Posto, a modern interpretation of a classic Italian pizzeria, enoteca and trattoria all presented in a “farm chic” open air concept, is a fantastic new addition to Davis Square. Specializing in wood fired Neapolitan Pizza and Italian cuisine. Our menu features handmade pastas, grilled meats and fish, specialty cocktails and a very extensive wine by the glass list that is centered around “Enzo,” our imported Italian wine preservation system. Posto is an elegantly appointed venue with subtle contemporary and rustic sophistication providing a family friendly, approachable dining venue. We support local artists, farmers, and ranchers whenever possible.

"I just got back from Italy and I still love this food! The appetizers, pasta and pizza are wonderful. Very nice wine list. My only wish would be that they would improve the sound quality of the room because it is noisy and hard for conversation."

"Posto delivered! Everything was superb! Freshly made, presentation was excellent, delicious and pleasantly served. We love when our server is attentive but not hovering every 5 seconds so our conversation and tasting is disturbed. We tried pizza and pasta and both were excellent. Only comment would be that my Nonna's meatballs would win that contest, sorry, it is true."

"Somehow, Posto got a great TV review as having a wonderfully hot, unique pizza oven. Unfortunately, the pizza served to us was awful!! The margherita pizza had a soggy, limp crust on top and was burned on the bottom. Having just returned from the region of Italy where pizza was created, we felt that this pizza was an embarrassment. Also, the portion of wine by the glass was miniscule. When we complained about this, the waiter made an excuse that they just got new, larger glasses that give the illusion of a small pour! The meatball appetizer had cold meatballs under hot melted cheese and tasted like they came out of a high school cafeteria. Finally, the noise level is painful. No reason to return here."

"This was our 5th visit to Posto, we've always had an awesome time here. I love their updated menu. With all the options you have in Davis square Posto should be at the top of the list every time. Awesome food, great drinks and reasonable prices."

"The food was very good. And if you plan to order dessert save room or share. We had a problem with our table location and our server gave us options. Once our table was moved my chair was getting bumped much less. I would definitely go to Posto again. Also make reservations because even on a weeknight the place was full!"

"My husband and I love Posto and come here frequently, as it is in our neighborhood. I brought him to dinner on Sunday for a casual birthday dinner, and had a mixed experience. The food, as always, was absolutely fantastic. The pizzas and pastas are to die for! We love the ambience and energetic atmosphere! Service on Sunday was not up to it's usual fabulous standards- it took 20 minutes after ordering our beverages to learn that my husband's beer was not available, and then his cocktail didn't arrive until after the appetizers. As we just were beginning to enjoy the appetizers, our main courses arrived, and we had to ask them to hold onto them while we finished. A frustrating experience, but not the norm at Posto, so we will be back!"

"Appetizers superb and diverse. Pizza light and flavorful. Pasta creative. The wine list is excellent and reasonably affordable. Sun poured into the dining room on an early Sunday evening, creating a welcoming environment. There were young couples, families, and townies. Great service with a smile. A solid Somerville choice."

"This is our 3rd time dinning at Pizzeria Posto. We have loved the food and the service but this time, while the food was outstanding the service was terrible. Our waitress was pleasant but she rarely showed up at our table. It took an extremely long time to get our drinks and to order. It was Mother's Day and we wanted to order desert but while we got the menu, she never came by to get are order. Finally we flagged her down and got our bill.

"First off, the food was great. I started with the calamari and moved to the pepperoni pizza. The bread that came before hand was served piping hot and with a healthy soaking of olive oil. The calamari were delicious and the pizza likewise, though somewhat hard to eat due to the size of the slices. The portions of all the appetizers were very large. As it happened we were all very hungry, but on a different day the calamari could have served as a main course. The noise level was rather high. We practically had to yell to hear each other (party of 4) across the table. The tables are a little closer together than they should be, so as to fit in more customers at a time, but I think the food is worth it. Overall, a very good experience."

"Went on a date here, had some troubles. First of all, they said I didn't have a reservation in their system even though I made on on OpenTable and got a confirmation email. I don't know if that is the restaurant's fault of OpenTable's. Second, they brought my date the wrong pizza. Third, the table we were sitting had the sun beaming directly into her face until it set 10 minutes after -- on it's own this is easily overlooked but it didn't help the situation.
That being said it was nice overall. Food was definitely good and with sizeable portions, setting was nice but not too fancy, service was good otherwise. Not planning to return anytime soon though."

