"Had not been here before, decided to take a chance during Portland dining month. Was not encouraged when we arrived, as room looks like fancied up diner. Was surprised when food arrived though, as it was very well prepared."

"The food is great. Marissa, the executive chef continues to amaze us. Don't miss this place. The Bolognese is not traditional but is out of this world. The Tuscan tomato soup is fantastic."

"Porto Terra is our 'go to' restaurant when we want to dine out downtown. The food is consistently good and the wait staff is friendly and very efficient. We always sing the praises of this restaurant to our friends and family!"

"Porto Terra is an exceptional restaurant. Maybe people shy away from this gem because it's in a hotel (the Hilton Portland Executive Tower) but that is their loss. We went on a Wednesday evening and ours was one of only three tables occupied. We found understated luxury in the dining room, great service from every member of their staff, and, most importantly, great food.
All four courses were delicious and the portions generous.
We know there are a lot of wonderful restaurant choices in Portland but this one needs to be higher on your priority list. It is a standout (and the prices are more than reasonable for an upscale restaurant)."

"This is a great place. The food is wonderful and very consistent. The Bolognese is the best we have ever tasted. The Tuscan Soup is to die for. This is a hide away gem"

"This was a great place for a pre-symphony dinner. The pumpkin ravioli was excellent. They were very accommodating for my friend ahk does not eat cheese. They kept our water glasses full and were very attentive to our needs."

"If you're looking for a quiet weekend lunch, or a civilized sports bar, you can't beat Porto Terra. Experienced servers bring uniformly good food in the bar, but it can be a bit on the pricey side. The tab for a club sandwich, an entree-sized salad, and 2 non-alcoholic drinks was over $30. But the sandwich was perfectly prepared, and the beet salad large enough for 2, so no real complaints. Don't miss the tapenade, which is served with crusty rosemary bread."

"This restaurant just felt like we were sitting in the hotel lobby. The food was pretty good, but nothing really wowed us. We ordered a cup of soup that never came and it felt like our server was afraid to speak loud enough so we could hear her (note: we are a couple in or early 30s and our hearing is very good). Overall, it was just kind of an ok experience and, for the price, we probably would not go back."

"My friend and I recently had lunch at Porto Terra. We both ordered the scallops with apple celery root risotto and were less than impressed. There were 4 scallops which appeared to be 2 scallops that had been butterflied. The risotto was very bland with minimal hint of either apple or celery root. This was topped with a dollop of arugula and 3 grapefruit segments for $18. I also had an inexpensive 14 Hands Cabernet for $11 a glass. The only thing that made this palatable was a 50% off voucher"

"We went on a night that a group of 25 or so were having a meeting in the bar area rather than a conference room (they were staying at the hotel). Their noise extended to the dining area and was disturbing to us."

"Porto Terra never disappoints, and that is why we keep coming back. The Bologonese is so good I have it almost every time. Several of our group love fish so the trout was a happy choice. The cocktails were particularly good Friday evening. I always reccommend this restaurant whenever I can because I know any visitor will be completely satisfied!"

"The staff was very friendly and helpful. Our order was wrong, and took way longer than it should have to be brought out. For the expensive prices I wasnt impressed."

"Went there for Valentines day and they had a complete meltdown. It seemed as they were not used to having that many people in there and the staff simply could not keep up, and kept getting confused about who was getting what and when and in what order."
