"I ordered a caesar salad and the filet and I had to return both. The salad had absolutely no flavor and the filet tasted as if it had been sitting in oil. I was not charged for the food but I was amazed that the manager sat at the bar doing a crossword puzzle and never came to apologize or even stand when we were leaving. I would not recommend this to anyone who enjoys fine dining."

"This is a great choice if you are visiting Columbia or a local. We were greeted promptly, our reservation was in order and we were seated right away. The service was very nice, professional and competent. The food was exceptional, delicious bread and salad very fresh. (I am very picky about lettuce and fresh salads). I had a filet cooked exactly as ordered served with mashed potatoes and very good haricot verts. I regret that we did not have desert. I think you will be very happy if you choose Hampton Vineyard."

"Although it has been some time since we have had dinner here, not much has changed. Food was good, but not memorable. The presentation could use some work. Our server was friendly and informative, however, since we did not order appetizers or salad, she put the order in and had the meal in front of us before we could finish our first glass of wine. I felt like I was in a diner - in and out in 45 minutes. This is a nice lunch spot in good weather with a small outdoor seating area. I wish there was a better way to hide the kitchen activities from the dining room. All in all, a nice spot for downtown business district meal."

"Best food I had in Columbia, after other disappointments during 4-day visit. Service, waitstaff excellent. Great wine list, lots of variety. I had a well prepared, tasty veal chop, with a nicely flavored but overly sweet root veg-polenta side dish. Lightly grilled oysters served warm were good with lemon; forget the thousand island dressing. Pleasant room, not too noisy. General impression: healthier, lighter but nonetheless adventurous cooking hasn't penetrated this part of the world quite yet."

"Hampton Street Vineyard is a nice cozy place for dinner if you are looking for something quiet with pretty good food. The cheese plate was great with a wonderful cheddar with caramelized onions. We split a salad and dinner and the kitchen was nice enough to put them on separate plates and split the meal for no extra cost. It is very reasonable as well."

"My wife and I visited the HS Vineyard for Valentine's and the ambiance was cozy, warm and intimate. It was the perfect place to take a date.
We started at the bar, which is small - seats maybe 8 people - and it's near the front door, so sit on the inside wall to avoid the cold air (when applicable). We moved to the main restaurant and had a table "in the middle row" but we didn't feel like we were constantly barraged by foot traffic. It still felt like a great table.
I would recommend this restaurant for anyone that likes great food and a classy atmosphere.
Not for the cost-conscious but overall I recommend the restaurant."

"This lunch was fabulous. It was a special treat for my young daughter and I even called ahead with a special menu request which they fulfilled with no hesitation. We expected white linens, which it was a bit more rustic, however it was fabulous.
Our waitress was perfect, present when wanted and absent when enjoying the meal. I especially love a waitperson who isn't afraid to recommend a dish with strong opinion and when I chose her recommendation I was truly delighted.
Overall, A FABULOUS experience. Can't wait to go for my anniversary next month."

"Enjoyed the lump crab cake, which was probably one of the best I've ever eaten. The appetizer on special for the evening was flash-fried oysters, which were pretty good. The highlight for me was their chocolate-caramel cake that has a layer of crunchy toffee in the center. Delish!"

"Originally we had a group of 8 ladies but then it became apparent that we may need seating for up to 4 more. The reservation taker went out of his way to accommodate a group of 12 and then 2 ladies cancelled within 30 minutes of the reservation and 2 were not committed. Upon learning that we would only have 8, we slid down freeing up one of the tables (it is a smallish restaurant). Quietly restaurant staff pulled the other table away and it did end up being used. The food took awhile to come out but that was okay because it just gave us a chance to visit more. Everyone enjoyed their food and I saw a lot of clean plates! It was a little pricey compared to what I'm used to but that was due to two glasses of wine at over $10 each."