"My son suggested we dine at Pesto. I was pleasantly surprised. The menu is creative yet limited in a positive way. Just about any meat/fish you would want is listed in at least one menu item. Vegetarians are stuck with salads and Pizzas. The restaurant is noisy so don't go there if you are looking for a quiet romantic dinner. The service is outstanding. Our waitress was always there when she should have been ,but was not a pest like wait staff seems to be these days. Parking is tough though so go early. I would imagine this restaurnat is packed on Thursday to Saturday. We went on a sunday night so there were still some tables available. I will return to Pesto"

"This was my third time at this restaurant. My husband loved his burger. My pork milanese was a little dry. The caesar salad was very good. The sun coming in the window blinded my husband for the first twenty minutes of our meal. At this time of year they should rearrange the sheets or put up some type of blind."

"We had an excellent meal, with excellent appetizers and the "Sausage" and "Ramp" pizzas. Try the latter. The dining room is too noisy for my taste, with music playing and normal noise of diners reverberating off the hard floors, walls, and ceilings. Waitstaff was pleasant and efficient."

"This was our first visit to this local restaurant. They had an extensive wine list, and we enjoyed choosing a special wine. The menu was unique with a balance of pizza and entrees. We chose a proscuttio and arugala pizza. When it came, we just sort of looked at one another. The two ingredients were just tossed on top of the white cheese base. It had very little taste, and not enough cheese underneath. The waitress noted when she returned to ask about our meal that we hadn't eaten a lot of it. We told her that it wasn't what we thought. Without asking, she went and shortly thereafter returned with a margharita pizza, a child-sized one. It was wonderful! We were very impressed that she did this for us!! The service was great; we'll be back!"

"We met friends here for drinks and dinner and were not disappointed. We started off with cocktails and olives. Then moved to wine and appetizers. The past with rabbit was spectacular, as was the apple, bacon gorgonzola pizza. The half chicken and pesto past were also great, and the gelatos and cannoli were fabulous - just like the North End. "We've been going to Posto for years and have always had a great experience - excellent food and service. We dined here last night and things have changed ALOT since our last time here in the summer....service was still good, but what happened to the food?! All we could taste is SALT - so much salt on the food that we couldn't get enough water....the pizza is not nearly as good as it used to be - we used to rave about the pizza but now it's just so-so...the glass of wine was more like 2 sips than a real, full glass and for what we ordered, WAY over priced! Seriously bummed out in Somerville..."

"Way too loud to be enjoyable unless you are a college kid who thrives on noise. We showed up with an extra person (college kid who wanted to tag along) and asked if we could squeeze her in -- they said no unless we could come back in 2 hours. The hostess was quite rude about it. But there was plenty of room at the table and the table was isolated, so it wouldn't have inconvenienced the waiter or the neighboring table, and we had said we didn't mind squeezing a bit. Plus we asked for a quiet table and they seated us right next to an open door leading to a party room with a very crowded party inside. The food was good, but we won't be going back."

"The food was quite good, fresh ingredients in interesting combinations. However, there were very few options for people who do not eat meat or who eat only poultry. It was also incredibly loud - so loud that conversation was difficult. For the prices and the difficulty getting a table, I was expecting to be blown away. I was not. Foodies will be attracted by the menu. I wouldn't go there if you expect to enjoy your company."

"The arancini were crisp on the outside with a creamy center and the lemon flavor was just enough. The pork belly was very good with a melt in your mouth texture. The fried calamari was crisp and the squid itself was tender but I thought the overall dish lacked seasoning and was just not as tasty as their other choices. The meatball pizza with whipped ricotta that was ok. The pizza was served steaming hot and had to sit for a few minutes so that the toppings could set up or they would have slid off the crust. The meatball seemed more of an after thought compared to the whipped ricotta. The thin crust had just the right amount of char to compliment the toppings. I may try again selecting different toppings. Drink menu was interesting."

"I have been here before and enjoyed it. This visit was horrific. The sun was directly in all our eyes and none of us could concentrate on each other. There were 4 of us. We spent $200 on dinner. We asked to move. We were told no. I had to get adamant to be moved eventually. Get some shades!Or don't open until sun down!"

