"We are given exceptional personal attention and always made to feel welcome. From fixing an appetizer that's not on the menu, to turning the music down over our booth, to substituting sides and salad dressings, the staff couldn't be friendlier, more helpful or accommodating. "Took my parents here for Mother's Day and my mom thoroughly enjoyed the food. We got the crab dip as an appetizer and it was amazing. My mom got the health nut salad, dad the salmon cakes, and me the shrimp and grits. for dessert mom got the strawberry shortcake and me the key lime pie. Everything was excellent. The food is always really good here and you get quite a lot for the price. Our waitress was a little overly exuberant and was loud but she did a good job."

"I give priority to private, locally owned establishments and Winston's will not dissapoint. Service is awesome and the menu, while not extensive, is one that will appeal to any preference albeit notably american in the entrees. The food is fresh and prepared well; offered in pleasing sized portions. We tried the calamari and sashimi tuna apps and both were fantastic. I went with my fav "shrimp n grits" which was excellent and my lovely wife went right to dessert; you can't go wrong there--all are made in-house and delicious. We love to sit out on a nice evening and Winston's has a great outdoor area. A long time Raleigh go-to--suggest you put it on your keeper list."

"I've been to this restaurant on a couple occasions. It never disappoints. The staff works hard to accommodate accordingly and we received our food in a timely manner considering Mother's Day, graduation and prom events going on. "The night we went to Winston's we waited for 15 min past our reservation time before finally saying something to the hostess again as she sat countless other tables who did not have a reservation. Our waiter was slow and was probably overwhelmed with the number of tables he had. The service was lackluster and it took over an hour and a half to receive our entrees. The food was not spectacular, just "good". Probably something ou could find similarly at a run of the mill steak chain.
After the dinner service a tray of plastic desserts is presented to you, as though these plastic concoctions look appealing (they are far from). Always happy to support a local business, however I won't be bringing my support back to Winston's."

"This was our first visit to Winston's Grille….it was perfect! My daughter wanted to go there for her 10th birthday because a friend at school recommended it. We have two younger daughters also and we all had a wonderful experience. No wait, great food, kid friendly but very adult friendly as well! We will go back!"

"My husband and I went to Winston's for our five year anniversary. We usually visit this restaurant on special occasions and have always enjoyed the food. This time however the dish I had upset my stomach quite a bit. It's the same dish I always get when we go there so I was a little bit disappointed. "Our real estate agent recommended Winston's as a great place to dine when we moved to the Raleigh area. We finally ate there this week. Our meals were excellent, the service great and the food prepared perfectly at a moderate price. The wood paneled interior gives the restaurant an upscale feel. "Although I live in the neighborhood, my wife and I have cut back on dining out, so I don't visit as often as I used to. In the past month, I've dined at Winston's once with our neighbors and once for business. In both visits, the food and service were great. My business associate was delighted when I suggested Winston's as it is one of her favorite restaurants. Over the years, I've never had a bad experience at Winston's. The floor plan has lots of rooms and nooks, which serve to limit noise to an acceptable level. The wait staff is friendly and attentive without interrupting. "we had reservations for late Sunday afternoon (4pm) Easter. Had requested a booth, but when we got there none were available. No big deal over that. I ordered one of the "specials" of the day a cobb salad. It was noted, from the waitress this came with avacados, boiled eggs, bacon, and tomatoes. I received something that looked like a side salad and had two thumbnail size bits of avacado in it, some tomato and eggs. The lettuce was large, not bite sized. What a disappointment. Winston's needs to clean up its act with their food!!!"

"Let me start by saying that I love Winston's and have been going there for close to 20 years. This day was marred somewhat by a disappearing waiter, appetizer arriving after the meal, and overcooking mine and my husband's food. Otherwise, the blueberry muffins were delicious and plentiful. Service is usually exceptional so I let it pass this time."

"Disapointed with this visit. Several service problems. Water was added to my daughters Sprite glass, waitress didn't even ask just poured in water and walked away. Wrong dressing was brought with salad, even though the order was repeted twice. Entree's arrived about 4 min's after the salads were served, we were only half finished with the salads. Pan seared scallops were missing any sort of sear. The resturant was only about 1/3 full but felt rushed to complete our meal and go. We have be here before and have had good food and service, not sure that we will be in any hurry to return."

"Lunch at Winston's is a frequent choice for me. Usually the food, atmosphere and service is the best. If you want a quiet table for conversation you must request otherwise you may be seated next to a large LOUD group. That can ruin the experience. You may have to wait for a quiet spot but it is well worth it if conversation, good food and excellent service is what you are after."

"We decided to have drinks on the outside patio and because it was a beautiful evening we decided to eat out there as well. The service on the patio was absolutely top notch! Our waitress and her back up were both at the top of thier game, friendly, knew the menu, great suggestions. Our drinks were refilled as needed, didn't have to wait for our meals. The scallop and grits special was excellent-as was suggested by our waitress. My husband also enjoyed the Ribeye special. Thanks!"
