"This was the first time visiting Mr.B's.... both of us ordered the seafood trio, the salmon and shrimp overcooked, and the scallops under cooked and lacking in flavor. Salads were great and so was the bread. Service was good. The tables are too close together.... I was glad to see they are moving locations. Hopefully their next location will be more open."

"Food was great, service very good. We seemed to have had a table for two that was split from a table meant for 4. We didn't have a candle, salt/pepper shakers/special menu ad, etc. on our table. I didn't notice until I wanted the salt shaker and then there was none on our table while all other tables in the room had the above mentioned items. I might have also ordered from the special menu had it been on our table but I didn't see it so I had to order from the main menu."

"The food was great as usual as I have been there 2 times before. One of my guests was about 1/2 hour late and the hostess came to our table to inform me that that we needed to order because they needed the table in 1 and 1/2 hours. That was just plain rude."

"For an appetizer, the bruschetta was very aromatic and delicious. Our steaks (filet and NY Strip) were cook perfectly, and were very flavorful and juicy. Dessert was a warm, berry-filled creation, and also delicious. The only thing that would have been an improvement would be to have a nice, big portabella mushroom grilled and served with the steak. Overall excellent, and a great place to look forward to 2 or 3 times per year."

"Mr B's is known for it's red meat and they don't disapoint. Your meat is cooked to perfection and extremely delicous. The Special was a veal chop that was out of this world. My only criticism is their ala carte pricing. But that is a small issue. Definitely a great place to go for a nice meal."

"The food was really delightful and the wait staff attentive and friendly. The tables were very cramped though, so privacy was on the low side. My only real complaint is more of a disappointment-which is that the waiter decided which leftovers to pack for my partner and I when they were all obviously arranged as wanted food on our plates."

"Three strikes and you're out! We used to love Mr. B's but in the last year or two we have eaten there and we left disappointed each time. Our latest visit, I had the steak and King crab. The Crab was luke warm, the steak was over cooked and tasted like it had tenderizer on it. It was inedible. While we have loved it in the past, this last visit will be our last. We can give the restaurant the benefit of the doubt a time or two, this third visit confirmed that the quality has not been there for some time. With so many restaurants to choose from, we will look elsewhere for a great meal."

"Yes, I had high expectations, and for the most part they were met, particularly with the quality of the food, the wine selection, etc. But here are a few things to think about: (1) The hostesses were young high-schoolish looking girls, with a chip on their shoulders, no grace, no eye contact, etc. (2) The portions were ungodly large. Is it terribly necessary to serve the biggest potato in Idaho? (2) A "side dish" could have been smaller, and included in the main dish rather than crowding a small table. 3) There was HARDLY any time between appetizers and main course. I felt pushed out. (4) The waiter asked my guest if she was done, and asked to take her plate BEFORE I was done. Unacceptable! Eventually he prevailed."

"Note to self: If you think you can go out on Valentine's Day and enjoy a leisurely dinner, think again. This night was all about table turnover and I felt rushed the whole time I was there. Our entrees were up long before I finished my salad and had to be held (at our request). My salmon was lukewarm by the time it was served. I won't let this one evening tarnish my opinion of the Bartolotta restaurants. We've never had anything but exceptional food, service and atmosphere. I'll just stay home on Valentine's Day from now on."

"This was our first visit Mr. B's restaurant and we had so looked forward to this, but we were a bit disappointed. The size of our steaks in comparison to the selection we were shown by our server were quite a bit smaller. The steak was flavorful, but very chewy, not as melt-in-your mouth tender as we had heard they would be. The baked potato was excellent as were the drinks and bread. I can't believe for the price of the steaks that you wouldn't receive a salad with your meal and was shocked to see that a salad was almost another $9! We received a gift card to visit, but would probably not return because of the quality of the steaks. We've had much better at Outback Steakhouse and Champs for a lot less money."

"If we did not have a gift certificate for this restaraunt we would not have gone there again. The tables are TOO close together, the wait staff kept bumping into me, the noise was so loud that my wife & I could not hear each other and the food was less than spectacluar. We have been to this place on four occasions now & each time we have gone, the food and atmosphere have gotten worse. I will not be going back."

"We found the food to be average at best and not on a par with a fine steak house. After 3 out of the 4 of us ordered the Prix fixe menu, the server lost interest in our table. The 6 oz filet was overdone and the potatoes were over rosemaried and had obviously sat under a heat lamp or frying pan too long. The ceasar salad was mediocre. The gelato was good. One of our companions ordered the Bison and said it was good - no raves from him, however. Overall a disappointing evening with a $280 bill for 4."

"As you can see by the rating, our dining experience was not all we hoped it would be when we decided to try Mr. B's. The ribeye steak I ordered (medium rare) was filled with grizzle and on the edges very well done. The noise level was so loud in the dining room that my husband and I could not hear each other. The service was excellent, but my garlic rosemary potatoes was so overwhelmed with rosemary that we found them very unappealling. Overall a disappointing visit."

"We thoroughly enjoy the food at Mr. B's. The steaks are fantastic. The only complaint I have about this visit is that we didn't receive our complete order, but we were so anxious to dive into the steaks that we didn't notice until our meal was complete! No worries though...we weren't charged for what we weren't served."

"Poor. That is all I can say. The food was sub-par and the prices were premium. It seems to get worse each time I go there. The steaks are dry and tasteless. The appetizers were small and tasteless. The table was cramped. I was slammed up against a wall with very little room to cut the tough steak. My wife ordered a medium sized steak, they delivered a petite and insisted it was the same size as my medium steak. My wife I and 2 friends shared a table and the bill came to $300. No one ever offered to refill our water, offer us more drinks or see how we were doing. Very mechanical host staff. I have attended this place the past 5 years and it gets worse each time. This was our last. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY HERE!!!!!"

