"I had the pork chop even though I prefer my meat rare. It was juice and tender, good. There was a puddle of water under the Pork chop that mixed in with the mashed potatoes, not good. The chutney was rich and excellent. my husband had the pork tenderloin and pasta and I quite envied him. Desert was creme brule perfect. We left very full and satisfied. Our server was very attentive, pleasant, couldn't ask for more. Thank You for a great experience!"

"As usual we enjoyed our meal at 21 Steps. Whenever we come to Whistler it is on our dine out list. Tried a couple of old time favourites (scallops) and tried a couple of new things (Queso Fundido, vegetarian curry stir fry) and really enjoyed both of them."

"Great food, but not great service. "Unenthusiastic" is a good way to describe our server. Good menu, everyone in our group enjoyed their meals. The pork tenderloin pasta dish is excellent."

"We are foodies and love to try different type of food anywhere we travel. We wanted to try this restaurant because of the rave reviews it received in Yelp. If you're looking for comfort food, then great, but the food here was ok. Service was terrible! The waiter seemed disinterested or not well trained. I took several blatant hints to the waiter that we needed more water, on top of how long it took for me to get my wine. Additionally, he was not trained well enough to let us know from the beginning that there were certain items on the menu that were not available. He waited we ordered the food, which was 15-20 mins after our initial sitting before he tell us the food is not available. The price was reasonable, but not worth my time."

"Large but not overwhelming dinner menu and drink list. Friendly staff that didn't rush us out, but was attentive while when we needed them to be. The food was very good but nothing extraordinary. I would definitely return to this cozy hideout with a lovely view."

"I have eaten here many times and its always fantastic. On this occasion, we were celebrting my mum's 60th birthday and it didn't diappoint. Food was excellent, service friendly and very helpful. They gave my mum a special birthday dessert as they had seen as giving presents and taken an interest. This is by far the best place to eat in Whistler at a very reasonable price and friendly relxed atmosphere. I always reccommend to anyone looking for a dinner reservation."

"Ordered very 'ordinary' food, fish and chicken dishes, and we were very impressed by the taste and presentation of the food so very good service from the kitchen. The chicken and fish were on a good portion of risotto rice that was delicious as it soaked up the nice rather buttery juices from the dishes. Only (minor) gripe is that the vegetable serving was a bit stingy with just around four green beans and one asparagus spear each. Dessert, chose blueberry crumble and this tasted good but was slightly blueberry heavy and crumble-short. Ice cream that came with it was average.
Service outstanding. Despite being a busy full house, we were given what we wanted straight away and drinks were replenished quickly. Excellent."

"We loved our meal here. The service was good (as it was throughout Vancouver and Whistler.) We had a wide selection of large and small plates from the menu and none of them disappointed. We enjoyed every selection. I would definitely make reservations during ski season and would highly recommend this restaurant to others."

"We made a last minute reservation on line through Open Table and found it to be fast and easy to use. The food and service were both exceptional. Although the restaurant was busy, the noise level was low and made for a very pleasing dining experience. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Whistler."

"We enjoyed the ambience of the restaurant with its attractive decor and circular tables. Service was helpfull, attentive and efficient with our waitress happy to explain the various dishes and meat cuts. She was also knowledgable about the wine list and happy to make suggestions. The prawns were delicious and the bison steak is to be recommended. Overall our group of 6 adults enjoyed the dinner. Our only comment would be that the vegetables that accompanied the main dish were on the cold side, as were the plates."

"This is our second meal at 21 Steps and it was as good or better than the first. The service was extremely good and our meals arrived almost instantly after we ordered them. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable and patient. we would defintitely recommend 21 Steps to anyone wanting a high quality meal at Whistler Village."

"Excellent food, everytime we make a trip to whistler we make sure we eat here. The food seems to get better everytime, highly recommended for out of all the high priced restaurants in whistler, this is one of the most fairly priced and the best food."

