"Dinner and service were better than usual on our recent visit. We asked for our salads to be topped with fish -- an especially tasty meal. Other good choices that night were chicken parmesean and a lobster special. If service were always this good, we'd be back here more often. All in all, this was a very nice night out."

"I do not know Italian dining well to make a comment on the type but I do love food. This restaurant was very good. We had seafood for the most part an we were not disappointed. My wife and I plus two boys, 14 and 17, enjoyed our meal thoroughly. The pasteries were delicious as well."

"I was looking for a local restaurant when my daughter was in town. I had never eaten here, so I wanted to try it. The food was awesome...great selection of entrees, nice background music which wasn't loud, cloth-covered tables, and quiet ambience. "Party of five for Mother's Day, including 3 first-time visitors. All were very pleased with their meals. Service was great, as it always is (my wife & I are locals at go to BonCaldo several times/year). One disappointment was the Pork Loin special. Description of "loin" might be technically correct, but it was misleading. It was not the tenderloin, and it was not cooked Medium as requested. It was still tasty and I didn't want to send it back & wait for a new one, just not that big a deal. Otherwise, it was a great meal overall."

"We went to Bon Caldo for a Mother's Day dinner. We were given a comfortable table and the wait staff immediately took care of us. The ambiance was a bit blah but still classy. Unfortunately they were out of the beer I selected (one of my favorites). The Caesar salad was excellent since they make their won dressing. The meatball appetizer was also tasty and the sauce was amazing. My wife did not each much of her haddock since it had a sugary sauce on top. It was supposed to be a lemon butter sauce but you could not taste either. All three of us got broccolini and none of us could eat it. You could not cut it even with a steak knife and if you did get a piece into your mouth you would be chewing forever. The sirloin steak was excellent."

"After not visiting this restaurant for several years, we decided to give it a try. Never again!The waitress was horrible and the food was fair. The caprese salads were unnecessarily overly salted and the tomatoes were not really very ripe. The Chicken Parmesan and Eggplant Parmesan were ok. "Considering I live in Boston and normally go out to eat at the North End and such places, Bon Caldo was a great convenient location near my hometown. We tried it out for the first time and was very pleased. We ordered a calamari to start which was amazing (not too greasy, light and flavorful). For my meal, I ordered the capriccioso which was delicious! On a scale of 1 to 10, I'd rate the dish an 8, overall from presentation to taste."

"This was a terrible experience. We arrived to hear screaming children in the dining room. The waitstaff and manager did nothing to address the issue. The children's parents were allowing them to scream and run around the dining room. Many diners were extremely annoyed. Our server was very unpolished and proceeded to remind us of the "terrible" situation in the dining room. She also threw the chef under the bus while conversing with the table next to ours. Very unprofessional. My husband runs several restaurants. We were astounded at this behavior. The food was very good, but we couldn't wait to leave. So much for a relaxing night out."

"As an international diner I found Boncaldo to have many high points . There wine selection is outstanding, and the meals are fresh and home made but are single noted flavors. Boncaldo may be upscale dinning to the suburban folk , however as an experienced diner it lacked the basics. For a $30 dollar entree I would like freshly cracked pepper which they do not offer. Also butter is served straight from the fridge , hard and not spreadable. To be a creditable upscale resturant you can't cut corners.This resturant has great potential and the food is ok."

The eggplant appetizer was a bit heavy in oil but it is exactly how my grandmother would have made it. Clams and shrimp on perfect al dente linguini was also delicious. "The food and wine selection was great. I had the braised short rib papparedelle and side of rabbi with a super tuscan wine which was fantastic. The food was fresh and simple. The pasta was homemade and a good amount. My husband had the chicken parm which was ok. There was a heavy fried taste to the chicken but, the sauce was good. However, the waiter had no clue!! He spilled my wine and kept interupting us to take away things. He didn't know the specials or food he was serving. Good thing the food was good and atmophere was pleasant with Italian music."

"We went to Bon Caldo for the first time last Sat. night. We were not disappointed with the food, there was four of us dining and we all got something different.... all the dishes were delish! The service was outstanding our server Lauren was top notch, everyone was finished except for one in our party and when Lauren came over to check on us she didn't start removing the dishes of those of us that were done, she waited until we all were finished. When servers start to remove dishes before everyone is done I find totally rude, what a delight to find a server that does it right. We were so impressed we decided the next day to book it for our son's rehearsal dinner for August. I'll post how that turns out later."

"So you know how Olive Garden is a step up from Bertucci's? This is a BIG step up from Olive Garden. BTW, I like both Bertucci's and Olive Garden. This place is just very, very good. We met friends there - we came from Needham and they came from Franklin. Great wine list and martinis. Calamari appetizer was tender, crispy and lightly breaded. One of the specials was Pork Osso Buco and it was outstanding. Veal Marsala was terrific as well. Can't wait to go back. Easy to get to and easy to park."

"I always enjoy the ambiance at Bon Caldo. It is a great place for a romantic dinner or dining with a group of friends. The decor is very nice, esp the central fireplace. The wait staff is polite and attentive. The menu offers an excellent selection at reasonable prices. The portions were good and the food was delicious! I will definitely be back again."

"This was much better than usual -- a big improvement over the last time we visited. Pear salad with grilled chicken was great, as was a grilled salmon dish. The crostata dessert was sweet but delicious. Service was also much improved over the last time we were there. Bon Caldo is now back on our list!"
