"Every time my family and I have dined at NYAJ's, the service has been outstanding. Fast, friendly, accommodating. During our last visit, I asked if the bread had changed because it was not as good as we'd remembered. Well, minutes later we received a visit from the chef explaining the humidity affected the dough. He brought us a new basket and a friendly smile. : )"

"We used to really enjoy eating at Not Your Average Joe's but lately this restaurant has just disappointed. For a restaurant that brags about "making everything from scratch so please tell us exactly how you would like your food prepared", they really messed up. I ordered a balsamic glazed grilled salmon but asked for the fish to be cooked without the balsamic glaze. A simple request but then when the food was delivered, it had the balsamic. When I pointed it out to the server, no apology, just took it back . And then one of the managers brought out a new plate but again no apology, just a "is this cooked the way you like it?" Service in general was also slow and poor. Probably the last time we will eat here in quite a while."

"I love this restaurant, and so do lots of other people because it is always busy when we go! We went on a Friday night June 7th and it was raining, but the place was still packed! Luckily I had made a reservation using OPEN TABLE--which meant we had a very short wait (we arrived 15 mins early for our reservation). Just enough time to order a drink at the bar. Their cocktails are always very good. The beer my friend ordered was flat and she told the bartender who immediately apologized and offered to provide something else, so problem quickly remedied! We were seated quickly and our server was lovely and friendly. we LOVE the dipping sauce for the bread and our meals were great."

"Many thanks for a wonderful dining experience on Mother's day. As you would expect. it was crazy busy but we were seated within 5 minutes of our reservation. The whole staff worked so well together, it was a pleasurable experience all around. The service was great & the food arrived hot & tasty."

"We hadn't been to Joe's in about a year and after going many times in the past were surprised how much it had changed (for the worse). The focaccia bread that used to be amazing and part of the draw of going was now terrible: tasteless, bland, cold white bread. The shrimp with pesto and vegetables was OK, but only had about 2 snap peas and 4 kernels of corn. The Pizza was OK, but not worth going back for. The only good part was the key lime pie.
Sorry to say, this was probably our last trip to Joe's."

"I love NYAJ's and we go there all of the time. This reservation was on Mother's Day the restaurant was extremely busy. We got there about 15-20 minutes before our reservation time and didn't get seated until 15-20 minutes AFTER our reservation time - with 2 young, hungry children - this was not a relaxing Mother's Day experience. After we were seated, the rest of our meal and the service was great."

"I selected this restaurant because it was closer to my home and had enjoyed other Not Your Average Joe's restaurants. Two of us have to be gluten free and their gf menu is usually good but was very disappointed this time. The lettuce wraps had very little chicken in it and the waitress took it off our final bill. My fish was not pan seared as stated on the menu but broiled with no spices and did not come with mashed potatoes but cole slaw. My husband's scollops were just so so. The service was great but the food was not what I think it could have been."

"We have had some trouble with our favorite restaurants as we transition to a vegetarian diet. We can still enjoy this restaurant though we found that choices were more limited than was probably needed. Some rewriting of the menu with certain side dishes being offered in combination rather than with meat would go a long way and not cause the chefs any difficulty. We were impressed that there seems to have been an effort to remove salt from menu items and we recommend that continue."

"Love this restaurant!!! As you sit, the waiter brings amazing bread and oil dip that is to die for. You could easily make a meal of it.
Food is out of this world. I have been to the restaurant many times and have never been disappointed. They put a twist on the normal. And the specials they come up with on a monthly basis are creative and just plain good.

"I have been eating at Not your Average Joe's for a long time and it has always been consistent. The menu is updated every season and there is always a must order on the new menu before going back to the tradition meals I enjoy. The wait staff has always (100%) been above average. Not grumpy, not over excited, just seem happy to be working there and it shows."

"I took my mother and grandmother out for Mother's Day, and I am so glad that I chose NYAJ. The specials menu for the day was excellent, along with all of the usual selections. We even elected for both an appetizer and dessert, which I rarely do when dining out. Our server was very knowledgable, and service overall was efficient but not rushed. I would absolutely choose this restaurant again for a special event, or just a nice night out with friends or family."

"My mom hadn't been to NYAJ so wanted to try it for her birthday. This is a favorite spot for me and some of my family. One member of the party did not like her meal, it was a special that day, it was sent back. This is unusual for this place and the manager as well as the waitress were quick to try to correct the situation. My sister chose not to order something else, she ate too much of their delicious bread and we were having cake later (not the healthiest diet that day). Everyone else was very happy with their meals and overall we had a good time. In a few weeks when my sister and I are at Cape Cod, we will be visiting one there again. One bad meal will not keep us away because we know it was a fluke. Love this place!"

"The food was very bland. I had the salmon with balsamic vinegar. The server said that the salmon is usually cooked well done. I told her I would rather have it closer to medium. It came well done. Very dry and tasteless. My husband got the sirloin tips.
They also lacked taste. I wouldn't return. It was a typical chain. They claim the food is made to order but it came out of the kitchen way too fast. I got the feeling they wanted to turn the tables over as quickly as possible."

"They accommodated me with gluten free rolls when I asked about it. My Vietnamese salmon was good but the sauce and rice noodles were totally tasteless. I thought the sauce would be bursting with flavor and vegetables. It was disappointing. We opted to go to Dairy Queen for dessert because the desserts were so uninteresting."

"we visit NYAJ's often. This time they were having a $20/bottle wine special. This takes alot of the sting out of a nice dinner (which they always provide) with wine. The short ribs were rich, tender and flavorful (as always) and the daily special of rosemary shrimp with pasta was hit the right balance of light (shrimp) and rich (pasta in herbed cream sauce)."

"B+ (mixed). Usually like NYAJ and consider it a reliable go-to for a reasonable meal that is at a higher level of taste, preparation, and creativity than the usual chain restaurant fare. However, my most recent visit was an unexpected disappointment. The service was great, bread/olive oil/cheese/hot pepper delicious as usual, but my NYAJ salad was unpleasantly vinegary (hard to eat, actually) and entree (stroganoff) was uneven---smooth, flavorful sauce, very tender beef, but the vegetables (carrots, sugar snap pea pods) seemed to have also been vinegar-infused, introducing an inconsistent, inharmonious sourness that fought the smooth, mellow sauce. Dessert (creme brulee cheesecake) was out of this world, and coffee was smooth and delicious."
