"Every time we eat here its great! We went on a Monday for 1/2 price appetizers- calamari ,tuna (rare and over lettuce with melon) and best of all Josephine''s mussels in cream, butter ,wine and a corn relish. Why would you eat at home?"

"The food is good. The ingredients are fresh. We had the oyster app. Which was excellent . However ,I had the salmon which was a very busy plate. A little too busy. I get the fusion concept but I did not see the chefs vision for that particular dish. It ended up being a a little too salty. The desert was excellent, we had the Crem brûlée. I wish that a high end restaurant like this one would carry a few more wines. I am a petite Syrah fan and the glass I had was good however I have had better. Overall it was a good dining experience but it is pricey which is why I only go to such restaurants on special occasions; it was our anniversary ."

"I have enjoyed many meals at Josephine's but I would not recommend the paella. It mentioned a "seafood sausage" but it was a patty instead. Of course I will go back there, but I wouldn't order the paella."

"We have been here several times and unfortunately we are less impressed each time. Our first experience was great and since then we have found the menu choices limiting and this past visit was so so. It was a Monday so the staff might not have been the A-team, the service was slow and our ravioli appetizer came out cold and dried out twice. On a positive note the fried oysters, scallop salad and fried green tomato's were great. They started as a great neighborhood gem but now I'm not so sure."

"Josephine's is a Greensboro gem which I typically would not expect to find in a smaller southern city. I travel extensively and this restaurant rivals and outshines the bistros that I have dined at in the Northeastern metro areas of the US. Excellent and very attentive service complements the exquisite menu and daily specials offered by Josephine's. We will make it the prime dining choice when traveling back to Greensboro on business."

"Mussels appetizer was delicious and nice portion size. Both crab cakes and salmon entrees were overly rich..salmon was undercooked. Nice ambiance, but very loud. Table are too close together. Overall Ok, but there are several other local choices with better food."

"Always good. Exciting place that deserves repeat business. Food is exceptional and all dishes are inviting. Wine list. Is good but confusing to some who don't recognize the cute names for some od the offerings ("Gun bun"). Sometimes the reds are too warm so make sure you ask your server about this. Looking forward to returning."

"A great opportunity to try different dishes with the small dish option. Great cosmos, if you go after 9pm on a Saturday, all the early birds have left and you can bring your "party" with you."

"This was the third time back in a year. The food and service was outstanding. I had the Chicken Milanese and I have to say, it was wonderful! For an appetizer, we had the fried oysters - also fantastic! This is a destination restaurant while in Greensboro!!"

"The food was excellent, better in fact than the very good food I'd had on previous visits. My dinner companion and I both had "caesar salads," which were very fresh and actually a little spicy, which I liked--not classic caesar, though, with a different dressing and some extra fixings (maybe some bacon?). She had a small plate crab cake, which was delicious and came on a not-at-all-small bed of mashed potatoes. I had the sauteed snapper with lobster/pea risotto and some sugar peas, and it was terrific. I haven't been all that keen on risotto in the past but this was wonderful. The portion was large and I took half home, so though it was a pricy dish at $30, I did make two dinners of it. NZ Sauvignon Blanc is a great addition to wine list."

"This restaurant is a great concept, but I feel like the quality of the food has not caught up to it yet. I think it will eventually. In the meantime, the staff is amazing, and the desserts were excellent."

"This restaurant very nicely continues to receive (and plan for) reservations, while many restaurants in Greensboro no longer have this practice. Josephine's had our table set up and the very nice host learned of my last name, and then led our group to our table without hesitation. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. In addition, servers from other tables who were passing by very nicely cleared plates from our table on the way to the kitchen."

"Not a very relaxing or enjoyable experience. Lots of traffic behind my chair throughout the night. Constantly bumped during dinner like I had an aisle seat in an airplane. Tables too close to on another. Our table was in direct path to the kitchen. Not ideal for a romantic dinner. More like a bar than a restaurant. Also had difficulty parking."

