A small, cozy upscale restaurant that serves exquisite Northern Italian food in a warm and inviting ambiance with excellent service. Come and try our delicious daily specials for either lunch or dinner. If you have never tried our homemade tiramisu, come and visit us. You will not be disappointed!

"The food was good, the waiter quirky and extremely over-attentive but the place was practically empty so it's not surprising. I think the food and its presentation as well as the decor was extremely old fashioned and there are times when that is perfectly okay. I would rather not have the edges of my plate covered in chopped fine parsley, but the veal was delicious. For the amount of food and the fact that it was a lunch menu, I thought it was a bit over-priced. I might go back and try dinner there sometime, but it takes too long to be served to be good for lunch unless you don't have to get back to work."

"We love Bellissimo! The food is delicious, wine list admirable, environment warm and inviting. For the past 3 years that we have dined there, we get the same waiter consistently. He is exceptional. When we visited there a few weeks ago, there was a distinct difference in service with two new waiters. Not good - slow, inattentive, no personality. We hope that our next visit will be different with the former waiter back and the new additions having received some service excellence training."

"We've been to Bellissimo several times before, but it has been awhile since we've eaten there--bad mistake! I'd forgotten just how spectacular their food is, particularly their specials (which I've never regretted selecting). This time I had spinach ravioli filled with veal surrounding a tenderloin medallion and covered with an exquisite mushroom sauce--to die for! The tiramisu was fresh and homemade on the premises. Wine selection (primarily Italian) was solid and varied. Service was friendly and impeccable. We were celebrating my husband's 50th birthday and Bellissimo made it a very special occasion. Grazie mille! We will be back :)"

"The food was very good, though the ambiance really dampened the evening. Our table was parked in front of a door, and there is quite a lot of traffic noise from the street. Service was ok--one of the servers was extremely nice and friendly, though he was not OUR server. Ours was polite but never friendly or warm, and I think given how wonderful the other server was, it made ours seem so much less of a server.
Also, very expensive and bland tiramisu, which seems like a sin in an Italian restaurant of this caliber."

"my wife and I went to dinner to celebrate, our wedding anniversary. greeting was luke warm at entrance. the waiter being new at the job, was a bit shy in approach. the table candle was not lit, and the flower vase was taken away in the middle of the dinner. my wife and i both had the veal, mine had the lemon buter sauce , and hers was with pesto sauce. the meal was good, however we felt that the pesto sauce was a bit too much on the plate. The fried calamari with fresh tomato sauce was just right, and their warm dinner bread with olive, garlic was a good way to start. we ended the evening with Tiramisu. creamy and smooth. very good. We were served with comlementary cordials after dinner. we will be back."

"We had a civil service wedding at Bellissimo and it was wonderful. We had 30 guests for a sit-down lunch after saying our wedding vows. They bent over backwards to make our day special from the selection of the menu, our own music, wonderful staff and delicious food. Everyone was so nice and kind and our guests enjoyed themselves and complimented us on choosing such a great place. We selected Belissimo because it is our favorite Italian restaurant in the Metropolitan Area. l"

"We had a lovely meal at Bellissimo. Small group, and all of our dishes were prepared well and delivered warm and timely. It was my second time there, and we'll certainly keep coming back.
So, why 4 stars and not 5? Well, I think the wine list needs some attention. It doesn't need to be a big encyclopedia trophy wine list, but I think a few more choices in Piemonte, Tuscany, and other Italian regions would be a good thing. It just needs a little more depth and breadth to it, IMHO.
Don't get me wrong, I think they're doing good things here, but I also think a few minor improvements and they'd be firing on all cylinders -- at least for _me_."

"We came for dinner after the opera at GMU. The restaurant offers a 15% discount if you have your tickets. I had the roasted red pepper soup with crab meat that was outstanding and my wife had a salad that was also very good. The bread here is fantastic. I had the Gamberi a modo mio, a plate of sauteed shrimp with zuchinni, tomato, garlic, & a delicious sauce. Very good. My wife had a special: veal marsala with vegetables. Our friend had a seafood medley on linguine. We passed on desert but the coffee is quite good. The service was very good; attention paid but not hovering. Our friend lived in Rome for ten years & said this is the best Italian food he's had since he returned."

"Since we live in another state, this was only our second visit which was precipitated by a wonderful first-time experience. Once again, we were not disappointed with food or service. Knowledgeable wait-staff made our decisions easier and we loved our "seasoned" Italian waiter. We remembered him from our first visit and were delighted to experience him again. "The food was outstanding. The bread, salads, main courses and desserts were wonderful! Everything from the service to the wine was exquisite! I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone. It's small but that means you get special attention. Would definitely go again!"

"Reserved table for Valentine's Day Evening at 6 pm. Restaurant is very small...cafe like with tables for two and four huddled together around the room. Regarding the menu...we were surprised that it was limited compared to what you view on their website...No mussels appetizer...more importantly and disappointingly...no beef entry of any kind...No wine list either....The pasta with sausage was good. The linguine capreassi I had was ok. The scallops were bland and the lobster was soggy as if it had been boiled over long. The service was ok. The ambience is nice enough but not spectacular, although with the tables so close together the noise level was certainly energetic."

"The dinner and dessert was wonderful. Next time we'll add appetizers. We avoided them, hoping to save room for dessert, but the portion sizes of everything were small enough (not too small) that we could have easily fit in an appetizer. This is a nice change from most restaurants. The service was charming."

"Real Italians that took great pleasure in describing-accurately- their food and presenting the meals for our enjoyment. The waiters made us feel special. The pasta with various seafood was the hottest meal we have ever eaten in any Italian Restaurant, which made the deliciously prepared meals enjoyable over our extended main course."

"For reasons which had nothing to do with Bellissimo, we’d not been to the restaurant for a long period of time. We were welcomed back as like returning relatives, and had another great meal. If anything, Omar, the chef/owner had used this time to take great dishes and turn them into even better fare.
One of the things Bellissimo sets the standards for, in my opinion, is its veal dishes. The special of the evening, “Veal Sinatra” - tender veal cutlets topped with prosciutto, fresh spinach, cheese and an exquisite cream sauce - was outstanding. As before, their soups are excellent – this evening it was roasted bell pepper bisque with crab meat - and the service was another plus: engaging but not overly intrusive.