"We tried 21 steps because the menu was varied which worked well for our group. Also the price was more moderate than other restaurants in the area. Food was quite good - I had scallops and prawns. The scallops were excellent, but prawns too salty. Our waitress made a couple of errors (ordered the wrong pasta for one of us, forgot to bring 2nd beer), but was very appologetic and gave us a discount on the pasta price. The replacement pasta came very quickly. All-in-all a very pleasant dinner in a nice room."

"great place but don't go there for the wine. The food is great but they have not invested in wine list to compliment the food. You have to either buy local BC wines (good but definitely not great - give me choices!) or overpay for average California/world wines that you can get at Costco or Safeway. It's not about the price but the lack of effort they put into their wine list. I get it.. you have a captive audience but that should not stop your passion to invest in great wines."

"service was very quick. there was no pressure to eat quick, but some might appreciate a bit more time to linger over pre-dinner drinks say. waiter, a young lad, was very attentive, very efficient, and very unobtrusive - i didnt catch his name and he didnt hang around engaging in conversation, which again may be a very good thing. my dinner was very good. ordered the steak Chicago rare and the durrn thing came - Chicago rare. something tat doesn't always happen. id say very well done, but some might miss the irony. the steak was rare. my wife had a salad which was very good, but not remarkable. all in all a very good meal. reservation will get you a window seat."

"21 steps is a local favourite, it's location is one of the best within the village, it's in a central location and occupies the second and third floor of the building giving it a beautiful view over the upper busy village stroll. The food is great for the price range, a good place to eat if you don't want to spend 300 to 400 on a dinner in whistler!"

"We were underwhelmed by our appetizer (lamb sausage) but both of our dishes were very yummy. We had a seafood and red-meat dish. The waitress was well-informed on the menu and could make recommendations. This place is fun and a great place to eat in Whistler Village. The host was a bit rude and I heard him talking to customers about other customers- but we got seated and approched by waitstaff right away."

"Had been recommended this Restaurant by a number of people - good for comfort food apparently.
Really wanted to like this place - staff very friendly - reasonable prices, decor a tad functional - decent size menu.
However we found it wildly disappointing - wasn't that the food was bad - just not very good. And if a restaurant wants to you come back it has to be better than you can make at home - and this isn't.
Not bad - just not good - sums it up. Shame"

"Very disappointed with the service and meat cooking. Ordered rack of lamb - medium rare, but it was done just to rare. Waitress took it back to the kitchen and in 5 minutes she brought it back asking if I'm satisfied with it now. THEY DIDN'T DO ANYTHING TO IT AT ALL - IT WAS UNCOOKED AS BEFORE AND ALREADY BARELY WARM! When pointed to this waitress said sorry and disappeared, another one brought the bill. I was with my family and their food was fine, but this service had ruined whole experience and evening."

"Hidden in plain site in the center of Whistler. Good food, on the second floor with lots of windows gives a new perspective of the crowds below. Interesting, well prepared dishes. Only complaint was that I was initially given the wrong entree which was corrected quickly, but still a bit odd... Definitely plan to go back on our next yearly ski trip."

"This was a very close second for our favorite meal in Whistler. We loved the selection between the small plates and large ones. Good wine selection, the chili garlic prawns were ridiculously good, and the overall experience was super chill. If you're looking for a nice meal in the village that wont break the bank, this is a great choice."

"This was our 2nd visit to 21 steps and the food and service was outstanding and prices are reasonable by Whistler standards. We had a reservation with spacivic table request which was honoured. We will be back for a 3rd and maybe 4th time during our 2 week stay at Whistler. W, K and JP."

"Such a special spot in Whistler's ski resort village. We took our 21 steps up to heaven with this culinary experience. Our server, Leah, was terrific and she guided us through a wonderful meal. Sophisticated atmosphere with an equally sophisticated menu though still keeping its cozy appeal. It was a perfect way to spend our last night in this wonderful town."