"I loved the feel of this restaurant. The smells, the decor, the set up all make it comfortable--like home. The service was amazing--attentive, not bothersome. We never had to ask for anything. We all shared the oysters on the half shell, calamari and the crab cakes (which were the best I've ever had). All the seafood was fresh and cooked (or served) perfectly. Two of us at the table had the bone in filet which was so flavorful, it didn't need one of the many sauces you get to choose from. For your potato choice, I recommend the roasted rosemary potatoes--they had so much flavor! And for dessert, try the berry cobbler. It was amazing! Their wine list isn't lacking, either. They have something for all price ranges and tastes."

"Great wine list, even for a lightweight like me, whose husband is the designated driver and I'm left to myself to finish a bottle of wine off. Nice to get a wonderful half bottle of wine, just enough so I don't have to waste any. Hands down, the best fried calamari I've had throughout the US bar none! (I suspect that the sister Ristorante Bartolotta's uses the same kind of baby squid with a slightly different batter, cause it just seems different to me but I could be wrong.) Great steaks and shellfish, a bit noisy but could be just the acoustics of the building. Overall, a great place to have a wonderful evening dinner."

"My husband and I are able to get out only a few times a year and Mr. B's is always our favorite place to go. The food on our last visit was fine, but the ambiance was terrible. There were 27 people crammed into a very small room. One table was extremely loud. Our table was oddly positioned. The table next to us was meant for 4 guest, however the party arrived with an extra person. Rather than reseat them, the host let them "squeeze" into the table thereby creating a wall next to my husband and me. I could have been at Chili's. When we spend $153 on dinner and drinks I expect more. I was so disappointed that I am not sure I will ever return"

"We went to Mr. B's for New Years Eve.

Upon arrival people are piled up in the doorway and once you get into the area where there is a very small bar with people stacked on top of each other. Took forever to get a drink.

The Hostess had to fight her way through oncoming traffic between close tables to take us through. We were within 3 feet on either side of other customers. This is not the place to go for an intimate meal. It's very loud and overcrowded.

The food was, as always, wonderful. The waiter was very late in bringing bread to us and forgot my side dish until halfway through our meal.

It would be more enjoyable if they reduced the number of customers allowed during an hour, you are paying enough for the meal."

"Experience overall was good and food was very good. Of the 3 of us, 2 had the prime rib. They both thought it was good but not quite worth the $49.99 charged. My husband indicated he wanted what was left of his to go - he found the next day that his leftover potatoes weren't included in that to-go container(and he didn't indicate he didn't want them) Also, against my initial best judgment we had dessert because I couldn't resist the chocolate chip pecan pie, but we were disappointed with it. Although it tasted OK, I feel that it would have been a lot better served warm. Overall, service was very good and we would come here again, but we would be a little more specific about what we wanted to take home, and we wouldn't order dessert."

"4 of us went there for a group Xmas lunch. Mr. B's isn't normally open for lunch, just for the Xmas holiday. This was our first time there. We all ordered some type of steak which we all ordered medium. All the steaks came out medium/well. We told the waiter when she asked how our food was. She offered to bring us all new steaks, but we said that was alright as the steaks were great even though they weren't cooked exactly the way we wanted. At the end of the meal we were brought out an entire platter of desserts on the house for their mistake and they also paid for a round of drinks. We didn't expect any compensation so we were quite surprised and pleased. We will definintely come back again!"

"Spinach salad was so covered in seasoned oil dressing, I couldn't taste the spinach. On-bone filet was a little gristly. Service was very good. Plates came and went without interrupting our birthday celebration except when necessary and then very deftly. Kudos to Open Table and Mr. B's for an effective system. I had included a note in the reservation that this was a birthday celebration for our son. Without any mention from us, the waiter appeared at just the right moment with a slice of flourless chocolate cake with candle and presented it to our son. Well done."

"I very very disappointment with the quality of the steaks. I had the filet with the scallops and my husband had the bone in rib eye. Neither had good flavor and I ordered my steak medium rare and it was more like medium well. Though, my scallops were very good. Our table was very small and in the walk way inside the room so, no privacy. I did ask for a nice table since we were celebrating our 26th wedding anniversary when I made the reservations but did not get it. I don't mind paying for quality food but, it was not enjoyable and the the food was no better than any low scaled restaurant. Very disappointed. Would not go back."

"The steaks were prepared perfectly, and melted in our mouths. Starches were unremarkable however. We were seated by the kitchen, so I cannot say the atmosphere was memorable. "Food was great and service was,too. It was extremely noisy as there were large tables with guys talking very loudly in the loft. Was not very relaxing for me and my husband. Wasn't quite what we were expecting."

"Our waitstaff were knowledgeable about the menu including advising us about the cuts of meat and preparation of our choices. They were very attentative without hovering during our meal. The atmosphere is cozy, quiet and comfortable. The food was perfectly cooked, well presented and delicious (leftovers were wonderful for lunch the next day!)."

"My wife and I had another wonderful evening at Mr. B's. It's our favorite "go-to" place for special occasions. The service was excellent, as usual. Both the servers were attentive without hovering and catered to all of our needs. We each ordered steaks; I had a ribeye and my wife had a fillet. The steaks were perfect; cooked to our specifications and full of flavor. We shared two sides and had enough food left over for dinner the next day at home. I would highly recommend Mr. B's for anyone who's looking for a place to have great food and wonderful service."
