"I had dinner at Treva as a first date reunion of sorts I was very inpressed all around the food was excelent as was the service everything was prepared properly without any complaints from myself or my guest the only thing I did not like is the tables were sxratched and worn this may n ofbeen a rustic look the restaurant was looking for but there aare better ways to acvhieve this the server was friemdly amd knowledable although they didn't offer cracked pepper mill"

"Food was very good and proportioned well. Wait staff was very friendly and fairly attentive. We were even seated early with a comment from the staff that they would rather see us seated early (half of our party wasn't there yet) and comfortably at "our" table than sitting/standing at the front door. Nice touch.
The only concern is the noise level. If you intend to have a quiet conversation with your dining party, that just is not going to happen. But if you are use to a loud bar-scene atmosphere, then this restaurant won't bother you in the least."

"Being my first time to Treva, I found the selection of food to be exceptional. My main dish was prepared so well that there was no reason to ask for a container."

"Treva never disappoints - the food was excellent. The staff was wonderfully accommodating -two of us shared dishes. One was easily split in the kitchen; the other was done for us tableside which just aded that touch of class. A nice wine list to complement our meal. And it is always great to see the owner who still meks the time to stop by to say hello. Introduced a friend who said they will definitely come back."

"If you go make a reservation for the bar side. The main dining room was way too noisy, especially if you are near a group table. Two the the three meals appeared exceptional and mine too exotic, although that was not the waiter's fault. If you can put up with the noise level the restaurant is worth trying."

"My guest and I had a wonderful outdoor table, great food and excellent service. We started off with wine, shared a beet salad and each ordered fish specialties. My guest had deliciously plump and perfectly seared sea scallops and I chose their "Bronzino" fish which is a version of a sea bass, grilled to perfection with lemon oil and seasoning, cleaned of all bones and served with potatoes and spinach. Simply perfect!"

"I met an old friend for lunch -- Treva was a midway point for us. We spent almost 3.5 hours at the table, enjoying the delicious food and catching up with each other. The setting, service, and food were wonderful, and obviously, we were not rushed! We will be back!"

"So far I have been here for happy hour (4-6, seven days a week), which is a wonderful deal (good wine by the glass selection and great small plates for about $5) and now lunch al fresco. The food was excellent although the service seemed slow (it took a good half hour for our entree salads to be served, meanwhile tables nearby who arrived after we did were already finished eating). The salads were excellent and so were our desserts (ricotta cheesecake and a coffee panna cotta). Looking forward to going back for dinner if we can get a reservation - it is a super popular place!"

"The food, service and atmosphere were all great. It was comfortable and casual , welcoming. I like the fact the busy bar is separated from the restuarant. How fleshing not be distracted by tv screens while eating. I enjoyed the rabbit with lentils and sour blueberries . My wife got a pasta and shrimps dish that was excellent . The pasta was above average and rather than being a foil for the other ingredients stood as important part of the dish."

"The luncheon menu was very affordable, and I saw on the menu some very appealing dishes that were not much more money than what I would spend on an ordinary sandwich at a local luncheonette. The lamb chop that I ordered (and it was quite the hefty lamb chop) was cooked to perfection."

"My wife and I have been to Treva for dinner numerous times and recently for lunch. It's a fantastic restaurant in West Hartford and one of the best food deals in Connecticut. The food could hang with Italian restaurants at twice the cost."

"Thanks to Groupon, we were introduced to this northern Italian restaurant during a recent lunch. We were given a choice of being seated in the front or in the back. We chose the latter and I noticed on good size deck in the back which would be perfect on a warm spring day. We were brought menus and some warm crusty bread along with olive oil – delicious. I ordered an arugula salad and our waiter immediately asked if we wanted to share. It was good that he did because the portion size was perfect. Lightly dressed and topped with shaved Parmesan – simple perfection.
My wife ordered the tagliatelle with mushrooms, asparagus and very tender veal. I requested the Pettine – lightly seared scallops, wild mushrooms, shaved asparagus and the"

"The food here is as good as anyplace you will find in NYC or any other major city with great restaurants. And it is clear that the owner chef takes great pride and interest in his restaurant, patrons and menu. It's refreshing to see. Our only complaint is the noise level. On the night we were there we unfortunately had a very loud patron a few tables over. He was so loud that the owner actually apologized. I have been here a few times and my conclusion is table choice is key. I'm also looking forward to nicer weather so that we can use treva's outdoor patios."

"Unique menu--special twists on lesser known dishes. Fabulously fresh pasta, crisp vegetables, well-balanced sauces. Place could use some touch up paint and a vacuum. Our server was knowledgeable and paced our meal perfectly."

"We had been to Treva for dinner and loved it. Brunch, however, was not nearly as satisfying. We were presented with a small brunch menu - none of the options were appealing, so we asked if we could order from the lunch menu. We were told we could only order from the brunch or DINNER menu, even though it was noon.
Our waiter was friendly, but did not tell us about the specials (we heard him telling other tables, so maybe he just forgot?). I asked for no mushrooms in my dish, which the waiter said was no problem, but my meal came with mushrooms.
The food was not all that impressive, especially the eggs Benedict, which was served on a stale english muffin, with what seemed like deli ham, and a tiny dab of flavorless sauce - very disapp"

"I have been to numerous restaurants in Blue Back and Treva is very close to the top of the list. Taste, presentation, portion size, and service was great. I will be the first to admit that I tend to be (very) particular when it comes to trying a new place and I was impressed. Try it out, you won't be disappointed."

"We enjoyed our trip to Treva. Friendly hostess. Tables are very close together. We were seated near 4 women in vibrant conversation...awkward. I don't know if in the bar area there might be more space. The service was the best part. Extremely friendly and competent from the get-go. Free bread and olive oil was delicious. Salad was fine but menu options for vegetarians or health-conscious limited. Not much here if you're not a big meat eater and near nothing if vegan. Flatbread looked awesome but we didn't try. Daily special (linguini with mushrooms, etc.) was bit bland. Creme brulee great. Wish they'd leave the veal off the menu. If you like vibrant setting, don't mind close quarters and are not vegetarian, go for it."

"Always enjoy Treva. We had an Easter lunch and all the food was very good. I did think the charcuterie and cheese to start (the one that is 6 seletions for $24 is a little skimpy in portion size."

"Great food and atmosphere as always, but service was mediocre on this visit. Took 50 minutes to get our meal for 4 people on a Tuesday night at 8pm...Seemed excessive. Waiter was polite but never really acknowledged the wait even after several tables who had sat later got served first. Overall good experience, just would expect better service in future."
