For a true Spanish dining experience, visit Andanada. Our two-time, two-star Michelin chef, Manuel Berganza, turns traditional Spanish dishes into works of art, all while remaining true to the flavors of Spain.
"We were there on a Tuesday night and we decided to try almost everything on the tapas menu. We had the roasted eggplant with hazelnuts, the shrimp in garlic sauce, the mini potatoes with black olives, pork loin croquettes, fried calamari with squid ink aoli sauce. octopus with mashed potato puree, meatballs in cilantro sauce, and the sausage selection. We highly recommend the roasted eggplant, octopus, shrimp and calamari tapas plates.
The red sangria was very good. We also tried the torrijas, custard and the mousse. They were just okay.
The service was excellent. The waitress gave us very good recommendations, and explained every tapas plate for us."

"We ate at Andanada for the second time on Saturday and it surpassed our fairly high expectations from our first visit. This is not a "super high-end" spot and we have still only eaten off the small plate menues - haven't tried the mains yet. On our most recent visit though we added two paellas (for 4 of us) to a selection of three of the tapas dishes. Along with a pitcher of sangria it made for a great night. Finally, the wine list is decent - some good Spanish selections - but the cocktails are excellent."

"The staff were attentive as soon as we walked in and the service continued to be accumulate throughout the evening. The menu promises much, we wanted to try all the tapas! Although each tapas was a very good size, the food was adequate. Nothing to gush about to our friends the following day. Although there may have been a subtlety to the flavours intended, for us it was rather too subtle. The wine list is wonderful and choices selected by the wait staff matched the food."

"New to neighborhood restaurant. Food only fair and priced high for that. Paella not authentically prepared, served in no stick pan. Ambiance and noise levels way better than average, but not sold out. Staff friendly and attentive. Good for appetizers and a drink. Skip the mains until/unless they get the paella right."

"Saturday brunch was delightful. Interior of restaurant is beautiful w/a relaxing enclosed terrace. Murals abound. Service was excellent, the sangria was delicious, and our entrees perfect. Try the Huervo Iberico Benedito(the bed of chorizo/potato hash is amazing) and the 'Trio'. Both were mouthwatering."

"A very enjoyable ambience and experience. Four of us shared one main and 4 tapas and really enjoyed them. Very moist and flavorful meatballs, and an interesting (in a good way), delicious pulpo/potato dish. The 2 desserts we shared were quite good-the goat cheese cheesecake was amazing. Our server was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive, without being intrusive."

"I went there last night with my friend. The ambience was really nice and the place beautiful with plenty of colors on the walls. We shared some tapas. The albondigas, the cheese plate and the octapus were my favourite. For entree I had the red snapper and for desert we shared the torrijas. Great flavors! The service was reliable. Our server helped us to choose a very good wine, because we didn't know many things about spanish wines. I would go again."

"It took 20 min to get a drink at the bar, and there were only four patrons at the bar when I arrived. Then an hour later (after having a reservation) we were given a table...but the place was half full. And by the time we got to the table, we kept getting serviced with the same questions by two different waiters for our table - it was like the film, Ground Hog's Day. After leaving with a $220 bill for two, and not having even ordered a bottle of wine or dessert, there is no way we would go back -complete disaster."

"This is a wonderful restaurant though a little expensive. We did only tapas and enjoyed all of them. Only complaint is slightly sloppy service in terms of timing. Our last course was a cheese course, and they brought that out when we still had one and one-half other courses on a very small table. They were nice when we asked them to take it back until we were ready. Will go again."

"Very disappointing in its new ownership. While the food is tasty, portions are small and prices too high. A #25 plate of Iberico ham came completely ungarnished and without bread. Haphazard service was a downer./ Too bad."

"Went on the night of the Oscars, so were the only patrons in the joint except for one of the owners and his guest. The decor is lovely and we were hopeful for an experience of private dining. Unfortunately, the waiter started by breaking the cork in the wine bottle we chose. The 4 tapas we ordered were completely bland ( the waiter took the gambas al ajillo back to the kitchen, where they simply added sliced garlic). The owner , several tables away, was yammering on his cell phone nearly the whole time, in high decibel distracting Castillian Spanish. We couldn't finish our bottle of cork-flecked wine fast enough, and escape."

