"We went to NYAJ Norwell for Mother's Day with my Mom and my two kids (one teen, one school age). They were able to accommodate our request for a booth which makes Mom more comfortable. Nick our server was attentive and able to get our special orders for picky eaters right. My steak tips were cooked perfectly as they always are at Joe's. My daughter was able to create her own meal creation building from bits and pieces of existing menu items. The Strawberry Shortcake for dessert was great - that the proceeds went to a breast cancer charity was a nice touch. Overall, a great experience which we are sure to repeat!"

"On a recent visit to Not Your Average Joe's in Norwell on a busy Friday night, the service was great, the food
was hot, the waitstaff was attentive and very pleasant and the dessert was amazing! I was able to use
a birthday coupon good for one entree and one dessert during your birthday month. This turned out to be a
$25 value, a very generous gift! We were heading to the theater after our meal a recent warm evening and the waitress gladly
complied with our request to put a bag of ice under the leftovers so they would keep while we went to see
the show. Oh did I mention the bread and dipping sauce? Amazing! Sign up at the restaurant to join the
email list and receive menu updates as well as your birthday coupon for a meal on Joe!"

"We had no wait with reservations and a nice window table. With and elderly disabled Mom in the group we enjoyed seeing her take in the activity around us. The food was tasty, a bit unusual, and timely served. The service was quite good for a busy day. An overall relaxed and fun experience with loved ones."

"Our server was very pleasant. Chef was great as well as management. What a great surprise the dishes when the server delivered them to our table. They were plated very nicely and the flavors were just outstanding! Everyone in our party was pleased with their choices. I cannot wait to return. The gluten free options were great! Perfect day!"

"The food was terrific as always. But, we were pretty disappointed by the service. Not our waitress-- she was wonderful. The problem was that the hostess forgot to send someone over at first, so we sat there for 20-25 minutes without anyone coming over. At all. As in, not even for a drink order. She did apologize, but I just felt like they should've done something, even if it was only comping our coffees with dessert. Just some kind of gesture. We're repeat customers there and I expected more from them."

"I have been to "Not Your Average Joes" a number of times before and have had great experiences. This time i was not impressed by my meal..i orderd scallops on s skewer and substituted the side dish (couscous w/squash) for asparagus. I only got 4 scallops and maybe 5 or six asparagus for $19.99. I didnt think that was worth it. The scallops were just ok too, nothing great.
On the ohter hand, they gave us a free appetizer of coconut shrimp which was delicious just because they seated us 10 minutes late. I thought that was really nice. also i love the sangria there and the bread is to die for! I will go back."

"NYAJ is always the restaurant of our choice before all the shows at Company Theatre! The complimentary bread and dip is a always a hit! 2 diners ordered Steak Tips with the garlic mashed potatoes and both were very pleased, the portions were so large that doggie bags were in order. Another diner ordered the Herb Encrusted Haddock, as she always does, because once again it was a hit with her! I ordered the Chicken Piccata with Fettucine and it was delicious, portions here were abundant also. None of the diners saved room for dessert, maybe next time!"

"Another excellent meal at Joe's. This restaurant has become our favorite place to eat before going to the Company Theater which is right around the corner. On this night we were going to see Chicago. (outstanding!) Don't forget to show your waiter your tickets to the show, they give a 15% discount to theater goers. On this visit the food was great as usual but wanted to give a special thanks to our waiter. Wish I had gotten his name but didn't. He was a tall slightly older gentleman who provided impeccable service along with a great sense of humor and personality. We were seated right away in a booth (as was requested on our Open Table reservation) and were not rushed in the least yet never had to wait for anything. The best."

