"One of the things I most appreciated was the variety of beef available, especially the grass-fed. I rarely eat beef and when I do it's grass-fed. All of the salads and vegetables were excellent -- there were four of us so we were able to sample most of the options. Everything was tasty and well-prepared. The steaks were prepared as ordered and I think we ate everything on our plates. The sides are all very large so we shared. The desserts were also excellent and not the same-old, same-old tired cliches that so many restaurants rely on,"

"Prime 1000 is our new favorite steak house when dining in downtown St. Louis. The food is superb, classic but creative and everything you would want in a meal with many choices to satisfy everyone from the steak lover to the vegetarian. We had a party of 9 for my son's college graduation and each and every person was truly pleased with his or her meal! With so many chains this is an unexpectedly unique alternative and highly recommended!"

"We made our reservation though Open Table and mentioned on the "comment" section that we were celebrating a college graduation. What I loved upon arrival is that the staff mentioned why we were celebrating... the graduation! Then our waitress asked who at our table was graduating and then they offered us two free appetizers. It was just another special element to a great family evening. Thank you Prime 1000 for the wonderful night - great food, wonderful service and special attention to detail!"

"We went to Prime 1000 to celebrate a birthday. When you go to an expensive steak house, most charge for your meat and everything else is an add on. Everything I read about Prime 1000 was that a side is included in your steak price. I don't know if they recently changed that policy, but we were very surprised to see that everything was a la carte. When you spend this much money on a dinner, you expect the food to be outstanding. This food was just OK. It seems like the kitchen really likes to utilize their broiler, as almost everything had a char on it. From the biscuits, to the brussle sprouts, to the garlic clove on top of your steak, they all had burnt bits. Every server was in jeans, which annoyed me for some reason. Not good."

"Staff was personable, I thought slow and understaffed. Crowd was sparse yet it almost 90 min from seating to eating. My biggest problem was I went here to experience dry aged beef but turns out they don't do dry aged anymore however prices don't really reflect that. Had prime 20 oz bone in rib, wife had prime filet no complaints other than for the price they weren't particularly distinguished from other prime steaks at other fine steak houses. So my quest for superior steak will probably not lead me back to Prime1000."

"Went on a Tuesday night so downtown St. Louis is pretty quiet and so was the restaurant but the good was good. I had the organic pork chop and it was excellent. We ate in the bar area just so we could watch something on television and a little more vibrant. Carrot cake for dessert was no good, go with the cheesecake."

"I was very excited to take my date to Prime 1000. Then, when we were seated, it took a long time for our waiter (Eddie) to take our drink order. Eddie had WAY TOO MANY tables to wait on that evening. He was not very socialable and did not seem interested in us. Another server came over and recited the specials to us since Eddie was so busy. The dinner was not very good. My date makes better corn cakes and the Bone-in Ribeye was less than good. It was under done and very grissly. Neither during dinner nor after our entree were we offered another drink. We were brought our ticket and that was it. Very very unsatisfying experience. For the money I spent, I should have been treated better and the food should have been MUCH better!"

"I like a Gibson cocktail, and it's the cocktail onions that make it a "Gibson", not a vodka martini. It seems many bars don't stock cocktail onions, so I always ask, as I did at Prime 1000. Our server said he thought so, I ordered the Gibson, but an IPA as a second chioce if there wern't any onions. After 5 minutes the server delivered the Gibson, and apologized it "took so long". They were out of onions, so he went down the block to Cigar Bar to borrow some from them. How awesome. The food was also an 11 on a scale of 1-10!"

The service was very good with just a few quirks. My husband ordered a glass of wine with dinner but was given a double pour without being told until we got the check. The baked potatoes were not very good and one of the steaks that was asked to be cooked medium/well was definitely medium. Also it was my son's birthday and they brought out 2 desserts with candles which was nice but didn't ask what dessert he would have wanted. These are not major flaws in my opinion except when you are paying a premium price to dine here. We had an enjoyable time."

"This was our first time eating at Prime. The list of items on the menu all looked good but the prices were very high. We had steak and two side dishes. the grits were great the macaraoni and cheese had a sweetness to it that we did not care for. The steak was wonderful and the au poivre sauce was good. The highlights of the meal were the steak and the spinach salad. Probaby would not come back due to how expensive the items were. There are a number of other great restaurants aroound St Louis that offer as good of food, or better food for a lesser expense. I will say the restaurant ambiance was quite good and the interior was very attractive. The service was also quite good. Just too expensive."

"We've been to Prime 1000 a handful of times the past couple of years and have always liked it. It had been about a year since we'd last gone and we were both disappointed to learn sides are no longer included in the price of the steak selection. We specifically sought out Prime 1000 years ago after learning they offer local, grass-fed beef, and for this reason we have continued to choose Prime 1000 when we opt for a nice, steak dinner. With the location of the restaurant and the quality of the beef, one would expect to pay high prices, so it was always nice to have a side included with the steak selection. It would be nice to go back to the way it was considering a dinner here for us is already close to $200."

"The Amish chicken was spicy and delicious. It came with potato pancakes that were also great. My wife ordered the pork chop which was also prepared perfectly. The sides were unusual, creative, & tasty. We ate their homemade apple crisp which came right from the oven. Their 'special' price can save you money, beware, the amount of food is generous. We loved the atmosphere and service! I will recommend Prime 1000 to all my friends."

"I was on the fence when I made this reservation because I hadn't heard much about it. Additionally, then I heard they were no longer using their dry aging room, but now they were wet aging them.
To say the least I was not very optimistic, but low and behold this restaurant came through shining. Our waiter was fantastic our appetizers, salads, main courses and sides were all amazing, not to mention the place is just fun. Perfect location and amazing food. Highly recommend to anyone who enjoys food. Great Steaks!"

"The whole experience was fantastic. The waiter, I think it was Ed, was very well prepared. He explained all the options and availability and made the experience so much more relaxing. Being someone that doesn't eat at higher end restaurants too often, it was nice to have someone so knowledgeable.

"Food was delicious. They are noted for their steaks, which are a bit expensive but said to be excellent. We had the spinach salad, pork chop, the Amish chicken, all of which were delicious and professionally prepared with the latest cooking techniques and fresh ingredients. The wine and beer list was extensive, and the waiter was friendly and helpful. Very nice dinner out in a casual setting with up-to-date decor. The bar is bright and fun, and it was just getting busy when we were leaving the restaurant around 9:30 pm on a Friday. We will definitely dine there again."

"Prime 1000 located at 1000 Washington Avenue is more modern take on the classic steakhouse. Prime 1000, as the other part of the name suggests, serves aged on-site Prime steaks along with options for grass-fed beef and Bison. They have a good selection of salads and side dishes. Some sides are always on the menu while a few are available for a short time to keep the menu fresh.
The food and drinks are excellent as is the service and ambiance."

"I initially walked passed Prime1000 with my wife and said to myself that I have to bring her here…and I did which we incorporated some of our close friends and us all had a fantastic time and the service personnel were great! "Joe was a great server. He touched the table just enough to be present but not enough to feel rushed. He was very patient as I tried three different wines so I appreciated that. The G.M. was preset on the floor and even came over to talk with us. Everyone seemed to be working together as a team. Good atmosphere, great steak."

"The service was exactly what you would expect it to be but the steak was overly salty and seasoned, over-cooked, and was itsy bitsy in comparison to other steak houses in the area. I probably wouldnt return for anything other than cocktails. The meal definitely was not woth $160.00."
