prepared and beautifully presented, but it's the service that really sets this restaurant apart. It's a beautiful space with art displayed prominently. "Barcelona is always one of the best places for dinner with friends or a loved one. The extensive wine list offers plenty of wonderful options and is particularly good on Sunday night during un-wined Sundays (wine discounted to retail prices). The food is always fantastic and you are able to find food ranging from gourmet to accessible. The service is always top notch - particularly the bartenders and managers! Finally, the best feature, the Barcelona patio is a great place to spend a spring or summer evening. We usually visit once every couple of weeks and have never been disappointed. "My waiter, Jeff, was OUTSTANDING!!! KUDOS TO THE CHEF!!! The Tres Cerdos was out of this world!!! I had to hold back the desire to pick the bone up and eat the residuals off of it. Also, the beautiful guitar playing and the sangria flowing made our Valentine's day celebration a perfect one!! My only regret out of the whole experience was not ordering two Barcelona Bread Puddings. My wife kept on bringing this up on the ride back home."

"We've all lived in and around Columbus for many years - in our late 30's. Our whole group had a very fine dinner and time at Barcelona. We had not been there in a bit but the food was better than I had recalled. I was quite impressed. My wife is a foodie and she commented that everything was fresh and had good spice - not so bland that it pleases everyone, but real spicing that made you taste it. You could tell there was love put into the food. Overall, glad we rediscovered a great restaurant."

"My friends and I visited Barcelona during Columbus' restaurant week and we were just mesmerized from the moment we walked in out of the cold to a warm, vibrant, and inviting atmosphere. We were impressed by how attentive, professional and friendly the servers were by nicely checking on our meals, refilling our beverages, and changing our silverware for each new course. We tried the hummus and calamari off of the tapas menu and were pleased with the presentation and the different accompaniments. We all ordered the garden caesar salad which was the perfect portion, light, and flavorful. The seafood paella called our names with the delicious rice and seafood to be devoured. The pineapple Catalana was my dessert of choice. A lovely experience!"

"Best part of the meal was the dessert and the sangria. Small unimpressive tapas menu - tuna croquettes could have passed for freezer section fish sticks, and the paella, which they are known for, was average at best. They do have a very large patio given their location in german village, so will go back for drinks on the patio in the summer"

"ONE PHRASE for a romantic dinner --- GO HERE... PERIOD.
3 glasses of wine [reisling], 2 courses for 2, plus dessert for 1, coffee liqueur, and a bottle of miscoti to go with the food being better than 98% of the other places in town --$125 [including tip]. Sounds like a slot?? We pretty much ordered at the very top of the menu, and no place in town has their atmosphere -- Jeans or Suit and you still fit in. Kind of says it all right?"

"I searched the internet for a new place to celebrate my birthday and chose Barcelona because of its menu. My husband and I were not disappointed. The food was great, the staff were attentive without being intrusive and we had a great time. The paella was very good and we both loved the bluecheese scalloped potatoes that accompanied the braised short ribs. THey even gave us my dessert free since it was my birthday. I am sure we will be back!"

"After making a reservation, we still waited close to 45 minutes for our table. This minor discomfort was appeased with a generous free appetizer waiting at the table when we were seated. "A very warm greeting at the front desk. After I had parked in the lot across the street, was advised there is complimentary valet parking at Barcelona. Moved my car from the lot and took advantage of the valet service. The young man was "very" helpful walking me to the door on the black ice. First were seated at a table for two facing the kitchen. Asked to be moved to a table farther back which was no problem. The waiter, Jeff, was most attentive, polite, did not refer to us two ladies as "guys", quoted the specials, checked with us periodically and noted that we were celebrating birthdays. My blackened grouper sandwich tasted a bit strong, vegan soup was good, bread pudding was excellent. Won't hurry back Col has too many other ones"

"Barcelona ranks near or at the top of Columbus' fine dining establishments. If we have out-of-town guests we want to impress we take them to Barcelona. The quality of the dining experience begins with the superb staff. Just as important, there is sufficient staff to permit your server to look after his/her tables. They don't have to become involved in refilling water glasses or bringing out all the food from the kitchen. There are supernumeraries for that, and it is reflected in the quality of the service. The always changing and interesting menu maintains our interest in the food. Whatever we order - tapas, seafood, beef, pork, chicken, etc. - we know it will be an excellent presentation and delicious to the taste."

"I would have given an outstanding rating for the food, except for one flaw. I ordered braised lamb shank accompanied by mashed potatoes. The potatoes had cooled off by the time they were served to me. There were six people at the table, so I assume by plate may have been finished sooner than some of the others. The braised lamb shank itself was great. By far, the favorite dish at our table was the Kurobuta pork rack. Service was marvelous, great ambiance and almost outstanding food."

"My boyfriend and I had both been there and liked it. The bread was delicious, as well as the tomato vinaigrette. We shared the carpaccio which was delicious. I got the beef tenderloin with potato and leek puree and braised kale. Excellent, one of the best meals I have had in Columbus. My boyfriend got the Ribeye and the potatoes served with it tasted a little like soap. Just not a spice mix either of us enjoyed, but the steak was phenomenal. No doubt we would return anytime."

"Excellent. The food and the atmosphere were great. Portions were perfect. Nice wine selection. We had wonderful service. It was a nice find. We were also celebrating a friends 40th birthday and had a large group of 9. They brought out a giant sampling of all their desserts for us to share. One even had a candle in it. Whenever we go back to Columbus, this is a must stop. It will not disappoint."

"Truly exceptional dining experience! The tapas platter was the perfect way to start our luxurious 2 hour meal. Great wine selection. I particularly love the ever-changing line-up of creative and memorably delicious featured entrees. As musicians, we very much appreciate knowing that all staff are either fine artists and/or performers (dance). An artistic sensibility pervades every aspect of this extraordinary restaurant, particularly in the tastes and presentation of the food."

"I've been to Barcelona before for lunch and been very happy with the food and service. I've dined at Barcelona at dinner as well, though less frequently. Usually, I am very pleased with teh overall experience -why else would I keep returning?! This time, however, it was really quite bad . . . the food was simply not good. Several people in my party ordered the steak and it was undercooked, grisly and tough - it leaves me not wanting to return to Barcelona anytime soon. Admittedly, both the server and a manager attempted to reheat the steak, so I cannot fault the service too much - truly, though, i was simply shocked - I have never had something there that was simply poorly cooked. Conclusion: No longer recommend."
