"The bartender was great she was very freindly but when we got our table the food was just okay. I wouldn't recommend the restaurant for just okay food. There are to many restaurants around that are better. Pretty hefty prices for the quality. We sat very close to other tables and the two tables by us were disappointed too. We all said we don't mind paying because we all are somehat foodies but this restaurant is no way for foodies. Destination of Topsail wasn't much either."

"Had a wonderful Ahi Tuna with mango & apple chutney. My meal was excellent. Would need to save this restaurant for special occasion though because it was very pricey for my budget. (Meal + dessert+ tax+ tip was $46.00 for one person). But was worth it."

"Our Whiskey Burger was so big that my husband and I split it. The homemade chiips were delicious as always and two of us could not finish them all. Our son ordered the Greek Burger and Burbon but all of us enjoyed the tasting. We had to wait a bit for our 7:00 reservation but there was a pleasant place to sit so we enjoyed the time with family. In fact this has become our favorite restaurant on Topsail Island."

"I love fried seafood and there is lots of it in Surf City. Bistro is not that place. Nicely decorated, professional staff and great food. I had the Cinco de Mayo special, a trio of beef, tuna and shrimp. It was very good. SO had oysters. I also had a trio of tequila shots that erased the bad taste I always remembered with cheap tequila. This was very good. All in all a great experience. The only thing I would recommend is that the homemade chips be crisped before serving. Seems that they are precooked and limp."

"Despite being sent to the bar when we arrived at our reservation time when tables appeared available, and the warm soup, we enjoyed our dinner. Three of our party of four ordeed a variety of appitizers which came in large portions, and the caesar salad with oysters was excellent."

"We had a reservation and had to wait 15 mins. to be seated even though there were 4 tables empty, 2 of which stayed empty for the next hour, and 5 staff members standing around. We ordered the recommended scallops, grit cakes, and collards. the collards had a nice flavor but were far too salty to eat more than 3 bites. The grits were tasty. The 4 medium size scallops were sauteed nicely, however, they were extremely salty. One would think that at a cost of $27 there might be a larger serving of scallops. We told the waitress about the over salted items and her response was , "I'm sorry." We are locals and have enjoyed dining here many times always enjoyed our meals. We will hesitate before we return again."

"The only things I can say on the downside of the place are, wishing you had more vegetarian meals. Service was pretty slow, but our server was great and really friendly! The food was great! And this is t a place for a quite dinner it is a very small restaurant so it was very load. Over all the staff were all very friendly and the food was great! Ease bring your tofu and grits back! I was so excited to try it..."

"Cannot say enough about our dining experience at The Bistro. I wish we had not waited so long to come here! I could have had a million more wonderful dining experiences. Our server was great. She knew the menu as well as the wines and beers that were offered. Everyone in my group had a wonderful dinner. This is the best place to eat on Topsail Island! It is worth every penny, and I would advise you to make a reservation. I cannot wait to return."

"Enjoyed the food and the ambiance. The bar would be my ideal place to sit on a quieter evening- the wonderful bartender is friendly and really makes you feel welcome and it's obvious she enjoys what she does. Making a reservation on a weekend night was imperative and I'm so glad I did!"

"This restaurant is fantastic! This is our third or fourth time there and we have never been disappointed! The food choices are varied - seafood, chicken, pork, beef - and uniquely prepared. The hostess, wait staff and bartender were all friendly and accommodating. A very enjoyable experience!! Make sure to make a reservation, especially on Friday and Saturday because they get booked quickly."

"I've dined at the Bistro before and the food has been good. The prices are on the high side, so it stands to reason that it's important that the food always be good. In my recent visit, my ahi tuna sandwich was brought to the table luke-warm. I asked the server to alert the kitchen, just so that they would know. My husband had the chicken breast, and his dish was quite good and hot. (I had a sampling.)"

"With the nearby beach scene, this Resturant has grown as an alternative to the tourist choice of fried sub-standard fare. We have been going here for close to 5 years and keep going back for the great food, superb wines and stunning desserts.