"Wonderful selection of tapas. We had 4: Brussels sprouts, selection of 4 Spanish cheeses, pork loin croquettes and octopus with creamy potatoes. All excellent. Dessert was rice pudding with cinnamon ice cream and a crispy rice tortilla. Service superb. Good selection of Spanish wines. Our tempranillo was very good. Worked great before Lincoln Center ballet."

"This was a very good surprised for me and my girlfriend. I just had lost the expectation about Spanish Restaurants in NYC, they always try to imitate the flavor of Spanish food but its always very bad, but this place prepare the food in a very interesting way that made me really enjoy it. The Tapas are amazing, the Migas al Pastor, Albondigas and Patatas Bravas were just sublime. The place is absolutly beautiful, you feel in a Spanish Restarant with chic. They have one of the best spanish wine menu I have seen in the City. I will definitly come back very often to this place."

"My husband and I live close by and go out to dinner often in and out of the neighborhood. The space Andanada occupies has been 3 different restaurants in what seems like the past 2 years but I am hoping that this one stays for a long while. The food was delicious and unique. We shared most of the tapas and my favorite was the gazpacho. YUM! The staff was also very knowledgable and friendly. We were the last reservation of the night and they didn't rush us at all and there were a few people at the bar still even at 11 on a Tuesday night on the UWS. The space is also very cute with a glass garden in the back room. I am looking forward to dining there again soon."

"We went for date night. The portions of the tapas were really generous for the price. We loved the presentation of the potatoes bravas. The aioli was nice and garlicky and the texture of the olive powder was fun. Anytime I get to play with my food I'm happy! I was pleasantly surprised that the salsa brava had a bit of bite.
Other things we loved was the roasted pumpkin salad with the Manchego and Spanish blue cheese although I would have toasted the walnuts. The beef carpaccio was delicious. It had my boyfriend's favorite things: cornichons, caper, olives and cheese scattered across it.
Another hit was the gazpacho! It looked like a cocktail but was only $4.00. The boyfriend loved it."

"I HAVE ALREADY TOLD MY UWS BUDDIES TO TRY THIS RESTAURANT OUT! I will even make the trip across town again for another meal here! The food & staff will NOT disappoint. Excellent tapas. Definitely try the patatas bravas and the albondigas- best meatballs I have had in awhile!, but go outside your comfort zone and order the Pulpo al a Gallega. Perfectly grilled octopus nestled under a pillow of potatoe puree. Also, try the Pate de Cabracho- scorpoin fish flan!!!! The flan was light and perfectly seasoned, but the it was the eggplant caviar that gave it that zing. The bartenders know their wine- they suggested a grenache that went with everything. I even sampled their spring cocktail, the Andanada, definitely wakes up the palate!!"

"had great expectations for Andanada 141 with Manolo Berganza, their dynamic young chef, at the helm. Berganza's culinary repertoire is replete with delicious, creatively crafted, thoughtfully prepared, well executed fare made with the freshest of ingredients. More than just a twist on traditional Spanish fare, the fundamentals remain while dishes are elevated, all quite satisfying and amazing. The Spanish wine list was well thought out, fit to satisfy any palate. It covers wine regions from across Spain, from a bone dry Manzanilla to their fine selection of whites and reds. There's surely something for everyone. Like the food, the wines were quite reasonable. A true gem on the UWS. Worth the trek, even for downtown dwellers like myself."

"most impressed by ambiance,.very attractively decorated ordered from the tapas menu which was limited and more pricey than equivalent tapas menus in the area .. 2 of the 4 tapas were not served hot enough. and served later than than first 2 causing a delay eating our meal as planned. portions were just right to share between 2 people. . ... Service was very good , waiter pesronable and attentive ,however would suggest more staff be from Spain or at least more knowledgeable of menu items, their ingredients /preparation .. same with wine lis
would return if in the neighborhood but not go out of my way , preferring other similar spanish restaurant menus in the city"

"We loved our dining experience at Andanada 141. Up until now, we've been going to Spanish restaurants downtown but Andanada 141 offers a dramatic, romantic setting and a modern, elegant dining presentation that the downtown restaurants do not offer. The food was quite good. The decor -- the murals, romantic vibe -- makes Andanada a perfect place for special occasions and date nights."
