The restaurant is conveniently located in the heart of downtown Portland on 11th avenue between Yamhill and Taylor. We are open for lunch, happy hour, and dinner Monday through Saturday. We invite you to join us for the East India experience.

"I went to East India with my son for a meal. After living in London we are used to having Indian food. We thought we had eaten good Indian food before, but this was well above and beyond the food we had eaten before. The food was delicious and the presentation was outstanding.
The look of the place from the street does not prepare you for the beauty of the back of the restaurant. Staff were helpful, kind and not intrusive.
I will definitely go back for a great dining experience again."

"Some of the best Indian Food in Portland! Great for "family style" couples dining or just an intimate dinner for two. Reservations are recommened as it is very popular. The food is made to order so don't expect a quick dinner; just sit back and enjoy yourself."

"I love Indian food. There are many Indian restaurants in Portland that are o.k. But East India Company is a step above--truly spot-on beautifully prepared food with the freshest ingredients and spices. The service is efficient but don't plan on having your food in 10 minutes---it may take about 20-25 minutes to get your entree, so order a few appetizers while you wait. This is a hidden gem in Portland, and I will be going more often now I've been reminded how terrific it is."

"We were a little worried about the service because of previous reviews, but we had no problems at all! The food was excellent, and the service was perfect, and our water glasses never went dry. The location is very nice as well, we walked to a show at the Schnitzer with no trouble."

"I've been here before and had a great experience. Their food is exceptional and the staff was very attentive and helpful as far as informative. However this past time, it took our serve at least 10 minutes after we were seated to attend to us to see if we wanted anything to drink or had questions. She checked on us once during the meal. Although the other staff was great. They were always taking away plates and filling our drinks on a regular basis. Overall, great restaurant, just turned off by the staff this past time."

"I have never had a problem with reservations through Open Table before coming here. When we arrived they made it out like they did not have me in the system. Problem is I over heard her say to another worker that they gave our table away. Food was good but if I'm going to spend about 20 to 25 a person I expect better. I will not go back myself but I would also understand why other would."

"East India Co. is one of my top choices when asked to choose a spot for lunch. The lunch special is excellent - especially the fish curry - spicy & flavorful. The service is top notch and the ambience is lovely. I keep meaning to make it in for dinner, but haven't had the opportunity. The happy hour menu looks great, too."

"18 Expat Brits & Irish 17 of us thought the food excellent, everyone enjoyed themselves! It was a shame that Renee the server was overworked she should have had more help so consequently service was slow, however, we all had a marvelous time & we will return for another feast soon :)

"Amazing food with intricately woven flavors. From the hostess to the chef they were so warm and friendly. Our water glasses were never empty, and the owner even stopped by to say hello and check on us. I was impressed. We will definitely be back. The only thing I would improve on is the wine list. "Both of the dishes we had were excellent. This place has real fire in their spicy food, which I appreciate. Everyone was very friendly although we were never asked if everything was all right until we were finished eating. (everything was great)