"This was our first visit and it was a fantastic experience at Posto! I am beyond impressed with how friendly the staff was. The food was spot on. I called ahead and told a member of their staff that it was a special occasion for both my lady and I. We'd both never been to the restaurant. They went above and beyond. The food was wonderful! The staff was so accommodating which really made for a memorable evening we both won't forget. Looking forward to our next visit."

"We had a marvelous meal here--our third, and definitely the best. The pineapple martini was not cloyingly sweet, the carpaccio was perfectly composed, and the beet salad was marvelous. We really appreciate the availability of half-portions of the pasta. The bolognese has an almost tea-smoked flavor that is delightful and different. The gnocchi themselves were not as light as one might like, but letting go of the description as "gnocchi" they were perfectly tasty and the short-rib sauce was rich and wonderful. We didn't love the crust on the apple tart--too dry--but the cannoli was perfect. The service was cheerful, despite quite a crowd, and we were out in perfect time to make our show."

"Well, I had heard about the wood burning oven imported from Italy and noticed all the great reviews, so I was excited to try this restaurant. I was sorely disappointed. I am Italian-my mother still lives there, and I just returned from a visit. A visit during which I ate many delicious pizzas. The pizza margherita I ordered at il Posto did not impress me. While the ingredients were definitely fresh and of good quality, la pizza itself was overpriced. The crust was puffy and had huge edges. The bottom of the pizza wassoggy because the mozzarella hadn't been squeezed enough to get the liquid out. Service was OK, although I never got offered a refill on my soda. The place was packed and the noise level would raise the dead."

"we've eaten there a bunch. Entrees were fine (carbonara and short rib and gnocchi). I ding the food mainly because of the caesar salad. chopped lettuce and a ton of grated parmesan with three anchovies thrown on top. barely noticeable dressing. I had low expectations for the salad, just wanted some greens. and my martini was watery.
but the entrees were tasty and the rosemary flatbread is always a winner."

"Posto is one of our go-to faves. Unfortunately they have a large and growing following, so it's gotten harder and harder to walk in and dine. I recommend a reservation, esecially with a group. It has an upscale industrial design, which means a lot of echoes and noise, so larger groups have a hard time chatting together. The food is outstanding and the service is stellar."

"Great food although the pizza crust was a bit soggy. But the carbonnara was first rate. Almost as good as the originals in Rome, Florence and Tuscany. Noise levels were off the chart though. So loud mostly because of the hard surfaces with nothing to absorb any of the noise."

"We love Pizzera Posto. I've been several times but this was my husband's first visit. He thinks the Tiramsu is as good as you'd find in Italy. The appetizers, pasta and, of course, pizza are delicious. Ample wine list and discerning mixed drinks. Service is always great.
We will definitely make this a regular spot and recommend it to everyone!"

"I went out to dinner with my girlfriend and another friend I hadn't seen in a while and had an amazing time. Although it was a little loud at points and a bit hard to hear each other near the hustle and bustle of the bar and the open kitchen, I loved my drinks and my meal. They have delicious beers on tap like the Troegs Perpetual IPA as well as interesting cocktails. Our lamb meatball and bruschetta appetizers were light and tasty, the pizzas we got were superb, and the cannolis were out of this world. Plus how can you beat dessert for only $2.50? I'd definitely go back."

"One of the best meals we've had in a while. Lemon arancini was crispy on the outside and creamy inside, and what I considered a large portion. My husband loved the lamb meatballs. A great Pinot Bianco special was recommended to me and was delicious. We got the pizza special with eggplant, red peppers, goat cheese and golden raisins- so delicious! The crust was beautiful with a nice crispness but light and airy when you bit into it. We finished up with a taza chocolate tiramisu, which was, as advertised, big enough for two. It was rich, creamy, smooth, and absolutely wonderful. To add to the experience, our server Jamie was amazing!"

"They have the option to get either an appetizer-sized portion or regular meal for the pastas...I ordered two appetizer-sized portions, and they were both delicious -- one was the special (spring vegetables with cavatelli) and the other was the bolognese. Both delicious. The drink special deliberately paired perfectly with the pasta special. Thoughtful menu, vibrant flavors, and good service."