"Josephine's is a must-try. I drove 2 1/2 hours from central VA to Greensboro just for dinner and I was not disappointed (although looking at the building from the outside made me wonder if I made the right choice). The food was fresh, the ingredients local, and every dish from appetizer to dessert was prepared to perfection... portion sizes were great... excellent flavor pairings in every dish! Our server was delightful and even though they were very busy, she took the time to chat with us when she was at the table and was attentive to all our dining needs. I look forward to returning very soon as the dinner was that great!!"

"We dined the Friday after Valentine's day, what was missed in the service (our waiter, an older gentleman 1) forgot our wine: we ordered a bottle, and even after the entree appeared we had to ask about the wine and 2) discussed his ex-wife ad nauseum (it was valentine's weekend, negativity about your ex was not really needed, or wanted).
the food compensated for the poor service. I had the argullia salad with the fried egg, and it may have been the best salad I have ever eaten, bar none. My wife had the soup, and neither of us can recall what it was. Our entrees: Pork Osso Buco and the Grouper were great. The Osso Buco featured turnip greens which were great.
This restaurant is a gem, even a poor server cannot stop my return"

"We love Josephine's, but we do wish that there were a few more options (or even one, consistently) for people who don't eat pork (and don't always want fish). Do you need to add bacon to the chicken dish? To the salad? Could there be an occasional vegetarian entree? We will keep coming because we love a lot of things about the restaurant--the wonderful staff, the ambiance, the cocktails--but would be very happy to see one or two more things on the menu not involving red meat."

"First time here-glad to see that Greensboro is improving it's better dining options in town, as well as supporting local farming. We were greeted and seated (with a reservation) immediately. Pleasant decor and a small, comfortable bar. Although our server was efficient, he had little personality; I don't expect the wait person to be my best friend, but a little effort on being cordial goes a long way with me. Our soup and fried oyster appetizer were served hot and tasty. Our entrees-beef tenderloin, scallops and bolognese, were all delicious, as well. There isn't enough room to go into detail about each dish, but we were pleased and will return."

"A perfectly divine evening! I had requested a table in which four friends who don't see each other often could enjoy great food, wine, and be able to chat comfortably. The table selection was great in that the location allowed us to visit and enjoy our evening. The food was absolutely delicious, healthy and we all love that local food is served when possible. Drew did an outstanding job of taking care of us in that he was very attentive and yet gave us space to visit and feel comfortable ordering at our leisure. The staff is outstanding - One of my favorite Greensboro restaurants! Gayle Smedberg"

"We couldn't say enough good things about Josephine's. This place is definitely a gem. We ordered the pan-seared salmon and the crab cake. The salmon was served with a mushroom tart that was tasty and flaky. The crab cake was served atop the best mashed potatoes (with celery root). Our server was attentive and very nice. Although we didn't order dessert, the options sounded delicious and are made by an on-site pastry chef."

"The menu was not overwhelming but had enough variety to please just about anyone. The variety of ingredients and use of unique/imaginative combinations of flavors was refreshing. Every category on the menu (appetizers, small plates, entrees, desserts) all had several unique standout dishes. We love cheese and they had a spectacular cheese selection the night we were there. I ordered a piece of grouper and it was prepared just perfectly, nice moinst and tendter along with some japanese vegatables. My wife had a bolognese made with braised short rib and italian sausage and several species of wild mushrooms (that I cant pronounce). Both were great. The details, right down to the cocktails were paid attention to. Deginately going back."

"Decor and ambiance are very nice. Food was good but not remarkable. Bourbon pecan pie was hard as a rock. Service was a tad slow and confused at times. Several attempts to deliver the wrong food to table. At end, got the wrong check initially. We had leftovers which the waiter boxed up for us to take home. When we got home and opened the box, we discovered that the waiter had sent us home with someone else's food. Food was pricey. We had three cocktails total, 2 desserts, two appetizers, and an expresso which cost $76 before tip."

"Food is very good, but I don't like the table setup. Tables are arranged less than 2 feet from each other, so that when I'm out on a date with my wife, I feel like I can't comfortably carry on a conversation with her. I hear everything that the neighboring tables are discussing, so I'm sure they hear me as well. Food is definitely worth a return visit, though."