"Took the family on a busy Saturday night. Made online reservations earlier in the day, so we were seated right away. Our server was cheerful and helpful. The manager stopped by our table to check on us. Everything was great. The food was excellent and reasonable priced. The service was outstanding! Would make this a regular choice for dinner or lunch. "Service was excellent, manager on the floor making sure everyone is happy , very attentive wait staff. Modern decor, casual. Varied menu, no problem with special requests for changes on my meal. Great bread served with oil, red pepper and Parmesan.. Would highly recommend. We had a turkey burger comes with a Mediterranean salad and dressing on the side, and broiled scrod with double veggie, peanut butter "thang" for dessert. huge, way too big for one person to eat. If you are on the email list they send you a birthday coupon yearly for free dinner and dessert, up to a $30 value off the check. Can't beat it. Shiraz was good, my husband enjoyed a glass of Cabernet . Wine was $8.00 and $8.50 a glass, decent pour."

"Corned beef dinner was cold, and the potatoes were uderdone. One member of my party orderd the lamb kabobs said they were fairly tasteless. The server, Casey (?) was spot on, making herself available at appropriate times. We have noticed a general decline in the quality of cuisine over the past five yeas or so at this particular restaurant."

"Even though we had made a reservation we waited over 15 minutes. When we arrived we were told they were clearing the table for us but we were given a table monitor. I approached the hostess and inquired snout the wait. The manager then took over , apologized for the delay and offered us a complimentary app! Smart manager, happy customers. The food was very good. I would make a return visit."

"food is always good here but noise level can be a bit much! My husband was disappointed with the value he got for his meal. The lamb kebab was short on lamb and high priced.
Still love the fact that if it is within a wk or two of one's birthday - you can get a free meal ( anything on the menu!) and dessert. that is very generous and we always take advantage of the offer!"

"We went to NYAJs especially for their St. Patty's Day special, Corned Beef and Cabbage. We made a reservation and were seated promptly (we arrived slightly early and were seated ahead of our time, which was wonderful). The meal was promptly served and was absolutely delicious. It was a loud atmosphere that night, a little louder than I prefer but it was fine. Was a wonderful experience."

"The food wasn't quite right. I often go to the Not Your Average Joe's in Randolf, and always order the same thing - the mustard crusted chicken. Randolf has always made this dish perfect. I love it! Norwell, was not quite right. The chicken tasted mostly of vegetable oil -couldn't taste the mustard at all. It also had a cut into to see if it was cooked through, and the green beans were a little under cooked. I will rather go to the one in Randolf, which is further away, but worth it for the better cooking. Also, my husbands jumbalya's rice was under-cooked.
Service was great though!"

"We went somewhat early before a performance at the local playhouse. Unfortunately it seems everybody going to the theater had the same idea. Even though it was early it seemed they were being bombarded all at once. The host was a bit frazzled and seemed a little annoyed when we asked for a larger table after he tried to seat us at a table that was way too small to accommodate two adults with dinners and drinks. (the size of an end table) We had requested a booth on our reservation. We ended up at a larger table in the bar area.
That was the end of the unpleasantness. Although we do not like the high energy bar atmosphere, we got a great waitress and the food was phenomenal as usual. All's well that ends well."

"The food here is very good and the atmosphere is nicer casual without feeling stuffy. We had a large party and the staff was extremely attentive and welcoming. We lingered for a couple of hours and never felt rushed. It's a good deal for the money and we would definitely be back."

"We had a group of nine and the staff was fantastic! We were seated promptly and the food and waitstaff were terrific. Our group had some vegans and vegetarians ans sell, and there was no problem selecting food to fit everyone. We also got an unexpected discount because we were attending a show at the nearby Company Theater. I would definitely recommend this restaurant."

"I've been to this restaurant for many birthday dinners with my family and have never had a bad meal or service. For a chain restaurant the food is excellent with a wide selection on their menu and they offer seasonal chef specialities. The price is average. Expect to pay @ $70 for a family of four and even more if you drink alcohol. I've never had a long wait. This location is managed very well."

"My salad was limp, I asked for no BBQ sauce or bun but I got it on my burger anyway. The coffee was mud for $3 a cup! It should be better for the price of food and drink. We won't be returning."
