"Our son had just graduated from law school, and we went out as a family to celebrate. Although quite expensive (and partially so because we apparently misread the cost of one of the bottles of wine we ordered, thinking it was $60 instead of the $140 we were charged), the food was excellent, the service impeccable, and the entire experience wonderful. My brother, who was in from out-of-town, said that his lobster was better than any he had eaten at a "fine seafood" restaurant. Desserts were delicious. We had reservations at 9:30, were seated immediately when we arrived at 9:15, and almost had the restaurant to ourselves. We "closed" the place, but never felt rushed. Would certainly visit Bacchus again for a special occasion."

"This was our second trip to Bacchus. The first time my wife got a little ill. We didn't think much of it. We went back a second time a year later. The menu was not very creative or unique from what you can get from other less prestigious restaurants. The service was ok but we had to ask a second time for several items. We asked for our food in a certain order and it came out in a different order. Anything that involves cream or butter uses way too much cream or butter (a problem with all of the Bartolotta's restaurants). The crab cakes where more cake than crab. One dish was not warm when it arrived. To top it off, both of us had upset stomachs the next day or so. We don't be coming back here or to any affiliated restaurants."

"We came to Milwaukee for our son's masters graduation and looking for a special place for celebrating his achievement. Bacchus was the perfect place for it, everything was excellent, the service was great and everybody enjoy their food. We ask for the sommelier for some references about wines and she was very helpful and efficient. None of us was been there before, but for sure we will come back and enjoy this incredible restaurant Gain."

"It's not very often that I find food that moves the soul. Bacchus was unbelievable and unforgettable. I had the Maine Lobster Ragout with Scallops as an appetizer and the Banana Split for dessert. Every bite was something to remember. I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for a romantic evening!"

"We have always tried to make it to aBartolotta restaurant for special occassions, but especially Bacchus. This place tops our list in terms of service and ambiance. From the time the valet whisks our car away to the hostess walking us out after our meal, everything in between is just top notch. The service is second to none - we have not found a resturant in the Milwaukee area that can match this! We will definitely continue to visit Bacchus when we need that special place to celebrate that special moment."

"My wife and I went here for an Early Mother's Day dinner...very impressed. Great location with a good view- valet parking in a private lot on site is also a plus. Wait staff was very knowledgeable and attentive. For an appetizer- we had the spinch and rissotto fritters with the fondue cheese...delish! I had the filet for my main course and it was tasty, but it arrived pre-sliced...I had expected a standard filet. Would recommend that the menu be modified moving forward so diners have expectations set ahead of time. My wife had the salmon- she loved it. Dessert was chocolate mousse- absolutely loved it. Overall very good dinner"

"Kurt was a great server. Knowledgeable about the menu and all his recommendations were fabulous. The food was excellent-from pan roasted chicken to veal chop to salmon. Salad was amazing as well as desserts. The only negative thing was that we were sitting under a ceiling vent that was blowing out very cold air. We had to ask 3 times to have it turned down or off, which they did and the rest of the evening was perfect."

"This is a really wonderful spot which if you have the right table, will give you a lovely view of Lake Michigan and the green space along the lake. It's located just off the lake in a quiet neighborhood. We had a 5:30 res which may account for the moderate noise level. We sat in the sort of sun porch which was bright and airy. We elected to have small plate choices: the rarebit, which includes a nice sized piece of pork belly was our favorite and we ordered a second one. We also tried polenta with mushrooms, risotto cakes and a pasta. Last we chose three cheeses, all Wisconsin, all recommended by our server, and all completely yummy. Service was very attentive; there when needed, absent when not."

"I treated my significant other to a special dinner at Bacchus. This was our first visit to Bacchus, however, we often dine at Bartolotta restaurants. We were very disappointed with our visit. We were seated in area that appeared to be used for weddings/parties. The large room had only two other parties and the space had no ambiance. Our wait staff promptly greeted us at our table, and then we had approximately 10 minutes of no service. Frankly, so few people were in the space I think it was easy to forget about us.
Our food was excellent but unfortunately, I would be hesitant to visit again. What I feel separates a Bartolotta restaurant, beyond great food, is the experience. Everything about our experience was a disappointment."

"Excellent food made with fresh ingredients. The wait staff was very attentive, but could have showed more personality/been friendlier. Our waiter brought us a side of risotto, saying that the chef wanted us to have it while we waited for our entrees, implying that it was complimentary. However, we were charged $10 (for about one cup of risotto); we wouldn't have accepted it, had we known we would be charged. Also, we were forced to use the valet service, and pay for it, which was ridiculous, because the parking spaces started five feet from the restaurant's door, and the lot was small."

"Looked like a nice NYC restaurant. Bread was overcooked (almost hard as a rock toasted) and steak could of had some veggies with it. Overall good food, but for the price one would expect perfect food. It was quieter on the inside, which is what my partner and I preferred. It got a little cold during our sitting. Be prepared to spend at least $100 for two with no drinks."

"Easter Brunch was even better than anticipated. The salmon appitizer looked as good as it tasted, the braised lamb and egg-crab cake entre's were flavorful and just the right proportion. Deserts were pleasing to the eye as well as the palet.
The service was timed to the point that you barely realized they were there.
Add the sunny skies to the view we had overlooking the lake and park, and it was a memorable Easter experiance."

"There are very few restaurants in the Milwaukee area that can make you feel special and also has amazing food. There was literally nothing that came to our table we didn't enjoy. Everything was cooked to perfection and we were not disappointed. Still not the most expensive place to eat, but was not cheap either."

"went there on a Monday night. Food highly disappointing compared to that of a year ago on a Saturday. Not sure if it has to do with the chef working or not? Bottom line, not worth the money spent. We went a year earlier and considered it worth it but this time it was a real let down."

"My husband and I dined at Bacchus before going to the theater. The staff asked about the time of the show and made sure we were finished dining in a perfect amount of time. The food and drink was outstanding as usual! They even called a cab for us to get to the theater. Came back after the show and had drinks and desserts at the bar where we were also treated royally."
