"Went there on Mother's Day and had a very nice dinner. Food was really good. The pasta with the truffles and peas really good. Chicken was delicious as were the crispy artichokes. Service was really friendly - only complaint is that we ordered a fairly expensive bottle of wine and after initial pour we were on our own to pour for ourselves. No big deal, but we usually tip on the wine, so that might have been a nice touch. Cute place though and would definitely be back."

"We live in the Sacramento Valley and this is our only destination restaurant in San Francisco. We have never been disappointed and we are delighted with our evenings there. We always come away with a lovely memory of our trip to San Francisco and Bistro Aix."

"This is a regular go-to place for me and has been for years. I love the food, staff and restaurant but don't love sitting in the back - it's too loud and there are sometimes kids (I tend to eat on the early side). However, if I specifically request to be in the front section, they can usually accommodate."

"This restaurant is operated by a passionate proprietor devoted to food and wine. The staff is infused with this vision. The food style is distinctly savory but never goes over the edge. I give this a very high recommendation after having dined there singly and with guests over a two year period. "It's a very cozy and welcoming place. The fresh Asparagus soup was outstanding and on top the service too. The calamari could have been for my taste , a little crispier, and the beet salad was good, but not exciting. The wine list is very well selected. "Overall a delicious meal in a lovely restaurant. The only bad thing was that our waiter really seemed to rush us through the meal, and we were meeting friends who had driven from the south bay to meet us. We assumed that he was rushing us as they needed the table but it turned out that wasn't the case and we ended up sitting at the table drinking tap water having been brought the bill far too early. We felt obliged to leave even though we would have liked to order more drinks, coffee and dessert."

I had the Sonoma chicken and must say it was the best chicken breast I have ever had. My friend had the octopus risotto which was tender and flavored with saffron. "We rate this right up there with Frances it was so good! Every dish we had was amazing - the roast chicken, the lamb and the spaghetti. The french chablis I had was so good! The cheese plate was a real keeper.

"This was our first time at Bistro Aix, but it certainly won't be our last! The food was amazing! All three of us ordered something different and we were all delighted. The service was perfect - just enough and not too much. We were on our way to a presentation at the Palace of Fine Arts and this was a very convenient location to park once and have a leisurely stroll after dinner to the Palace. We're looking forward to our next meal at Bistro Aix."

"I made a reservation for Bistro Aix for Valentine Day at 5:30. I think we were the first patrons to arrive upon opening. I'm not sure where the prime seats are, but we were seated at a table by the window. There were three tables for two. The next couple to arrive were seated right next to us...seems strange when the whole restaurant was empty. I know that it was Valentine day, but we made a reservation several weeks in advance. I usually like to sit further in the restaurant and not right by the front door and I thought that since I made a reservation, I would be seated in a better spot. Other than that the service was fine and the food was excellent."

"Our latest visit to Bistro Aix was on Valentine's Day.We returned to Bistro Aix because we had had enjoyable meals there in the past. While waiting for our friends,we enjoyed a convivial glass of wine at the bar. The bartender,was efficient and friendly and dried the wine glasses with expert finesse! High marks for our hostess too.
Our food was good, not remarkable, still we would return knowing that the food is consistently decent, and well-priced even on V DAY. However, the service left room for improvement. No sense of personal attention; not even filling our water bottle; very cursory; not ok especially on a celebratory evening. We will return but hopefully have a different server!"

"I came here with 5 other friends for a ladies night out dinner on a Saturday night and very much enjoyed it. The food was wonderful, but they were out of a few things which is always unfortunate and the first server who helped us was a bit grumpy, giving me grief for saying champagne when I meant prosecco..seriously? The lady who took over for him was much nicer though and her service was great. She was knowledgeable about the menu and the food was out quick. The gnocchi especially was wonderful and the place had great atmosphere, both for a night with the girls or a romantic date."

"We have been to Bistro Aix over many years. It was always good, a little funky and reasonably priced. Now, the decor is improved, the food id better than ever and the prices remain reasonable. We were very happy with our experience and will be back."

"The food was good but the service was poor. The hostess chose to seat me near a screaming child in the back (maybe I didn't fit the Marina demographic) despite multiple empty seats and then selected an equally unsatisfactory alternative -- than grudgingly found a fairly decent table. Our waiter was really awful. He literally grabbed my salad plate out from under me when I was still eating (did the same thing with my friend), gave me a sour look when I asked for bread, served the pasta course after the entrée, and generally gave off an air of being put upon. The salad and seared tuna were good, but the pasta was mediocre.
Too many great restaurants to pay a premium for ok. Probably won't go back."

"I went with a party of 5 to Aix. Our waitress was patient while we asked her for some translations. We all shared several dishes and everyone was happy with the selections. The wine was wonderful as well. Would definitely go back!"

"THIS WAS OUR SECOND VISIT AND IT WAS JUST AS ENJOYABLE AS THE FIRST. BOTH VISITS THEY OFFERED INTERSTING SPECIALS AND GREAT SOUPS. EVERYTHING IS SO FRESH AND WELL PREPARED NO WONDER IT ALL TASTES GREAT. AND THAT CHOCOLATE CAKE DESERT IS SINFUL. NO DOUBT WE'LL BE BACK REGULARLY."

"They have a great back patio are that is covered with trees and lights that make it so cute and cozy. I would suggest sitting in the back unless you want the bar. The service is awesome! We had two small kids that were a handful, we had to wait on someone so we took awhile ordering and our waiter was so patient and cool the entire evening."
