"We booked a lunch to celebrate a birthday and Mother's Day and wanted some place special. We knew the Watersedge would have a nice view but we were pleasantly surprised by the food and the professionalism of the staff. a few of us had the prifix lunch and it was a great value. The main restaurant was surprisingly quiet for a Friday afternoon. It looks like a great place for happy hour on he beautiful deck overlooking the city."

"I booked Water's Edge for my daughter's 18th birthday for the water view, despite some negative comments about the food from other Open Table reviewers. We had a very nice dinner - the (expensive) cold seafood appetizer was tasty and visually impressive, and our main courses (scallops, sea bass, and steak) were all very good/excellent, even if the steak was not quite up to prime steakhouse fare. The wine list was extensive and impressive - I found a delightful '95 bordeaux at a fair price for the vintage. I think we were wise not to order surf & turf (subject to complaints by others - I've found most restaurants skimp on the quality for such an entree). Given the location, best for special occasions, as it was for us."

"Restaurant is on the water overlooking NYC so the view was beautiful. Would have been perfect if the windows were clean. The service was very good and the food was plated beautifully and tasted great. We did have a small problem with ants and had to move away from our window seat. Overall we had a nice time."

"I loved the scenery and they were very friendly. The view was what really made the night special because the food was not that great! They do pay attention to the special instructions written when making a reservation and that was great! My boyfriend was surprised at the end of the night with a birthday lava cake which made the night even more special since I had totally forgot that I had written that on the reservation. They also sat us by the window which was amazing over all a nice place but they need to step it up with their food"

"Me and my husband went to waters edge restaurant for our 3 years anniversary. It was so romantic and quiet. The view was Spectacular. The waiters were on point. The food was Delicious. However, I do recommend before going to water edge you eat a little because the portions here are very little. The only con with waters edge, after we paid for our meal and was walking toward our Vehicle the manager ran outside with our bill just to tell us we did not leave a tip. Here's the thing guys, it was our 3rd anniversary, we first went on a hot air ballon ride in jersey, paid over $800.00, and paid for tows. After that we really had no money left. Our bill, for two people, came up to $95. Tips are not mandatory-only if you have it!"

"This was our second dinner at Water's Edge in three months and on both occasions the staff was exceedingly gracious and helpful. The food was excellent, and you cannot beat sitting by the window and taking in the beauty of the river and Manhattan skyline. We also like the fact that you don't have to shout at each other, or listen to others' conversations. The sound level is just right for a romantic evening. We are making it our place for special events."

"This place is beautiful. However, you can't eat the view. And you certainly can't drink it. Which is unfortunate because after taking our orders, we never heard from our waiter again, even though we were hoping to order a second glass of wine! It's not that the waitstaff was rude- not at all! They were just not attentive. One piece of bread, one glass of wine, one water refill and then you're on your own. And for the price, the food was just ok."

"The Service was great and the scenic view was nice. However the main course left much to be desired. We had the surf and turf special for two and the filet mignon was the worst I had ever tasted. Dry and old tasting. Definitely not a prime cut. The lobster tail was not seasoned at all and had a bland ruberry taste to it. Very dissapointed!
The salad, sea scallops and desert were all good. Nothing stellar but good.
Maybe it was because they were running a special for the surf and turf, but regardless i don't feel a restaurant of this caliber should be serving such low quality food."

"Water's Edge is such a beautiful place. We loved the ambiance, the view, the food. But, when we entered the restaurant, no1 was there to greet us or guide us to a table. We had to wait for 4 minutes till someone finally showed up. It wasn't a problem because we were really excited for the beautiful view that the restaurant has of the city. When we sat down, the head-waiter didn't wait for 5 seconds to take my wine order. He disappeared. He was very unprofessional in many ways. The waiters on the other hands were very friendly. I also did not like how they add 20% gratitude to your bill. I wouldn't have given him 20% because he simply doesn't deserve it.

"We were there on wednesday at 830PM and the place was mostly empty except for a loud party of three next to us and a few others. The location at the edge of the Hudson is great with a fantastic view of the Manhattan skyline. The location is a bit hard to find, and one must go past a warehouse type area for a couple of blocks. Returning by taxi in the night is difficult as it may be unsafe (my view) to walk in that area because it is lonely. We had to order a private black limo which cost $37 while the cab to go there from mid town Manhattan cost only $12. I would think that this place will be much better in the summer."

"Horrible food! I was impressed by the ambience but the food in no way matched. The food was not satisfying at all. The service was very rude meaning before we finished our meal the server would take our plates away as to drive us out of the restaurant. How rude! It didn't happen once either; it happened multiple times. I even had to say multiple times that I was not ready for my plate to be taken away. So sad. I had very high expectations"

"My fiancé and I have eaten at Water's Edge numberous times and have always been thrilled with the food and overall experience - until now. When I made the reservation we were excited to have the restaurant week menu, when we were seated we were handed the regular menu and when I asked about the special menu I was informed that it was not available on Saturdays, I feel this is something that should have been shared when making the reservation. I ordered the halibut and he had the lamb chops the portion sizes were smaller than I remember them to be, and even after dessert we left hungry. When we were leaving I also noticed that the restaurant has been downgraded from an A to a B. The beautiful view of the city was breathtaking."
